1 The two unfortunate

Althea lived a different life before she became Althea Celestia Britannia, she had been born as Thea Rozenburn.

Daughter to a count and a mother from humble backgrounds.

Her twin older brother Alexei and her lived with her parents in a small manor on the outskirts of the kingdom. Their own little haven away from the eyes of the other noble people in the capital.

Where the sound of the ocean waves sung to them every morning and night. Playing in the sand and swimming in the ocean water the two created their own adventures every day.

They had truly been blessed with the love of both their parents from the moment they were born till they had reached the age of nine. For even their little haven could shatter like a piece of thin ice.

It was only a few days after their ninth birthday that it happened. Like a pack of wolves a group of the royal guards arrived at their home. Without explanation their father took both the twins away to a small hidden room behind some bookcases in the library. As the twins begged for their father to stay with them, he only gave them a small reassuring smile his eyes filling with guilt as he promised to come back. Their mother was still somewhere in the manor.

Locked away in the darkness of that room they were cut off from the sounds outside the room. Each second that passed seemed like painful needles for them. Unable to understand what was going on, or why their father was taking so long.

After what seemed like hours hope shined in their little hearts as the lanch to the door opened. Their smiles frozen as the person that they had long been waiting for was no where to be seen when the door opened.

Cold empty eyes stared back at them as the man before them only stared down at them as if they were nothing more then little beasts.

"Come out." His chilled voice spoke out as frosted silver eyes seemed to flow against his raven hair.

Trembling like leaves against the winter wind the two gripped on to each other in fear that the other would be pulled away if their grip loosen. It was only after they had stepped out into the light of the room that the man's expressionless eye widen only slightly in curiousity before the frost in his eyes once again won over.

"So she had children after all."

He muttered to himself before in slight awe as a royal guard made his way over.

"Duke Octavius, let us handle them from this point on."

"So what ? So you can kill them just as you killed their mother? I thought the royal family had a higher regular for the daughters of the saintness."

"That woman betrayed his grace. As well as went against the rules of being a daughter of the saintness. She ran away from her responsibilities only to marry a mere normal man."

"And yet you didn't kill that mere normal man but killed her instead? His majesty sure is merciful."

The Duke chuckled coldly before turning back to look at the two pitiful children before him. They would become nothing more than tool for the temple and crown. Truly pitiful children.

"Take them away."

Confused without a moment to wander in their sorrows they stood before the empire days later. Eyes redden from the tears they managed to shed during the carriage ride over. Trembling under the gazes of those in the large throne room. The two felt no bigger than small bugs or prey awaiting for the predators in front of them to announce their verdict.

Yet, no stare was more dominating nor frightening than the one coming from the cold gold eyes of the emperor. With a cold blank expression the emperor simply gazed down at the two siblings analyzing before his eyes met those of the then Thea.

"Since your mother so foolishly left the arms of the holy temple for such feeblery than you shall take her place. You'll take her old name, Althea Celestia."

With wide eye Thea felt as if in that moment heavy chains had been wrapped around her young weak body. She could feel that in that moment she had lost all freedom and the life she once had.

"The brother.."

The emperor suddenly spoke out in an almost malicious tone as he stared down at the younger twin with a much colder look in his eyes.

"I didn't think it was possible for one of their kind to have a male offspring. It's almost unheard of…what should I do with you."

A cold shiver ran down Thea's spine as she held her brother closer to her trying her hardest not to seem anymore terrified than she already was. She could feel her collar growing wet as she could hear her brother silently trying not to let his sobs out.

"Why not train him to become a holy knight?" One of the priest that had been summoned from the temple came forward. With a forced smile he stopped besides the twin, briefly glancing down at the two with a small comforting smile before once again meeting the emperor's gaze.

"He may be the first male offspring to the saintness bloodline but that could also mean that he could become a shield for the crown and temple. As a holy knight he can serve at the crown's side as well as protect the young saintness. The two would become a greater symbols for the people, they may even become great benifits for the crown itself. Under the grace of empire's sun of course." The priest who had become one of the youngest prodigy priests who was said to become a next in line to become the next Head Priest. At the simple age of seventeen he had already come one of the most knowledgeable and sought out priests at the temple.

As the emperor stared at the young priest who had stood before him. Thoughts ran through his head as a smirk crossed the king's face. Under the words of the priest the emperor's own mind began twisting at all the possibilities before him. Just maybe he could use this new saintness before him could to do what that despicable predecessor foolishly ran away from.

"I see. Then I shall allow the temple to guy these two in the manners of becoming saint was and holy knight. The two of them will carry the royal Britannia name as their own. It seems we'll have to make sure that not another one of the saintness children away from their path."
