Secrets of the Wicked

A plan that was supposed to involve saving her friends turned into a full-blown mess that plagues Anberine wherever she goes. The worst part is that it's not just any boy, it was the King's Son! How will she cope with her bully who now behaves like a puppy on not just any leash- her leash! Short Except- "What could you possibly want with her?" Marcus asked coldly only to pause as he saw Prince Skye show Anberine a withered purple flower which had yellow on the bottom petal that he had in his right jacket pocket. Anberine's mouth parted while her eyes as she narrowed them showed she was in disbelief, what was he up to? "Seriously...? A dead flower?" Anberine asked dryly not at all impressed by what he was up to. "Well it matches your eyes" Skye commented as he saw her newly changed violet eyes which were still not amused, clearing his throat he kept the flower visible "Violets that sparkle, flowers despite withering never suit you anymore than they do now" Skye said mentally blinking at what he was saying. 'Wait what? What did I just say?!' Prince Skye screamed mentally not believing what he had just said. 'Why did I said something so dumb?' he berated himself for the stupid comment. "What?" Marcus was left baffled while Anberine was even more confused, to prove she was confused she tilted her head and her expression showed she was completely lost. "What has he been drinking?" Anberine asked still in shock as she tried to observe any features that would have been off. "Did you sneak a sip from your father's wine cellar? Or did you hit your head when no one was looking?" Anberine asked bluntly now looking at Marcus who shrugged. "I did drink something" Prince Skye admitted causing the pair to stare at him quickly, that was odd why was he admitting anything and to them no less? "I've been drinking in your beauty and for a rat-faced girl, you look cute" he added with a sly smile. -Author's notes- Please let me know what you think, feedback and comments are truly appreciated. He is right

"It's not like I need to use this stuff anyways-?" Skye replied sharply earning him a thunderous look from the teacher.

"Prince Skye! This is for safety not just practical! Honestly one day someone might use a dangerous potion and for all we know it could kill you" Jilbari scolded.

Anberine as she heard this looked away weakly as guilt entered her mind.

"I had a feeling this would come up one day" she muttered faintly as she wanted to leave in case they caught her out.

"You have been very bizarre in your behaviour. Do not think we teachers do not notice! One moment you're behaving like a reckless idiot and bullying students for whatever reason, the next you're acting all nice to them almost as if you had a change of heart... which right now I am deeming impossible with your stubborn streak" Jilbari scolded loudly.

Skye as he listened felt his stomach plummet while every word left him an uncomfortable headache.

"Now as I see in your notebook you have almost nothing in it, why am I even teaching you if you want nothing more than to flunk my studies?" Jilbari slammed his left hand on the notebook causing Skye and Anberine to jump from how angry the teacher was towards him.

"At this rate I should just fail you this year or better yet kick you out my class for good if you think that this is okay. After all you barely pass my classes to begin with" Jilbari added causing Skye to sweat.

His body went cold at the thought of this catching everyone's ears and the worst part- his father would never let him live it down.

For sure there would be hell to pay for behaving this way.

"Sir-"

"Did I say you can speak boy?" Jilbari interrupted the uncomfortable teen, grumbling the teacher folded his arms.

"I shouldn't even suggest a study partner since you would no doubt cause more problems. I already have to deal with other students as well as you which is painful enough as it is" Anberine as she heard this felt her back stiffen in horror.

Skye as he looked up noticed Anberine from the corner of his eye froze, realisation as to why she was even here listening to this had made him want to swallow the vomit that was coming up quickly.

"Considering you are the prince, I have no choice but to give you two choices" Jilbari said as he forced the words to leave his lips.

"Either you take on a study partner or I fail you which will no doubt force you to either retake the year or expel you from school. It is your choice sire. Now if you excuse me, I have more important things to do" Jilbari snapped as he approached Anberine.

Placing a calm hand on her tense shoulder he nodded briefly before leaving the room.

Silence left the room as they remained still, nor did it sound as if a breath could be heard.

