A bad case of lovesickness

The staff in the Wright household were having the craziest day.

Both their master and their mistress had not returned the night before.

Perhaps they had gone to a hotel, they speculated. Someone pointed out that they were a newlywed couple, maybe they had a romantic night out!

However, late that morning, an unfamiliar car had pulled into the driveway and their mistress came back without their master!

Still in her beautiful dress, she looked pale and she was wearing some kind of strange footwear.

As the servants of the Wright household peered out of the window, they were shocked when a handsome young man who was not their master came out of the car and jogged towards her to offer her his arm.

To their scandalized horror, she accepted it!

As the two figures approached the door, the servants greeted them politely. Up close, they could see that the strange footwear the mistress was wearing were slippers of some sort.
