Secrets of the Wicked

A plan that was supposed to involve saving her friends turned into a full-blown mess that plagues Anberine wherever she goes. The worst part is that it's not just any boy, it was the King's Son! How will she cope with her bully who now behaves like a puppy on not just any leash- her leash! Short Except- "What could you possibly want with her?" Marcus asked coldly only to pause as he saw Prince Skye show Anberine a withered purple flower which had yellow on the bottom petal that he had in his right jacket pocket. Anberine's mouth parted while her eyes as she narrowed them showed she was in disbelief, what was he up to? "Seriously...? A dead flower?" Anberine asked dryly not at all impressed by what he was up to. "Well it matches your eyes" Skye commented as he saw her newly changed violet eyes which were still not amused, clearing his throat he kept the flower visible "Violets that sparkle, flowers despite withering never suit you anymore than they do now" Skye said mentally blinking at what he was saying. 'Wait what? What did I just say?!' Prince Skye screamed mentally not believing what he had just said. 'Why did I said something so dumb?' he berated himself for the stupid comment. "What?" Marcus was left baffled while Anberine was even more confused, to prove she was confused she tilted her head and her expression showed she was completely lost. "What has he been drinking?" Anberine asked still in shock as she tried to observe any features that would have been off. "Did you sneak a sip from your father's wine cellar? Or did you hit your head when no one was looking?" Anberine asked bluntly now looking at Marcus who shrugged. "I did drink something" Prince Skye admitted causing the pair to stare at him quickly, that was odd why was he admitting anything and to them no less? "I've been drinking in your beauty and for a rat-faced girl, you look cute" he added with a sly smile. -Author's notes- Please let me know what you think, feedback and comments are truly appreciated. Fall in Love with me?

"I can't otherwise he will not fall for any of you, the potion requires one person to make it. No involvements or exceptions" Anberine explained with a grumble, blinking Mordred tried to think of a solution.

"What if we make the food or drink and slip it in after you've made the potion? Surely that would counteract the requirement?" Helga suggested causing Merlia and Morgana to ponder on that question.

"Worth a try" Merlia said before looking at her anxious friend with a sheepish smile. "Please Anberine, we really need your help and we wouldn't ask you to help us with something like this unless if was important. Our people need to be free from the King's control and I'm sure you want the Light Dwellers to be free from his rule as well right?" Merlia asked, Anberine bit her lip as she stared at them and then the paper.

Walking towards the Helga who held the paper she slowly took it. In the end it wasn't just about her, or some stupid prank. It was for the survival of their countries.

Their king's reign had to end. Uther despite all the good appearances was bad news, some people had vanished mysteriously from time to time but instead of showing worry Uther brushed it off and said they had to be in the country somewhere.

Even the knights did nothing as to avoid Uther's wrath sickening the group at how low the knights would sink, just to save their own skins as well.

"Fine... I'll do it" Anberine said as she grabbed the pot and began to levitate ingredients that she had already towards the table so she could get to work. Silence greeted the room before a wide smile formed on Morgana's face, Helga squealed with delight and Merlia rushed towards a frowning Anberine who was chopping some of the ingredients.

"Go to the supply room and my dorm, there are some ingredients in there" was all Anberine said as she focused on her work.

Frowning but nodding Perceval walked out the room silently while Helga ran after him with a skip in her step knowing that they were going to achieve their goal of over throwing the king was going to be a reality.

Plus enchanting the prince to do their dirty work was only a bonus in their book given how much of a tyrant he was even towards their friend.

Besides there wasn't much of a cure for the 'curse' so they were golden as long as the one who enchants him stays alive for as long as possible... or they could just get rid of him once they were finished with him.

Which in itself was an appealing thought.

As Anberine continued to sort out the ingredients she eventually started brewing the potion with the mini cauldron which allowed them to make enough for one person.

Given the nature and timing of the potion Anberine had missed most of their no class day while the others as promised started doing their homework and began studying in order to avoid any issues with their teachers over tests.

As the sun started setting Anberine wiped sweat from her brow as she stirred with her right hand, so far the potion had turned from green to opaque pink thanks to a small red flower that originated in the castle gardens.

"You should take a break" Merlia said with a kind smile as she handed Anberine a cup of water, looking at the water and her friend Anberine shook her head with a faint smile.

"I can't until it's finished, if I miss a step, add something wrong or over cook it it'll be spoiled" Anberine explained surprising Merlia who now signed but nodded with an understanding look.

"Thank you for doing this, we really do appreciate this" Merlia said softly as she handed Anberine a bat's tooth which was half grounded and placed in a small pot.

Taking it slowly Anberine flashed her a small smile but lightly dusted parts of the potion before setting the fire to low so it could simmer for a bit in order to cook properly.

"Should be fine for a bit" Anberine said as she observed the colours and bubbling of the cauldron, accepting the water she thanked her friend before relaxing. "I hope it helps you all, I really do" She said while sitting at the bed with her friend who rested her back against the wall.

"I hope so too, Mordred is always so on edge it makes mother worry" Merlia said softly as she saw Mordred sleeping at another table with his face half covered by a book and his arms.

"Must be nice to have a protective brother" Anberine said softly catching Merlia's attention, smiling brightly Merlia linked her arm with Anberine who didn't jump as they sat with their backs to the wall.

"Well I do have you, Helga and Morgana as my sisters. Also let's not forget Marcus and Perceval, they are like brothers to me as well. So don't think you're ever alone because we're going to be with you no matter what" Merlia winked causing Anberine's face to go red before a sad smile formed on her face.

"Thank you" Anberine said while her voice was only above a whisper, it truly did mean a lot for Merlia to say these things. Anberine even now had no idea as to why her parents had perished but since then it had only been her and her aunt.

Soon Marcus had entered her life and then the one of a kind warm but rebellious hearted Dark Dwellers.

Despite what people said she had always kept to herself mostly thanks to the prince and his group who had made it hard for her to even be friends with anyone.

But seeing her as one of them really surprised Anberine as she never could imagine fitting in anywhere and now. She had people who cared and saw past her faults. It felt... nice.

Before long a sweet fragrance slowly caught her attention.

"Potion's done" and with that she got up and went to the cauldron to turn the fire off.

Startled Merlia watched her before smiling with amused eyes from seeing how quick her friend was to flee when it came to people caring about her.

Then again it was not surprising given her past experiences and Merlia could only hope that her friend would find someone who could help her truly break out of her shell.

"Okay so we need to give him and he'll instantly fall in love with me?" Morgana asked with a curious look as she observed the mini sweet cake that had small white frosting on top of it.

Just looking at it made her feel hungry enough to think of sneaking a bite, but refrained herself from doing so knowing that it would be unwise for so many reasons.

Just knowing that they placed a seriously strong spell in the cake sent gleeful shivers down her spine.

Knowing that they had to give it to the prince and no one else, otherwise their plans would fall apart before any of them would be able to prevent it from escalating into a dangerous situation.

Not to mention it would spark dangers for their kin given that Uther would not hesitate to destroy them.
