Secrets of the Wicked

A plan that was supposed to involve saving her friends turned into a full-blown mess that plagues Anberine wherever she goes. The worst part is that it's not just any boy, it was the King's Son! How will she cope with her bully who now behaves like a puppy on not just any leash- her leash! Short Except- "What could you possibly want with her?" Marcus asked coldly only to pause as he saw Prince Skye show Anberine a withered purple flower which had yellow on the bottom petal that he had in his right jacket pocket. Anberine's mouth parted while her eyes as she narrowed them showed she was in disbelief, what was he up to? "Seriously...? A dead flower?" Anberine asked dryly not at all impressed by what he was up to. "Well it matches your eyes" Skye commented as he saw her newly changed violet eyes which were still not amused, clearing his throat he kept the flower visible "Violets that sparkle, flowers despite withering never suit you anymore than they do now" Skye said mentally blinking at what he was saying. 'Wait what? What did I just say?!' Prince Skye screamed mentally not believing what he had just said. 'Why did I said something so dumb?' he berated himself for the stupid comment. "What?" Marcus was left baffled while Anberine was even more confused, to prove she was confused she tilted her head and her expression showed she was completely lost. "What has he been drinking?" Anberine asked still in shock as she tried to observe any features that would have been off. "Did you sneak a sip from your father's wine cellar? Or did you hit your head when no one was looking?" Anberine asked bluntly now looking at Marcus who shrugged. "I did drink something" Prince Skye admitted causing the pair to stare at him quickly, that was odd why was he admitting anything and to them no less? "I've been drinking in your beauty and for a rat-faced girl, you look cute" he added with a sly smile. -Author's notes- Please let me know what you think, feedback and comments are truly appreciated. Who is that Man?

"On the outside I'm suppose to rule looking kind and mature but really, on the inside however... I just want to be sick. I don't want to be a prince, I never asked for this... but it doesn't matter what I want. In the end I am just a pawn for my father's gain"

Anberine before she could stop herself, pulled at the sleeve closest to her and placed her forehead on the crook of his tensed up neck.

Sighing heavily she remained still even as she felt his other arm slowly wrap itself around her. Even though this move would have made her want to shrug him off she resisted the urge.

Just this once, for him she would allow him to feel some comfort.

Even if it was temporary. Silence greeted them as they remained quiet and not once did they complain, instead they relished in it even if it was for a short time before things went back to normal.

"I'm sorry" Anberine said softly knowing he wouldn't truly know why she was apologising, inside she silently vowed to break the curse one way or another or at least help him find someone who would help him become a more happier and better person.

Just this now allowed her to see him as human and not as a cold person who would gladly hurt people because he could or was in a bad mood for whatever reason.

In a way he looked more humbled and human, not a monster or a spoilt brat who wanted things his way.

Now as she tried to process things, the guilty girl could almost slap her head at how she could have missed out on the cries for help he had been releasing discretely. Whether or not he was aware of the fact he was doing this.

As much as she was upset with how he was behaving, regardless of whether he was under the influence of the potion. Even if it showed some grains of truth it allowed her to see him as himself. On the other hand it had left a lot of unanswered questions to fill her mind.

"Why do you need to apologise? You did nothing wrong, you didn't do this to me" Skye murmured softly before resting his head on top of hers, on the inside Anberine's guilt continued to flare up at how nice he was being. She didn't truly deserve to hear this response, that she knew after all she had done THIS to the prince thanks to her moment of weakness.

All because she had gotten fed up with how he was treating her and it was then that she wanted him to have a taste of his own medicine.

To finally learn that what he was doing wasn't okay. That and she wanted him to make a complete fool of himself so he could finally be not only laughed at but mocked for being an idiot.

Anberine even as she stayed in his arms felt her guilt overwhelm her leaving her feeling suffocated. This wasn't right, her aunt for sure would truly be disappointed in her. She had to cure him for sure and fast.

"Could you... at least be nicer to people?" Anberine asked softly as she stared at his blazer, hoping that once the spell had worn off he would still have people who would care for him.

Ones who would see him as him and not some monster or some sort of a stepping stone for them to reach for the top as some would no doubt see him as now.

Pausing the prince contemplated her words before smiling softly at how kind and selfless she was being, it really was rare to see this type of person act this way towards others even if they didn't deserve it.

"I can try... but I don't know how" Skye admitted with a weak chuckle, hearing this causing her to almost shake her head earning her another chuckle from him.

"How about treating people the way you want to be treated" she muttered dryly, this time the prince smiled brightly before pulling her into a proper hug startling her thanks to the sudden move.

"Thank you" Prince Skye said with a genuine smile that took her by surprise, slowly time felt as if it was slowing down around them. It was strange that seeing him actually smiling had left her wanting to smile as well oddly enough.

Just seeing him smiling made her now wonder what it would have been like if he was free to be himself. As she was thinking she didn't notice Skye's eyes soften from seeing the many different emotions that could be seen in her eyes, she looked so gentle that it made him want to keep her close and never let her out of his sight.

Strange as it was she who caused his heart to sing and no one else, just watching the Dark Dwellers and the boy who he resented for being so close to her as if they were drawn into her left Skye wanting to be included even throughout the years of distancing himself for many silly reasons he could slap himself for being so stupid and stubborn.

There was something about her dare he admit it that brought out some sides that even he wasn't aware of nor had he wanted to show anyone, but being alone with her now they were more likely to appear surprising him.

Even if they were in the shadows it made him feel safe, comforted and protected knowing that she was there for him, like nothing could harm him at this moment for example and it made him feel at ease enough to breath.

"Prince Skye" came an emotionless voice that appeared out of nowhere, hearing this voice however froze Prince Skye just as he was about to kiss her once more.

Dread immediately formed in his chest as he saw a silhouette standing near the other side of stairs, half consumed by shadows the person who could not be identified stared at them leaving Skye more unsettled than ever before.

Knowing that the person who caught them was dangerous to a point was bad enough. Now seeing the prince's expression startled Anberine who had just realised that his face was really close to hers, which in turn caused her face to go red.

"The king wants a word with you immediately" the voice who Anberine could guess was a male however to her confusion, she was unable to see or know what he looked like.

It was almost as if he was made up of pure darkness or something else entirely. Placing a hand to his face Skye moved his head down but didn't kiss her, instead he sighed wearily and left Anberine staring at his retreating figure. Not looking back he followed the shadow who now vanished without a trace.

'Who... is that man?' Anberine was left not knowing what to think or say, just seeing him gave her the most insecure feeling compared to how she felt with Skye over the years.

It was almost as if any joy or any feelings of safety she had instantly vanished all together leaving nothing but fear in it's place.

As a result she rubbed her arms in order to regain the warmth she lost before leaning against the wall. Sighing heavily her weary eyes opened and closed a few times until she was able to gather her wits together, now feeling somewhat at ease she began to walk towards her next classroom after grabbing her bag from the floor.

As she walked gripped her bag strap tightly while forcing her rapidly beating heart to slow even though that was easier said than done.
