24 Disastrously Jealous

The rogue has been circumventing me for days now. Aside from the daily meeting, we have during breakfast, lunch and dinner, I don't see him like I normally do.

Even in the short time we spend eating together, I've not had more than fifteen minutes to talk to him.

And during that time, I'm the one doing the talking while he nods at my words. He doesn't contribute at all.

All he does is nod like a Lizard, but he'll never reply.

Before, I always wished to have all day to myself without having him disturb me. But when he does as I wished for, I find myself hoping for the past.

I never knew how much I crave hearing him talk until he stopped talking to me.

For these past five days now, I've tried everything in my power to make him talk to me, but it was all to no avail.

He didn't even raise a brow at me when I refused to have breakfast with him. All he did was shrug and continued with his meal.

I was hoping for some punishment, but all I got was a cold shoulder.

A knock sounded on my door, and I rushed towards it, thinking it was the rogue knocking.

My smiling face fell at the sight of an unfamiliar male at the other side of my door.

"How may I help you?" I snap at the poor unsuspecting male.

"I was— The Alpha did—

no, I have to—" He stammered, a look of undisguised fear in his expression as he tried to relay whatever message he was sent on, to me.

"What's it? What do you want?" This time, I asked in a tone that wasn't as snappy as the one I made use of earlier.

After all, it wasn't the fault of the poor male that the Rogue stopped talking to me.

"The Alpha asked me to check on you."

This time, he answered in a smooth voice. The fear he showed at the beginning was nowhere to be found.

My face morphed into a frown at his words.

The Rogue not only refused to talk to me, but he has the guts to send someone else to check up on me.

"As you can see, I'm more than okay." I made to bang the door in his face, but he stopped me.

" The pack is having a joint workday. He's hoping you'll attend."

"Tell him to go to hell." I bang the door in the male's face and stormed to my bed in anger.

Flopping on it, I tried not to think of the stupid rogue and how he has been avoiding me for days now. But it seems my heart has made its mind — I don't know, hearts have minds of their own— not to allow me to have any rest.

I screamed into the pillow. Venting out my frustrations on the poor thing doesn't seem to help at all.

The only thing it did was make my throat ache like no man's business.

I rose from the bed, and walk to the window. Looking out, I deeply frowned when I saw the rogue speaking to a female; one who's so beautiful it made me jealous.

I saw red at that instant.

Without thinking about my actions, I took the jacket on my bed and wore it over the singlet I was putting on before I walk out of my room.

It's time to show the female she can't just talk to anyone she sees.

I passed the other pack members who were doing one thing or the other, my mind already set on my destination.

"The dance—"

"There you are!" I dramatically ran to his side and hugged him.

Surprising not only myself but the female as well.

I darkly glared at the said female, my eyes conveying what my mouth couldn't say.

He stiffened at my touch.

"Mek," he tried to remove my hand from his arm, but I stubbornly held on to him.

"I was told you asked me to join the joint workday." I glared at the female as I talked.

Should my eyes in any way turn to a gun, she won't be standing here right this instant. She would have long been gone.

The female gulped at the look I gave her. Her eyes darted from the Alpha, and back at my hand that's holding him captive.

"Excuse me, Alpha, I'll go and help those in need of me."

"I'm not through—"

"Go Ahead love. I'm sure there are people out there who need your help." I wave her off, "you can join one of the many groups around here."

"I'll go ahead then." She bowed to the Alpha before she Hastily left. She made it seem like all hell was after her.

While of a truth, the only thing after her is the scorching glare on my face. That's the only weapon I'm fighting her off with.

"What did you do Just now?" The Rogue frowned at me.

"Turned out, the first word you say to me is this." I scoff at him, "I don't know what to make of you. You called me out to join your so-called pack in whatever it is you're doing today, and you're asking me such a question?"

"Why didn't you join any of the groups out there? Why must you disturb me?"

" I'm now disturbing you? I can see that." I turn to glare at the female who's now helping a group of females to sew the clothes. "I apologize for stopping your flirting session with the cute female."

I can detect the jealousy in my tone, but I wasn't concerned with that.

"You better be." He turned to look at the female whom he was speaking to earlier. "What male wouldn't want to talk to someone as sweet, hardworking as Li—"

" Go ahead, she's still there." Pointing at the female who dared take the Rogue's focus off me, I stormed back to our house.
