Chapter 12

The large warehouse stores RVs and unused props. Gemma tried her best to close the door quietly. She cringed when it echoed as it closed.

"I'm definitely no ninja," she said to herself.

The warehouse seemed empty, her guess everyone was on set or doing other things. But she didnt want to take a chance of someone being in one of the RVs.

"Where do I start?" she asked herself looking around.

Gemma began at an RV with Scheving on the side of it. She smiled at herself and hoped it was unlocked. She tried the door but it didn't open. Walking around to the back she found another door that was unlocked.

Making sure no one snuck in the warehouse, Gemma entered there spacious RV.

"Now if I was information where would I be?" she said tapping her chin with her index finger.

Gemma looked under there mattress in the room at the very back all the way to the dash board in the front but found nothing.

"No matter how hard I try, there's just nothing that links Magnús to Sportacus," she said sighing and taking a seat.

There was a sudden noise in the warehouse that caused her to stand up abruptly. Muffled talking could be heard. Gemma quietly stood next to a small window and peeked out. Sportacus was standing there with Stefan.

A gasp slipped her lips and she threw her hand to her mouth. Or appeared to her that Stefan possibly lied about what he had told her. Gemma took her phone out and started recording.

"I can't find Gemma anywhere," Stefan was saying scratching his head. "She said she was going to the restroom but never returned."

"Maybe she got lost," Sportacus said. "Don't worry, I'll find her."

Stefan nodded and left the warehouse leaving Sportacus in his thoughts.

Gemma held her breath when he looked in her direction. She moved away from there window and put her hand over her beating heart.

"I feel like I got caught with my hands in the cookie jar," she thought.

She listened closely and heard his footsteps grow faint as he left the area. Gemma peeked out the back door and easily slipped out of the warehouse unseen. Her heart was beating so fast someone might be able to hear it if the room was quiet enough.

"Gemma," Stefan's voice startled her. "I've been looking everywhere for you."

"Sorry," she said trying to calm herself. "I got distracted after I left the bathroom then I got lost."

He smiled. "I'm glad I found you. Magnús returned and we split up to find you."

"Well here I am," she said a little nervous. "Where's Magnús?"

"I'm not sure," Stefan said leading the way to the room they were at before. "Maybe hes returned to the room."

Magnús was in the room, in fact. He was standing by the large window staring outside at the snow the started falling. Gemma ran to the window and glanced out as she if she never saw snow before.

"So pretty," she exclaimed with a child-like smile.

"I see Stefan found you," Magnús chuckled.

"I got distracted when I left the restroom and then I got lost," she said avoiding eye contact.

A small wave of guilt washed over her for lying twice. Then again her entire trip was lying to him and she hated that. Why couldnt she be truthful without the fear he would hate her? Was it because she actually liked him a lot or perhaps because she knew she was doing wrong to a good person?

"Maybe I should stay at the hotel," she stated accidentally out loud.

Magnús looked at her confused. "Is that what you want?"

Gemma met eye contact and immediately shut her mouth and shook her head. "Not really... I'm sorry... I have some things on my mind."

"I'm always willing to listen," he said putting a hand on her shoulder.

She gave a faint smile and stared at her feet. "I know. I'm still not ready to talk about it."

He nodded and shared a look with Stefan who motioned for him to follow.

"I'll be right back," Magnús said, giving Gemma a gently and slow kiss on the forehead.

She closed her eyes to take in the moment. Her heart beating fast from his touch.

Once Magnús and Stefan were alone, his friend began telling him his troubles.

"I dont think she's here for reasons shes told you," Stefan said bluntly.

Magnús looked at the ground. "I know, friend. I'm just hoping she will tell me the truth whenever shes ready."

"By that time it will be too late and hearts will break. I think you need to let her know that you know something doesnt seem right here," Stefan said shaking his head. "She's a nice woman. But I think she's only here for a story on Sportacus and find out your secret."

Magnús sighed and crossed his arms. His friend's words ringing true in his ears. Although he didnt want to admit it but he knew Gemma was hiding something. He knew she was in his RV because he had seen her enter it when he was in his airship looking through his telescope down into the warehouse through the large sky windows.

"I will figure something out," Magnús said patting his friend's shoulder.

"Good luck," Stefan said.

The hardest decision was about to be made for him. But first he needed to find out where she stood in all of this and why she actually came here.

Gemma waiting patient yet intently for his return. She wondered what they were talking about but didn't want to take the chance of listening in. She nearly got caught earlier.

"Are you ready to go for lunch?" Magnús asked peering inside the room.

She nodded and followed him out the the car. They were both quiet which made her anxious.

"Listen, about when I said I should probably go to my hotel..." she spoke up gaining his attention immediately. "I'm just... having some feelings I dont understand because I've never felt them. And I'm only here for a short time and I dont want to get involved in my feelings..."

Magnús suddenly pulled the car over, startling her a bit. He got out and went to her side and opened it.

"Magnús..." she began but he unclipped her seatbelt and pulled her out into a warm embrace.

He eyes opened wide but closed and snuggled in his warm chest. The snow was falling heavier now but she didnt care. Gemma took in his scent and the warmth of his hug made her melt.

"I'm sorry Magnús, for being so much trouble," she began again. "I don't..."

He didnt let her finish. He pulled away enough to caress her face in his palms and softly kiss her lips, which he longed for since her first met her.

Gemma was surprised but gave in to his deep soft kiss. She knew she would have to make up her mind soon. And this wasn't making the decision any easier.
