59 Origin of The Twelve Realms

"Liu Kai! The Book!" said by a creature that has a humanoid figure, holding a sword and shield from the shadow.

"Who are you? Where are we? And what book?" asked Liu Kai, sitting on the same chair in an empty room with a chessboard-like floor.

Except for this time, there's no mirror in front of him, and he's not tied up—only the creature in the corner of the room, leaning at the wall, is there with him. The darkness engulfed its whole body and only its yellow eyes, glowing in the dark, were clearly visible.

"This is your dream. I'm going to unlock the wisdom you've read in the book." The creature walked closer to him and pressed its thumb to his forehead.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

Liu Kai woke up from his supposed nightmare. But this time, it feels enlightening.

He saw Choi Nayeon lying unconscious beside him, naked under the blanket. Cold sweats dripped out of his face. He grabbed the clothes on the floor and used it to wipe his sweats.

'That creature... He's the carved monster holding a sword and shield under the bed inside the underground dungeon.'

He closed his eyes and tried to calm his heavy breathing by using his formulated breathing technique.

'The book... After the truck hit me, I forgot its contents. But now I could remember it all. How does that creature know about the Origin of the Twelve Realms?'

'Wait... now it's making sense.'

He continued to meditate, knitted his eyebrows, trying to recall everything that he had read.

In the book, the first realm of the twelve is where the slimes reside. The second realm of the twelve is where giant insects live. And the third of the twelve is where the dwarves and goblins exist.

'I thought it's not real. How did my grandfather write that book?'

In the book, the fourth realm is where humans are inhabiting. Same as their world, it was divided into Ten Domains. But that volume is missing, so aside from that information, Liu Kai doesn't know the origin of the creatures unlike in other chapters.

Liu Kai finished reading 9 volumes before he got hit by a truck.

"What are you thinking?"

Liu Kai gazed at Choi Nayeon lying beside him, already awake, but can't move around because her body is in pain from what had happened all night.

"Ohh... I didn't notice that you're already awake."

Liu Kai greeted her with an embrace and kissed her on the forehead.

"It's nothing. How are you?"

"My entire body is aching, thanks to you," she jokingly said before she chuckled.

"I can't move my feet because of cramps. Can you get me some water, please?"

"Alright, hold on."

Liu Kai stood up, exposing his naked back profile and Choi Nayeon looked at it.

'Ahhh~ that butt,' she said to herself.

Liu Kai wore his clothes on and got her a glass of water.

"Here you go."

"Thanks... so how about you?" asked Choi Nayeon before she lifted her body and sat down to grab the glass and drink it.

"I... I'm good. I received enlightenment this morning," Liu Kai awkwardly said, remembering what happened.

"PWUHAHAHAHAHAHA! You... You what? Enlightenment, you say?" asked Choi Nayeon, can't stop laughing at his response.

"By the way, good morning, my boyfriend, kekekeke." Choi Nayeon held his hand and pulled him back to the mattress and hugged him.

"Uh... good morning." Liu Kai scratched his head while Choi Nayeon is on top of him, not freeing him from her embrace.

"By the way... this relationship. I don't think this will last."

"What!? What do you mean!?"

"The Great Catastrophe. I think I know what caused it. I also think I'm the one who can fix this."

"I don't understand a thing about what you said."

"I'll... travel the world to solve this crisis."

"How can a single person solve the crisis of the world? And why does it have to be you? How do you know what caused the Great Catastrophe?"

"I just regained some of my memories this morning and—"

"Liu Kai!" Choi Nayeon frowned and glared at him.

"Are you messing with me?"

Liu Kai stood up to open the closet and found a die on the bottom. He grabbed it and gave it to Nayeon, who's wearing her bra.

"It's going to turn out to be six, just watch." She tossed the dice in the air, and it rolled on the ground, resulting in six.

"You see?"

"You just got lucky."

"Of course, that's my power. Let me roll it again."

Nayeon did the same, and it resulted in six.

'Is this for real?' thought Liu Kai. He got his gaze fixed on the dice earlier, but now he's giving Nayeon a puzzled look.

"If it happens again, I'll believe you," declared Liu Kai.

"Okay, okay!"

Nayeon grabbed the dice while Liu Kai was observing her. Her eyes glowed purple for a second before she hurled the dice into the air.

'It's real,' Liu Kai said to himself, still staring at Nayeon and disregarding the dice.

"See! Do you believe me now?" Nayeon asked after she saw the dice stopped on the floor.

Liu Kai turned his eyes to the dice and saw the same outcome.

"How many times can you do this?"

"Five times a day. Uhm... Are... are you upset with me?" Choi Nayeon worriedly asked.

"Why would I?"

"I used it to get you."

"No, it doesn't work like that."

"What do you mean? You know my ability?"

"Yes!"

Liu Kai smirked, seeing her girlfriend use the skill he knows.

'It's in the book's glossary.'

"Okay... So... Are you going to let me join you now?"
