Secrets of the Wicked

A plan that was supposed to involve saving her friends turned into a full-blown mess that plagues Anberine wherever she goes. The worst part is that it's not just any boy, it was the King's Son! How will she cope with her bully who now behaves like a puppy on not just any leash- her leash! Short Except- "What could you possibly want with her?" Marcus asked coldly only to pause as he saw Prince Skye show Anberine a withered purple flower which had yellow on the bottom petal that he had in his right jacket pocket. Anberine's mouth parted while her eyes as she narrowed them showed she was in disbelief, what was he up to? "Seriously...? A dead flower?" Anberine asked dryly not at all impressed by what he was up to. "Well it matches your eyes" Skye commented as he saw her newly changed violet eyes which were still not amused, clearing his throat he kept the flower visible "Violets that sparkle, flowers despite withering never suit you anymore than they do now" Skye said mentally blinking at what he was saying. 'Wait what? What did I just say?!' Prince Skye screamed mentally not believing what he had just said. 'Why did I said something so dumb?' he berated himself for the stupid comment. "What?" Marcus was left baffled while Anberine was even more confused, to prove she was confused she tilted her head and her expression showed she was completely lost. "What has he been drinking?" Anberine asked still in shock as she tried to observe any features that would have been off. "Did you sneak a sip from your father's wine cellar? Or did you hit your head when no one was looking?" Anberine asked bluntly now looking at Marcus who shrugged. "I did drink something" Prince Skye admitted causing the pair to stare at him quickly, that was odd why was he admitting anything and to them no less? "I've been drinking in your beauty and for a rat-faced girl, you look cute" he added with a sly smile. -Author's notes- Please let me know what you think, feedback and comments are truly appreciated. A Conspiracy

"Sorry" Anberine waved it off lightly.

"I know, sadly words mean nothing actions do" Skye smiled brittlely knowing that she was right.

"I'll keep that in mind... thank you for being honest" Skye said to her surprise.

"It's hard to find an honest person around here" Anberine rolled her eyes.

"Try getting to know them, you'll be surprised in what you see but just keep in mind Percival is blunt but he is kind. Gawain is a jokester so he acts like he doesn't take anything seriously only it's the opposite, he just wants us to look on the bright side even if it earns him a few punches" Skye snorted loudly causing his face to go red as he covered his mouth.

Seeing this she smirked slightly.

"Wh-What else?" Skye asked as he listened despite covering his mouth, Anberine observed him before her shoulders should from a silent giggle.

"Merlia's good a garment making, she wants to be a clothes maker in the future... that is if she can achieve her dream" Anberine pursed the side of her left mouth from the thought.

"Mordred's her brother, Morgana's not great in potion making and Helga at times doesn't study well" Anberine listed earning her a surprised look from Skye.

"What? You think that they're all smart and studious? Light Dwellers are not so different to Dark Dwellers" Anberine commented with a shrug.

"Oh careful with that" Anberine said catching his attention to the bubbling cauldron.

Lowering the heat Skye relaxed slightly.

"I'm starting to see that, only correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the majority magical?" Skye asked with a curious look.

"About forty two percent, the rest are not magical" Anberine explained surprising him once more.

"How come? If you don't mind me asking" Anberine shrugged as she saw his curious look.

"Magic kept to itself, despite having sympathisers they suffered equally and as time went on they still didn't mix. The past still remained rooted into them even as they were left to suffer like rats in a cage. There were suppose to be ministers in the Dark Realm but they are stuck thanks to Camelot's king. He controls them even now and the last few generation it's gotten worse" Anberine explained.

"Last few?" Skye asked with a confused look.

"I think it's your great grandfather, something about his wife dying and then marrying a duchess" Anberine replied while placing a cupped hand to her lips.

"It's strange, I haven't heard of the assassination. Father never mentioned it to me either" Skye commented before sighing.

"Maybe a conspiracy?" Anberine joked before shrugging.

"What's done is done, whatever happened must have happened for a reason and maybe we may never know what happened"

"Maybe..." Skye bit his bottom lip in thought "Hey you haven't eaten" Skye pointed to the basket earning him an eye roll.

"Yes mum" Anberine droned before grabbing a bowl.

"You... what happened to your parents-I'm just curious that's all!" Skye said while putting his hands up in surrender as she eyed him coldly.

"I promise no bad intentions" Shaking her head Anberine sipped her broth.

"I don't know" Anberine said lowly.

"All I know is that something happened and they went missing but auntie never told me what it was" she added leaving Skye perplexed.

"That doesn't make sense" Skye said with a confused look.

"Add that to the list of people who went missing. If you find out what happened to them let me know" Anberine said dryly as Skye frowned.

"I'll try" Skye said earning him a raised brow.

"I meant the missing people not my parents, if they've been missing this long then there is no hope for them" Anberine sipped the broth quietly.

"I'm serious, if I can I'll find out about them as well. At least if the worst happens they do deserve a proper burial and closure for the family" Skye said with a serious look.

"I mean it, I promise I'll try to find out what has been going on. Just yesterday I heard a girl went missing" Anberine froze from drinking.

"What? How? Who?" Skye's eyes grew sombre.

"A minister's daughter, I don't know exactly what happened but it was in the night. There was no clues or anything. Her room had been ransacked as well which meant" Skye stirred the cauldron once more.

"She tried to put up a struggle" Anberine concluded with a frown.

"But it leaves no clues besides that. It's a mess" Anberine sighed heavily.

"Yeah... what is my father even doing? Surely after hearing that these people are missing should have gotten him investigating and yet, it's like he's behaving like nothing even happened. He's just... too calm even for my liking" Skye commented with a brooding look.

"Well you just better study harder in order to help restore some order then I guess" Anberine said with a light shrug.

A wry smile formed on his face as he looked at her.

"That is IF I am allowed, father's law has me limited" Skye admitted leaving her confused at what Skye meant.

"A prince is not allowed to challenge or question a King's order or actions" Skye explained as Anberine gave him an odd look.

"Well obviously but there should be a clause" Anberine said to his confusion.

"There is always a clause that overturns the rule" Skye sighed.

"If there is I don't see it" Skye muttered as she watched him stir.

"We can look through the old archives, surely the library should have them" Skye shook his head.

"Apparently years ago there was a big clean, old documents were removed from the premises" Anberine stared at him blankly.

"Removed but not disposed. Which means there should be placed somewhere that no one should see" Anberine said causing Skye's shoulders to go up.
