2 Wedding of the year
Li Xiaolu looked at her parents in disbelief. She simply couldn't believe her eyes. Seeing their unmoved, unshocked cold reaction, her heart broke into several pieces. She was so confused and broken. Everything was a mess. Her heart and her mind weren't working properly. She had so many questions.
Were they really her parents?
Why are they silent?
Why are they giving her that cold look?
Suddenly, her eyes fell on her fiance, Chen Yufan. Seeing him being totally unaffected by her plight, she was in doubt. Was this really happening? Or was it all just a bad dream? If it was then she wanted to wake up as soon as possible. But the pain shooting through her body reminded her that it was not a dream, but reality.
"Yufan," she called out his name. "Why? Today is our marriage -"
"Our marriage?" Chen Yufan chuckled, interrupting her in between. "Li Xiaolu, who are you kidding? Have you looked at yourself in the mirror? Do you think I would marry you?"
"Why are you doing this to me? " she cried out.
"I never loved you Li Xiaolu. It was all an act," Chen Yufeng informed coldly.
Tears began to fall from her eyes. She wasn't shocked by his cruel words but they did break her heart. She had loved this man for so long and yet, he called it all a joke. Why? If he didn't like her, then why did he ask her to be his girlfriend? If he didn't love her, then why was he in a relationship with her for over four years? If he didn't want her, then why did he propose to her?
"Why?" she asked, crying.
"Because of me!"
Suddenly she heard a laugh, coming from behind her. Those words made her heart cold. She turned her head and saw Li Roulan - her sister and Meng Xuimin - her best friend coming alighting down the stairs. Li Xiaolu stared at Li Roulan with several questions in her eyes but she ignored her. Instead, she walked toward Chen Yufan and hugged him right in front of her, kissing him on his cheeks. "Brother Yufen, I missed my handsome groom..." she said coquettishly.
Chen Yufang smiled at her, with a warm and loving emotion in his eyes that Li Xiaolu had never seen before. "I missed my beautiful bride too," he said, kissing her on her forehead.
Li Roulan blushed. Hugging his arm, her eyes fell on Li Xiaolu and she smirked. "Brother Yufan, did you tell her that you don't love her?"
"I did."
"Then who do you love? Who does your heart belong to?" Li Roulan flirted.
"You," Chen Yufan answered.
Li Xiaolu simply closed her eyes not wanting to see this scene anymore. Her heart was already broken yet, the pain felt fresh, with every action hurting her even more and more. Every part of her body was aching, and slowly and slowly it was all going numb like a withered flower. She gave up struggling, closing her eyes and wanting to go into a deep sleep.
Li Roulan smiled victoriously when she looked at Li Xiaolu's state. This was what she wanted. Her heart was so happy today. She signaled the guards and they nodded in obedience. One of them took out a small injection and began to inject Li Xiaolu's arm.
Feeling pain in her arm, Li Xiaolu looked at the guard who was injecting her with something. Fear and shock flashed through her eye and her body shook. "No! Stop!" she yelled but they simply laughed at her. "What are you doing to me? No! Stop! I beg you! Please stop!" she screamed but no one paid any attention to her.
Finally, the injection began to work. Her head started to spin and her eyes felt heavy. They have already broken her, what more can they do to her? She thought and looked at everyone. A bitter sad smile crept upon her lips and eventually, her world went black.

Everything was dark. Everything felt heavy. When she opened her eyes and squinted through the entire surrounding, she was scared. She didn't know where she was or what was going on. It looked like a small abandoned room where no one would usually go. She was all alone, tied to a chair in a dark cold place. Pain was shooting through her entire body.
She tried to struggle against the ropes binding her but the strength had completely left her body. Recalling all the prior events, tears began to fall from her eyes. Why?
Why were they doing this to her?
A family is supposed to love and protect each other. Then why did they stab her in the back like that? If Li Roulan liked Chen Ruyan then she could have told her so. What was the need of doing this? Why did they play with her like that?
She, Li Xiaolu was the eldest young miss of the Li family. From a young age, she was exceptionally beautiful and also had a very talented brain. Her family loved her very much and she was an extremely obedient child. She was told to keep her beauty and her identity hidden. For what reason? She didn't know but being an obedient child, she did what they told her.
She had two younger siblings Li Roulan - her younger sister and Li Yifeng - her younger brother. Her parents had bought her a different apartment to live in as she was told to stay away from the family. Nobody, knew about her as her parents only introduced Li Roulan and Li Yifeng to society.
She loved and believed her parents so much that she never inquired about the reason. They loved her and that was enough for her. Being the eldest, she had many responsibilities and rules to follow. She took their actions as a part of her training because she was the eldest and has to live up to their wishes. On the contrary, her younger siblings were pampered and spoiled the most.
After her studies got completed, her dad realized that she was very good at handling business so she helped her dad, behind the scenes to make Li Corporations one of the top five companies in the business world. Since she was not interested in the business world at all, all the credit for her hard work was taken by her younger brother Li Yifeng. She didn't care about it, and gladly let Yifeng take the credit as he was her brother.
Also, The Li family and the Chen family were old friends. They would usually host all family dinners, and outings together. So, at one such family dinner, Li Xiaolu accidentally met Chen Yufan who had returned from abroad. He was a very handsome man and she fell in love with him at first sight. When she fell in love with him, she didn't know who he was but later on, she realized that he was the heir of the Chen Family.
Being a shy young girl, she never acted upon her feelings. She maintained her distance from him, only admiring him from afar. He possessed a certain charm around the woman and it was inevitable that she fell for him. She didn't think he would end up liking her, but when he confessed his feelings to her, she was on cloud nine. They grew closer and soon began dating each other.
From the very start, she wanted to be an actress as acting was her passion. But being the eldest child, she had certain responsibilities and couldn't work in the entertainment industry. So, her dream to become an actress was rejected by her parents and hence, she decided to be a fashion designer instead. She opened her own studio and became the famous mysterious designer, LX.
Her younger sister also wanted to pursue acting and her parents encouraged her. Li Xiaolu felt happy for her sister and never objected to her parent's words. Listening to her sister and Chen Yufan's words, many times Li Xiaolu would act as her substitute. Her dad consulted a lot of specialists who could make a fake human skin mask for them.
Fame never mattered to her. She was happy that even if she had to wear a mask of Li Roulan's face, she at least had the opportunity to fulfill her heart's wish. Because of her, today, Li Roulan is known as 'Goddess Li', one of the most wonderful actresses of this time. Similarly, she also helped her best friend Meng Xuimin by composing songs for her.
Li Xiaolu cried remembering the day when Chen Yufan proposed to her. It was the happiest day of her life. But who knew the people whom she loved and cared about the most, the people for whom she sacrificed and did everything would be the ones to snatch away her everything.
"So guys? Are you all excited?"
Suddenly Li Xiaoly heard a voice. She looked up and noticed a small TV kept right in front of her. She quickly noticed that it was showing the live broadcast of Li Roulan and Chen Yufang's wedding. Hate filled her eyes as she sneered at the TV.
"Well, I am!!!! Today I am happy to be a part of one of the most awaited weddings of the year. Yeah! You heard me right. Our goddess Li is finally getting married to her childhood sweetheart, Mr. Chen Yufan. Unlike other celebrities, our goddess Li wants us to become a part of her wedding, and hence, we are going to broadcast the wedding live."
