“I think Gideon’s still asleep,” she whispered, glancing down the hall toward the dungeon. “Do you want to go wake him?”
“No, not yet.” He tugged her the opposite direction. “Let him sleep. He probably didn’t come in until around dawn.”
Emma followed without hesitation. Instead of stopping in the bedroom, however, Jesse continued on past until he reached the closed door of the spa where the Jacuzzi was located.
“You were so cold, you have to warm up this way?” she teased when he pulled her inside. “How have you managed to live in Chicago all this time?”
“Well, I’ve been trying to talk Gideon into relocating to Miami, or San Diego, or Honolulu. He’s not interested in locations with a lot of sun.” He gently tugged the coat down her shoulders. “So I do what I can to keep warm.”