Skye as he slowly looked at his notebook moved his head up to see Anberine still staring at the door with a bewildered look.

This was beyond mortifying and for a peasant like her to see this left a bitter taste in his mouth.

"He is right" Anberine said quietly causing him to look at her with an unreadable expression.

"I did tell you and you didn't listen, you never do" Anberine relaxed her shoulders after regaining her ability to calm down from the uncomfortable scolding she witnessed.

"Hey!" Skye yelled as he stood up with his hands on the desk, His eyes focused on her while she left the room silently leaving him with the suffocating silence once more.

Groaning loudly he slumped in his chair before placing a hand to his face.

'What am I going to do now?' Skye whined now feeling as if everything was going out of control, the worst part was that he did not know how to fix anything.

There was no way he was getting a study partner just to appease his teacher but the year was already complicated enough.

He had barely scraped a pass last year and now he was left either retaking the year only knowing his teacher's mood he would no doubt ask the king to expel him.

Without a doubt this would have a significant part in helping him ascending the throne after all who would want an idiot for a king?

The worst part was that in four months there was going to be a mock exam and he was already behind on the class.

Was there no way to pass this?

If so how could he even pull a miracle and pass this year?

He had two more years ahead and that no doubt would result in more harder lessons.

To Skye's dismay he had no one to speak to truthfully about it, nor did he... have friends.

Plus the other nobles would no doubt rub it in his face and leave him feeling more bitter about the circumstances if they weren't already planning to thanks to this mess.

Groaning helplessly once more Skye closed his eyes as he tried to push away the overwhelming feelings that were hitting him from every angle.

'(...Go after her)' Skye froze as he heard a voice, strangely enough it sounded like him.

Opening his eyes Skye looked at the hand covering his face as he pulled his hand back, dismay filled his face from who the voice meant.

"There's no way she would help" Skye muttered bluntly as he got up, looking at the clock he froze from realising that he was late for defence class.

Without wasting time he rushed out the room after shoving everything in his bag.

"Look there he is!" a brown-haired male said with a grin, Skye as he ran towards the group outside noticed the wave slowed down his running.

"Prince Skye!" A black-haired blue eyed male greeted with a wave.

Their teacher a stern look on his face as he wore fencing armour folded his arms while watching the late comer enter his class.

"Late young man" the teacher said, his jet black eyes stared harshly at Skye who tensed up.

"I'm sorry teacher, I was held up" Skye replied weakly as he scratched the back shyly.

Staring that the uncomfortable teen the teacher huffed before turning away.

"Be sure you don't do this again sire, it would be very unroyal like to be tardy once more" the teacher said coldly.

"Y-Yes Mr. Drake" Skye said while the brown-haired brown eyed teen approached Skye who was trying to recompose himself.

"Are you okay Sire?" the boy asked catching Skye's attention.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Skye almost scoffed at the question but the boy paid no heed.

"Well... you weren't yourself lately, Just wanted to see if everything was okay?" Skye eyed the boy briefly before folding his arms.

"What is your name?" Blinking rapidly the brown eyed boy who had passed Skye the wooden sword almost stammered at the question.

"R-Rowan Bryce" Rowan replied as his cheeks went pink from the fact that the prince was even talking to him, after all he would always remain aloof with people and treat them like dirt.

"Hmm" Skye walked past Rowan who slowly remembered where they were, quickly using a wooden shield for defence he tried to dodge Skye's onslaught.

Brushing off the surprise Rowan quickly recovered and retaliated against Skye who he noticed was a little on edge.

"Why do you even care anyways?" Skye asked as he slammed Rowan's shield with the sword causing Rowan's arm to shake from the impact.

Gritting his teeth Rowan retaliated with his sword while Skye was focused on the shield.

To their surprise Skye's hand that had the sword had been hit hard enough to release this hold over the weapon stunning the pair into silence.

Glancing around quickly to make sure no one was watching, Rowan who had owlish eyes thanks to his shock pulled the stunned prince away so they could talk alone.
