Not so many knew who the war god is, since he hadn't shown himself on the media or Tv.

They only hear the news and tales of his impressive feat in the concluded war. He's not the type of celebrity people would want to learn about, compared to superstar musicians, movie artists and football players.

At the moment, Ray had just arrived at the Munroe's mansion, and his surbordinate, Zo had immediately left, on his order.

Though, during the ride to the wedding venue, Ray had grabbed a pair of suit that was bought by Zo. It doesn't look expensive but it wasn't cheap either.

Due to the rush to catch up with the wedding, she had just selected a random black suit. Ray's stuff was still being shipped to his hometown, it will take about two days before it arrives, all along with his cars and other properties.

Since Grace was his first love, and it has been a very long time he had seen her, he was so keen to meet her again. What he didn't expect was for the wedding to be set so early.

The Monroe family had invited all their friends and family members; all of whom were wealthy and influential in one way or the other.

When Ray arrived, Bruce Monroe, his father-in-law had spotted him and had immediately went to approach him. His current look was the same as what he looked five years ago, so he was easily recognised by him.

"Hi Ray, it's been so long. I wasn't expecting to see you here. I thought you joined the military five years ago, why have you come to see us in such a short notice."

"I sent you a mail two weeks ago about my arrival. And since I'm already engaged to your daughter, I assumed you arranged today for our marriage. Or, is someone else doing lwedding today in your family?"

Ray objected as he looked around, trying to catch a glimpse of the bride, but he couldn't find her anywhere.

"Ah, the mail. You must be mistaken Ray. My daughter has no aim of marrying someone like you."

Hearing this, Ray had turned to look at Bruce. "What do you mean someone like me?" He asked.

At that moment, someone had approached the two of them from the side. And it happened to be Grace's mother.

"Even though it's been five years, you still look as worthless as ever. I heard you're still a corporal in the army and have yet to receive any promotion. Just how useless will you continue to be?"

Mia wasn't giving Ray a face at all. It was as if he had offended her before.

"Father, mother. What do you mean? Isn't this suppose to be our wedding. Are you playing a prank on me right now?" Ray was so dumbfounded by the duo's action.

"Does it look like we're joking to you?" Bruce stated. "I've said this before, and I'll repeat it again. My daughter has no plan in marrying you."

"But I thought you agreed for me to marry your daughter after five years. We even signed a contract five years ago." Ray said as he showed them the contract.

His presence in the room had immediately been noticed by everyone.

"Who is this trashy little fellow? Who does he think he is?"

"Unbelievable, does he think he's fit to marry the Munroe's daughter because of some stupid contract?"

"That will put a shame to the Munroe's legacy. A poor scrawny ruffian marrying the Munroe family's daughter? Impossible!"

"Let's have him sent out before the groom's family arrives."

All members of the Munroe family were greatly enraged at Ray. After hearing that he was a low ranked soldier in the army, they started thinking of him as nothing.

If anything, he can't be compared to the husband that Grace would be marrying soon. He's also in the army, being at a rank higher than that of Ray,… according to their thoughts.

The higher the rank or star you have, the higher the respect and salary you will receive. So they thought a low ranked soldier like Ray, would be receiving the least amount of respect and salary, compared to a middle ranked soldier like Simon Grayson.

The guests had came here today to give Grace their well wishes since she would be married off today. What they didn't expect was for a shabby looking man to come here and present an engagement contract from five years ago.

Bruce as well was enraged by this fact. Of course he hadn't forgotten about Grace's engagement to Ray. But he had intentionally ignored it since Ray wasn't someone he was fond of.

Also, his daughter's marriage to the Grayson family wouldn't just strengthen the union between both families, but also make them more influential than before.

So when the Grayson proposed the idea to him, he had immediately agreed for Simon to marry his daughter.

At first when he saw Ray appearing all of a sudden, it had came to him as a shock, but then he calm himself down as he had nothing to fear. After all Ray was nothing but a low ranked soldier in the military.

With his alignment with the Grayson family, he would have more connections, among those which includes getting close to the army general, who was also known as the god of war.

He could imagine himself dining with such an important person. It has always been his dream to be friends with a high ranked military personnel.

If only he knew who Ray was, he would have realised that his dream was nothing but a vivid imagination that couldn't come true.

"Though, you and Grace were previously engaged to each other. Over the past few months, things have changed slightly. As you might have guessed, today is my daughter's marriage, but instead of you, she's marrying someone else."

A realisation had hit Ray but he wasn't willing to accept it. He didn't believe them either.

"I don't believe you. You're forcing Grace to do this, aren't you? I won't back down until I see Grace and she confirms that this is her choice." Ray was adamant on his decision.

"I'd advise you, Ray. Leave before the groom arrives. He's a high ranked soldier and won't tolerate having anyone mess up his marriage. So, for your own sake, leave now."

Bruce warned him, though it sounded more like an order. Yet Ray won't budge. He didn't even act as if he was listening.

"What's the name of the groom?" Ray asked.

"Simon Grayson." Bruce replied. "He may not be a general but he holds a high position in the army."

The name doesn't ring a bell to Ray at all. If he was indeed someone with a high position, he should at least know him.

His only thought was that maybe he was a middle ranked soldier who was already boasting around to his family members and friends for holding a high position in the army.

Scoffing, Ray had replied. "Why would I be afraid of someone like him."

To Bruce, it may sound as if Ray was trying to act brave. But in reality, Ray's rank was far higher than Simon's.

Bruce sighed, he wasn't fazed by his act either. If anything, he was hoping Ray would misbehave or act rashly in front of Simon. Since his thoughts was that Simon held a higher position than Ray.

He knew if Ray was to refuse his warnings and decides to start a fight. He was confident that his son-in-law, Simon would easily be able to deal with him.

At that moment, the groom's family had arrived in the hall, along with the groom who was accompanied by a few soldiers. He was dressed in his full military uniform, with his title and name displaying proudly on it.

The bride had also came out from the other side of the hall. Recognising her, Ray had went to approach her.

Although many people had reacted negatively to this…

"No! Where's he going?"

"He's going to ruin this party!"

"Someone should stop him immediately!"
