“So how are you enjoying our vacation so far?” The question was asked casually, as if they were sitting in their kitchen, having a morning cup of coffee. “Are you and Emma having fun?”
“It’s been great.” His eyes were still trained on the gloves. He had acquainted himself with most of the objects in the room, but he hadn’t thought to look at the gloves. “We’ve both been having a great time.”
“Has she worked up to the Metropolitan Museum yet?” Gideon loomed in front of him again, and while his words remained conversational, the hard glints in his eye said something else entirely. “That was her big goal, wasn’t it?” Without looking away, he reached through the bars and ran a single leather-covered finger over Jesse’s nipple.
