The Undoing of My Past, Part 2

Recap

"Yeah! I gotta tell her about the twiplets!" A tear rolls from his left eye.

"It's okay baby, you won't need to tell her... She won't see them ever again."

Harper's P.O.V

"Luna? You don't have to-"

"Yes I do! I have to! If I don't tell someone then people can get hurt..."

My eyebrows furrow together in confusion. Get hurt? Why would they get hurt? Is her dad looking for her? "Luna... What's wrong? There is something you're not telling me."

"Just...Let me continue the story, I will explain everything." Her lip trembles as she continues her story.

"When I had reached my teen years I had begun to realize that daddy wasn't always right, that he couldn't control me, that I was my own person. I guess, in a way, this is where it all started. This could be the one event that changed everything..."

***************Flashback (Luna's P.O.V)********************

"What do you mean you want to fight?!" His face was growing redder by the second.

"I mean I want to fight daddy! I want to be able to defend myself! I want to have something to turn to so that I can let off some steam!" I slam the knife and apple onto the kitchen bench.

"Why can't you just be a normal girl Raven?! Like your mother huh?! She loved to wear dresses, she wore make up whenever she could and she definitely wore more colours other than black and white. You need friends! Girl friends, not that Adrien guy you're always hanging out with!" He was making me angry. How dare he speak about Aidan that way?! Aidan has been there for me more times than I could count.

"It's Aidan not Adrien! I have girl friends, just not girl friends that you approve of! And as for my clothes? Who cares?! Who cares if i'm wearing jeans and a tank top?! Cause I can tell you right now, no one at school cares. Just because I don't wear makeup doesn't mean im not a normal girl! It just means that I'm not ashamed of my natural skin, that my self-esteem isn't as low as the rest of the normal girls at school!" This seemed to make him shut up. Daddy didn't know what was happening at school, he never did. He was always out of the house "doing something" or "going somewhere". It's just not really the same without him.

He lets out a deep sigh and runs his hand through his short silky locks, slightly tugging at them, almost as if he was trying to figure something out.

"Okay." He said after a while. "Okay," He repeated to himself, as if reassuring himself of something. "I will allow you to fight." my face lit up and just as I was about to return to my room to call Aidan he grabs my shoulder. "I will allow you to fight as long as you open yourself up and behave more. This means no more late night sneak outs, no more fights at school and you will hang out with Maria's daughter every Saturday."

I groan, "Maria's daughter? Chelsea? But she is so.."

"Social? I know. Hanging out with Chelsea will do you good. Plus, she loves you."

"No daddy. She loves my hair."

He just shoots me a small smile, "I'm sure she doesn't just like you for your hair sweetheart."

"I'm serious daddy, Jenny from school said that my hair is probably the only thing that's worth looking at." His face grows dark.

"Honey are you getting bullied at school?" Now it was my turn to be quiet, I hadn't told dad anything about this. "Raven. Answer me. Are. You. Getting. Bullied?"

My lips start moving by themselves and suddenly I find myself unraveling. I find myself explaining why I've rebelled, why I want to fight and more importantly, why Aidan is not someone I am willing to give up so easily.

My father's eyebrows furrow and he suddenly turns pink, "I'm- uh...I'm sorry" I suddenly feel my ears burn up.

"So... Can I start fighting?" His face looks a little hesitant.

"...Okay, but i will be expecting no fights at school." He gives me his 'serious dad' stare and points at me.

"And what about Chelsea?" Pouting, I pick my knife back up and cut off a piece of my apple.

My father sighs and massages his temples, "I guess... I guess I have been a bit too harsh... and Chelsea's voice is so annoying." This makes me crack a smile. Dropping the knife and apple onto the bench, I hastily walk towards my father and envelope him in a hug.

"Thank you Daddy!"

*********End of Flashback*************

"After that he would always drive me to every class, to every tournament and he would even fly me to every championship. He was always so supportive of my fighting but that was just it. He could never hold a conversation with me unless it was about my next class, or my next tournament or my next championship. That is until one tournament. The one tournament before the big championships. The one tournament he had decided to bring up a topic that was very sensitive; my mother."

*****************Flashback*****************

"Raven, i have something important to tell you." I turn to my father.

"What is it dad?" His face grows grim, with what? I have no idea.

"You...Your mother... *Sigh* Your mother didn't die in a house fire." At the mention of my mothers death, tears spring to my eyes.

"W-what are you talking about? The heater and the blanket! They caused the house fire! Dad?!" Between my sentences he had quietened down.

"W-what do you mean?" Silence, And not the comfortable kind, presses pause on our conversation. He turns to me and stares me straight in the eyes.

"You don't remember this but, you had siblings" My eyes widen and I cut in.

"Had? What do you mean had?!" He bites his lip and his eyes flick to the road.

***************************End of flashback************

"He was barely paying attention to the road, he didn't see it coming" I look down at my hands.

"He didn't see what coming?" I sigh.

"The car in front of us made a sudden swerve and stopped in the middle of the road, this forced my dad to hit the breaks and stop. The police think that the car behind us didn't see us in time and crashed into the back of our car, apparently the drivers side took most of the impact so my dad had several bits of glass and metal sticking into him, he would have survived if it weren't for his broken rib that had punctured his lung. Apparently in the car behind me was a little boy and his mother, the little boy was in the middle seat at the back but didn't have a seatbelt on and was jumping around, playing with his aeroplanes. He ended up flying through the windscreen just as the mother hit the breaks, he died not long after. When the ambulance arrived the mother was taken to the hospital for immediate care. I on the other hand only suffered from a broken wrist, rib and deep cuts that needed stitches."

He sat there silent... Just as my father did when he didn't want to tell me anything.

"Don't you see?! It's my fault! its my fault my dad and that poor little boy is dead! If I could of just been daddy's little princess and did something that didn't make him drive from tournament to tournament then we wouldn't have been involved in a car crash! They both would be alive!"
