The wrath of the devil

The door to my throne room suddenly opened, and the demon I'd been expecting, came in, fuming like a deranged old man.

I would have liked it if he gave me a minute to get over the pain from my throne. Nonetheless, we should get this done.

"My Lord." He greets without bowing as he would normally do.

"How dare you insult your king?" Elder Fin, who happened to be the elder from his Kingdom z, asked in anger.

"And why should I kill this monster!"

The elders gasped in shock, while I sat still, looking on with a bored expression on my face.

"Shut up!" Elder Guy stood from his chair. "Barging into the room without bowing to the king was overlooked, but there's no way an insult like that can be overlooked. How dare you insult your king? "

" King?" The demon king scoffed at him, "you call this monster my king? He ceased to be my king when he killed my son without remorse."

And now, it was the turn of the elders, to turn their attention to me, and they did so with an unreadable expression on their faces.

Right now, they are confused about this. They don't know whom to side with, without hurting the other.

They are torn between their duty to me, as their king, and their duty to the people, as the peacemakers.

"Pray tell, what did your son do that warranted his death?" I pick on my fingers.

The veins, having gotten enough of my powers for today, decided to return to their resting place. Tomorrow, they resume from where they stopped.

"He did nothing! You murdered him because of nothing!"

Of course, the family of the dead always claims the innocence of their deceased family member. They might have been enemies when the person was alive, but in death, they will claim to be best of friends.

"And that's something I don't believe at all." Elder Tima gives the king of demons a once over.

"He did not—"

I flick my fingers, and the air that surrounds me, hanged the Demon King in the air.

" My king!" The Elders gasped when they noticed what was happening.

They know that no one can calm my anger should it escalate. My powers never cool down until it has done that which it was summoned for.

I ignored them. Turning my gaze to the struggling king, I frown at him.

"I need you to listen to my words, and carefully, at that. Had this been under Normal circumstances, I wouldn't have wasted my time talking.

Your son was at fault. I got him trying to strangle a human, and taught him a lesson." opened my palm, and the demon unceremoniously fell to the floor.

The elders, witnessing everything that happened, exhaled in relief when they found out I wasn't planning on doing anything to the Demon king.

At least, not for today.

Should he in any way try to enter my list, I'll make sure I teach him not to insult his Lord. I wasn't named the devil, first naught.

I can't allow him to live, not when there is a possibility of his story getting out to others. Should they know I didn't punish him after he insulted me, my people will all attempt to do as he did.

"My son did no such thing, I must avenge him," The demon king rose from the floor, and at the same time, he sent bolts of fire toward me. Probably in an attempt to get me confused.

I flick my fingers, and the air hanged him once more. This time around, instead of being lenient in my hold on his neck, I tightened my hands to fists and watched him struggle.

A sadistic smirk was on my face as I watched him struggle for his life.

"My Lord —"

"Silence!" The Earth quaked at my voice, and the pathetic elders whimpered as they sought a way to hide from my wrath.

"I allowed you to leave here alive, but it seems you want the other way out. I can see your son's soul is calling out to you from the pit." I tsk," it's a pity I can't let you live. Not after you insulted me, and attempted my murder."

Should nothing happen to him, my people will see it as something that signifies that I've lost my Powers.

I raise my hand, and my fiery sword appeared at to summon. I palmed the hilt as I got familiar with a sword I've made use of, twice, for today.

"My Lord." My Elders bowed, "please have mercy on him. He's only but a father, grieving for his son. Please have mercy, don't —"

"I won't allow myself to be insulted by my subjects. He went far when he attempted to fight against me. His fate has been predetermined already."

I rise to the sky and faced the Demon king. Even as he struggled to free himself from my invincible air, the hatred he has for me is pronounced on his face. There's no hiding from anyone.

This shows the readiness of the King, to fight against me.

Should I allow him to leave here alive, it only means I need to prepare for a war that's undoubtedly going to happen.

"I hope you meet your son in the Netherlands."

Unexpectedly, I slashed through his body. Conjuring my fire below him, I watch as pieces of his body fell into the fire.

The fire hissed as the brown blood dripped into it, but it didn't get extinguished until it completely and thoroughly burnt the flesh of the Demon king.

"Arrange for the coronation of the next in line king," I order my elders, who are standing dumbstruck as if they are trying to process what just happened.

"My Lord, we —"

"I need everything arranged, and ready for execution. A new king must be on the throne before the blue moon appears tomorrow."

" As you wish, my king." They bowed lowly.
