1 Chapter 1

As princess Adeline lay in bed she couldn't help but wonder what the day would bring. The sun slowly made its way through her window creeping into her eyes. Throwing a hand over her face she rolled over and groaned. This day had been coming for quite some time and there was no avoiding it. A knock came at the door as her trusty maid and best friend Anna walked through the door. Her yellow blonde hair made her dark blue eyes appear as deep as the ocean.

"Good morning sleeping beauty." She said with a small smile on her face.

"It's morning alright, but I haven't decided if it's good yet." Anna rolled her eyes and laughed.

"You know we could always just jump out the window and head for the hills." She inched towards the open balcony with a mischievous look in her eyes.

"And you know I couldn't do that to my mother and father. They need this more than anyone. If I don't marry a rich price then our kingdom is doomed. I wish it was different but it's unavoidable. I just hope that the princes that arrive today are decent men." There were ten men coming to prove themselves for her hand in marriage. She had no idea the kind of people they were let alone what kingdom they hailed from. Honestly it didn't matter to her, as long as she saved her family. As the first born daughter it was her duty and fate. And you can't turn down fate.

"You're right, lets get you up and moving then!"

Anna drew a hot bath and placed her beautiful pale green dress on the bed. It was perfect to compliment her black eyes and black long hair. Everyone often referred to her as the dark raven of The Southern Kingdom. Not at all fitting in with her family that only had blonde hair, and blue eyes. She always wondered why she was the only person different. Many of the villagers said that her mother was cursed by the moon when she was pregnant for not honoring the old traditions.

Lost in thought she didn't hear Anna talking in her ear until she splashed water on her face. Blinking water from her eyes she laughed and looked up at her friend. They stayed there looking at each other for a few moments.

"I'm really going to miss you Anna."

"Me too Addie" tears filled her eyes, and Addies.

"The first thing I'm going to do when I meet my new husband is ask for you to come with me."

"That would be wonderful! Let's pray that he's a good man."

It only took Anna an hour to get Addie ready, her ink black hair flowed down her back in loose curls and the small diamonds Anna placed in her hair put the perfect shine to it. Her dress fit perfectly as always, pushing her breasts up and making her waist seem even smaller. Looking at herself in the mirror it all began to feel real. She would never again wake up in her room, or look at herself in this mirror. Such small things she took for granted will be terribly missed.

Holding her head up high she walked to the big doors leading to her future. She threw the doors open, "Okay, lets do this thing."
