Housekeeper Su

Xie Eun woke up feeling refreshed for the first time in a long while.She had expected to be overrun with feelings of guilt and sorrow in her first night here.But unexpectedly, she had slept through the night..She pushed away the blanket that draped her and tried to think how she has gotten here but had no recollection of that..She had been in her father's study and crying...Realizing, that Yu Seok must have place her here, she felt a warmth flow through her heart.She was really lucky to have such a caring friend, she thought to herself once again.His care for her made her feel wistful..She had 'gained' two brothers in recent years but they could not even be bothered to look at her..

Xie Eun thought back to the big family she had gotten to know over these months..They were actually her maternal family.Her father's parents had died young and he had been the only child while her mother's family had been alienated with her father.Of course she came to know of this when her maternal grandmother came to the village to visit her the morning after her father's death and pay her condolences.

At first she had been overjoyed at the realization that she still had family..and accepted her grandmother's invitation to live with their family with alacrity.She had planned to go to the city either way and having the chance to live in a big family was like a dream to her.And so Aunt Su and her had packed their bags and left for the city..

However her illusion of family had shattered in the first week itself...

At first, she had been warmly welcomed by her mother's younger brother,his wife and their three children.She had been so happy to have two brother and a sister...but then she had slowly realized that their attitude..It was polite on the surface but they looked down at her....She did not understand why though..As she tried to mix in, it got even more and more difficult until she stumbled upon the truth as one of her 'brother' who was coincidenfally a good friend of Si Jing had teased him for being engaged to a country bumpkin like her who would never fit in their high society.She heard him insult her from her looks to her tomboy attitude to her clumsiness .The disdain and contempt in that tone of voice had crushed her dreams of having a loving family..She had finally opened her eyes to her surroundings and slowly accepted the harsh reality..Thankfully Si Jing had defended her and claimed that she did not need to fit in his society as long as he liked her...at that moment, Si Jing had sealed his place in her heart and erased all doubts.If he had agreed with her brother, she would have been crushed...

And this she had slowly started to distance herself from her toxic cousins and moved into the university dorm..Her grandmother and uncle had tried to stop her and coax her but she dare not tell them as they would feel guilty.So she had adamantly moved out with only one request..Let Aunt Su stay there..as a domestic help...After moving out of the house, Xie Eun would spend her weekends with Si Jing who would drive her around showing her different things in the city or going away to the outskirts of the city to see beautifull landscapes...and sometimes they would spend their evenings quietly at his house watching movies...It was at these moments that things would escalate inevitably end in arguments over her reluctance to be intimate with him..The first time this happened, she went back to her dorm cursing herself for what happened and that Wolf for being an obstruction in her way..Not once did she blame Si Jing..and inadvertently after a few days of calming down, Si Jing apologized to her and the matter was finished..But Xie Eun was worried the next weekend and this time when Si Jing planned to get together, Xie Eun excused herself claiming that she needed to visit Aunt Su..She really had been meaning to meet Aunt Su and thus had planned to give her a surprise and did not feel guilty over ditch Si Jing.

But she was the one who had been surprised or rather shocked..because she had reached home just in time to see her 'sister' try to slap Aunt Su.She had rushed forward to stop that and pushed the girl back harshly..Only then had she realized that the rest of the family was present and no one had tried to stop this.and all the other servants were also standing there watching everything...She turned to see the tears of humiliation in Aunt Su's eyes and came to an awful realization...She thought that she had matured but even then she had been naive...these people who had no compassion for their own blood would not show the same to someone they deemed below them...Chances were that Aunt Su had suffered this treatment in the past also but been quiet for her sake..However before Xie Eun could open her mouth to reprimand her,the girl had turned her viciousness on her,"Here is the real thief!"
