1 Chapter 1: The Dream

I was standing in the middle of a forest clearing with tall blades of grass crawling up my legs. There, I heard it again. Not two yards away, a young, injured fawn lay in the tall grass, crying and whimpering for help. The crying was quite unnerving, since it was peircing straight through the quiet darkness.

Suddenly my muscles locked in its place. From the edge of the clearing, a feminine figure stepped into the moonlight. How unnatural, this movement was so feminine but feline at the same time. Almost as if a lioness were making its approach toward her prey.

As she made her soundless approach, stalking through the moonlight, her face came into view. My, it was a beautiful face. My mind scrambled. The face was so immensely beautiful that I was having a hard time remembering it. Her silky, straight, black hair laid still on her perfect shoulders.

The closer she moved the more details I discovered. Though she was quite close now, I was having a hard time settling her face in my memory, it seemed new every second. Then I laid my eyes over the one feature of her face that sent chills down my spine: her eyes. They were blood-red. No mayter how many seconds passed, and how many times her face became new to me, her eyes stayed firm in my memory.

Suddenly, out of no where, a swift breeze penetrated the clear, windless night, and blew straight from behind me and into her face, tossing her hair arround her face. All this time, her eyes had stayed glued to the young fawn, as if I wasn't even there. Her head snapped up, and her eyes locked with mine. Her posture was tense, but as her scanned me, she relaxed, as if she saw I was easy prey. She rolled back on her heels and took a more feminine posture. He long legs and arms came closer together, as if she were posing for me.

Without a warning, some highly dominant part of me wished to approach her, get to know her. The smaller more sane part of me new that this decision of mine would lead me to certain doom.

Even though my sanity screamed at me, my hand reached up and extended it self forward.

The girl's expression became amused and the corners of her lips turned up. Then her entire postire changed, as her back curved inwards, her arms and legs took an athletic stance, and her lips curled, revealing a set of perfectly healthy white teeth, and two fangs. The moonlight glinted off her teeth. She sprang at me.
