Death?

'I heard she faked the whole thing just to get attention from Cory'

'Oh my god really? Well I'm so happy he didn't fall for that petty excuse of an act'

'Right? I mean I certainly didn't fall for it.'

Scoffing, I walk away. Who do these people think they are? Do they really think I could fake a panic attack? Ughhh just hearing my name pass through their fake lips makes me angry!

"Luna Willows, please come to the principles office. Luna Willows." Oh no. The principle couldn't actually think that I faked it could he? No he can't! If he thinks that then I could get suspended! Anymore time away from this hell and I won't graduate.

Pushing open the office door, I glide into the room. Confidence. The key is confidence.

Instead of waiting outside on the chairs I walk straight in to the office and sit down in the principles chair. Hmmm I wonder where he is?

Huffing, I stand up and look around the room. Plain. Damn, does the principle even have anything personal? Like where are the photos and motivational quotes? I give his desk another once-over and this time my eyes zero on to something. Just as I'm about to check it out the office door swings open and polite laughter fills the room.

"It's going to be great!-Oh, Miss Willows, I assumed you'd wait outside?" What's that I sense in his voice? Disappointment? Well, I've had enough of that for life time so I'm ought to be used to it by now, but obviously I didn't say that.

"Uh, well I thought you were in so..." He bobs his head and turns to the sophisticated yet respectful looking woman who he had walked in with.

"Mrs Joy, this is Luna Willows, the student I was talking about. Luna this is Mrs Joy, the principle of Western-east state high school."

"Uh... I'm sorry what?" My face contorts into a confused expression. What's going on here?

"Oh that's right! You weren't here for the assembly yesterday were you? Well, every year our school hosts one group of students from schools around Australia to give them a sense of what America is like. This year, Jackson Evers chose to host Western-east state high school. The students of Jackson Evers can apply to host a student or, well in your case two students."

"What do you mean 'In my case'?" He lets out a frustrated sigh and rubs his hand over the bald patch at the top of his head.

"The truth, Miss Willows, is that you are not going to graduate next year without a huge push. you have spent way too much time off school -without a doctors certificate- to be able to pass your upcoming exams, so I have spoken to your guardian and he agrees that I need to give you that push."

"So?"

"So, you are going to be hosting two of Mrs Joy's finest students."

"Principle Kibadge, you know I don't get on well with others" As he was about to speak he was cut off by Mrs Joy.

"Oh, not to worry about that. I assure you they won't get in your way. They are both very bright and talented, not to mention that they'd rather keep to themselves than draw unwanted attention to themselves."

I sigh in annoyance and run my fingers through my black wavy hair. "Okay, but I will not be going straight home today so would it be alright if you give them my address and these keys?"

She takes the keys from the palm of my hand and gives me a small smile. "Of course Lena."

Clenching my fists, I glare at her. "It's Luna"

Mr Kibadge clears his throat awkwardly and pushes me to his office door. "I will make sure they get the address and these keys straight away." And with that he slams the door in my face.

///////////Lunch///////////

Instead of going to the cafeteria like I always do at lunch I head to the library. Don't get me wrong, I hate English but that doesn't mean I don't like a good book or two once in a while. That's not what I'm here for though, I'm exhausted. You see, the school's library isn't just for studying or reading, in fact if it weren't for the no food rule then the whole school would most probably be in here. The library is gigantic, there are six stations. The first station is where all the "Nerds" sit ( I don't actually call them nerds, its just so you get the general idea), It's four tables in the close left corner of library surrounded by biographies and books that are now pretty much useless like world records. The second station, is the "Geek" station, it's where people go to game and do whatever else they do on the computers and whatnot. The third is in the far right corner of the Library, that's the study corner, it's kind of like the "Nerds" corner only instead of useless robotic books, the tables are surrounded by shelves and shelves of text books and encyclopedias. The Fourth station is the "Sleeping station". Yes, we have a sleeping station. I'm pretty sure you know how a sleeping station works so I'm not going to waste time explaining how to sleep. The fifth station is just a regular reading station, where people can just kick back and relax with a book or whatever they wanna do. Now the last station, my favourite station. The sixth station is the library basement, no one goes down there except me, and no one will go down there because there are only two people who have the keys. Me and the head librarian.

I walk up to Eleanor Frisk -the head librarian- and give her -what I hoped- looked like a smile.

"Hey Miss Frisk, how was your morning? Did you get those new books shelved?"

She looks up from her book and gives me a concerned glare. "You're rambling child." And looks back down at her book.

"O-oh well uh, I'm just going back down to st—"

"Station six, yes I know. Go on then." She motions me to leave with the flick of her wrist.

I give her an unnoticed nod and walk to the back of the library, unlocking and slipping into my haven.

Walking down the wooden steps, I come to a sudden stop. Something was burning. I could smell it now, but how come I couldn't up stairs?

Slowly, I sneak around the corner only to find that doing that, was a huge mistake.

Fire. Smoke. Nathaniel. Lena. Cory. And someone else...

Cory and the unidentifiable person are yelling at each other, fighting, while Nathaniel and Lena are flicking matches all over my brand new furniture.

My haven... my sweet sweet haven...Hold on.

I had... oh no... Drake. Drake followed me to school this morning so I put him in here! Where is he?!

I start coughing from all the black smoke that is now polluting my lungs. I have got to find him!

"Drake! *cough* Drake where are you? *cough, cough*" I stumble through the smoke blindly. Where is he?! Tears are now pooling in my eyes.

"Drake! Drake come out! Come here puppy!" My throat is starting to hurt from all the smoke and screaming. Banging is heard from behind me, what are those idiots doing?

"Drake, please puppy." I have searched every corner of this room and have ended up where I started from, the door. The others had left already, probably hoping I didn't recognize them. Drake is nowhere to be found and I can faintly hear sirens in the background. I jiggle the door handle. Locked. It's locked I can't get out. I had lost the key somewhere around the bean bag area that is now ablaze.

I'm done. I crumble to the platform only to fall down the stairs and break down, crying whatever tears are left. I'm alone. My family is dead, I left my only real friend in Australia and I have lost Drake. What did I do to deserve this?!

Something in the corner of my eye catches my attention. I shuffle over to it, only to find a piece of broken glass. What will this do to help me?

I could- I could end it? No! I have never been suicidal before and I'm not going to start now. I throw the glass shard to the ground and stand up with whatever strength I could find. Looking around, everything was foggy. I felt as if I wanted to sleep.

At first it was just a temptation, then it turned into an urge, but that phase has passed. Now, sleep was a need, a priority. I could hardly keep my eyes open enough to see the figure coming towards me wearing something in a orangey-yellow type colour. And then, I welcomed sleep in an embrace of dark smoke.

This is it. This is the end.
