5 Arc 1: End of the World Cannon Fodder

The next day, Feng Yuze woke up.

He went out of his room and found out that Yuan Tianyu was already up as well as the rest of his teammates.

Yuan Tianyu nodded at Feng Yuze as a greeting and Feng Yuze returned it with a smile.

"Sleep well?" Feng Yuze questioned.

"En."

"When will we make our way to City A's base?" Feng Yuze asked.

"In an hour, eat some breakfast first." Yuan Tianyu replied as he gestured to the food on the table which was some scrambled eggs and pancakes.

Feng Yuze nodded and made his way to the table to get some food. He piled some food onto his plastic plate and began to dig in.

After he finished eating, there were about 40 minutes left before departure so he decided to take a bath and change some clothes.

He asked Xing Genghis, one of Yuan Tianyu's teammates with the water ability to help fill the tub so he could take a bath. Xing Genghis complied and after he finished taking a bath and getting dressed in the same clothes from yesterday because he did not have a change of clothes, he made his way out to the living room where the rest of the teammates were.

Seeing Feng Yuze in the same clothes from yesterday, Yuan Tianyu frowned and asked Seo Ran to take out some clothes for him to wear. Seo Ran gave him the clothes which were a yellow long-sleeved shirt and light blue jeans. Feng Yuze took the clothes and got dressed again.

Dressed with the new clothes, it made Feng Yuze features look softer. He looked like a gentle youth, a sharp contrast to how he looked yesterday because he wore all black.

Yuan Tianyu felt his cheeks getting warm. He cleared his throat and said, "You look nice."

"Thanks!" Feng Yuze replied with a smile so bright that it stunned Yuan Tianyu for a while before he snapped out of it.

Feng Yuze handed Seo Ran his old clothes to store in his space, and they finally departed to City A's base.

After a few hours, after killing a few zombies, they finally reached City A's base.

Feng Yuze had already asked the system to use the antidote. This is because all bases would check whether any people who come in were infected. So when it was time to be checked for bites and infection by the guards at City A, Feng Yuze was able to pass into the base.

"Since you are part of my team now, this means that you will live with us at the team villa." Yuan Tianyu said.

"Okay." Feng Yuze replied with a small smile.

When the team was walking to the team villa, they heard a small commotion.

It was an argument between 5 people. As they got closer, Feng Yuze saw that it was his previous teammates arguing with an old woman.

He felt Yuan Tianyu stiffen next to him and Feng Yuze thought it was because of Song Mei Ling and Kang Fu Yan.

"I don't believe you!!! How could the second in command of the Mighty Lions die so easily?!?" The old woman cried with tears streaming down her face.

The woman's cries attracted a crowd and soon Feng Yuze's old teammates were surrounded by a crowd of passerby's who were eager for the tea to spill.

Kang Fu Yan's arm was wrapped around Song Mei Ling's fragile body and he said boldly, "Believe it or not! Feng Yuze was killed because he got bitten by a zombie!"

"System 505, does the original owner know this old woman?"

"Yes, this old woman is taken care of by the original owner because she was his neighbor who used to watch his younger sister who is currently missing."

"Okay."

After finishing the talk with the system, he felt someone grab his hand. He looked up and found out that it was Yuan Tianyu.

"Were you Song Mei Ling's and Kang Fu Yan's second in command? Were they the ones who pushed you into the horde of zombies?" Yuan Tianyu asked with intensity.

Feng Yuze nodded.

Yuan Tianyu's hold on Feng Yuze's hand grew tighter and by the look on his face, Feng Yuze could tell he was furious. Yuan Tianyu let out some killing intent which caused the group that was arguing to look in their direction.

Feng Yuze's previous teammate's eyes widened in fear.

"Feng Yuze!" The old woman cried when she saw him and ran to hug him.

Yuan Tianyu walked intimately towards his previous teammates, letting killing intent fall off of him like waves. The air grew colder which caused some onlookers to shiver.

A knife made of ice formed into Yuan Tianyu's hand. Feng Yuze quickly pulled back from the old woman's embrace to stop Yuan Tianyu from killing the protagonists again.

Feng Yuze grabbed Yuan Tianyu's left hand and pulled him back behind himself which Yuan Tianyu complied.

"Calm down, don't kill them." Feng Yuze whispered behind him.

"En."

"Brother Feng, how...how are you still alive!?!" Song Mei Ling stuttered in fear.
