The Move

Chapter 2: The Move

Celeine's P.O.V

The next day, I woke up feeling refreshed and ready for school. I put on my uniform, a white shirt and a navy blue skirt, and tied my long black hair in a ponytail. I grabbed my backpack and headed downstairs for breakfast.

"Good morning, mom. Good morning, dad." I greeted my parents, who were sitting at the dining table.

"Good morning, sweetheart. How are you feeling today?" My mom asked, smiling at me.

"I'm feeling great, mom. Thanks for asking." I replied, taking a seat and pouring some cereal into a bowl.

"That's good to hear. You have a big day ahead of you, right?" My dad said, looking at me with a proud expression.

"Yeah, I do. Today is the first day of the exams. I'm a little nervous, but I think I can do well." I said, trying to sound confident.

"You don't have to be nervous, honey. You are a smart and hardworking girl. You will ace the exams, I'm sure of it." My mom said, giving me a reassuring hug.

"Thanks, mom. You're the best." I said, hugging her back.

"And don't forget, you have a PTA meeting after school. We will be there to support you and see your progress." My dad said, patting my shoulder.

"I know, dad. I won't forget. I'm looking forward to it." I said, smiling at him.

"Good. Now, finish your breakfast and get going. You don't want to be late, do you?" My dad said, checking his watch.

"No, I don't. I'll be going now. Bye, mom. Bye, dad. Love you both." I said, finishing my cereal and getting up from the table.

"Bye, sweetheart. Love you too. Have a good day." My mom and dad said in unison, waving at me.

I grabbed my backpack and headed to the door. I put on my shoes and opened the door. As soon as I stepped outside, I saw a familiar face waiting for me.

"Hey, Celeine. Good morning." It was Jason, the boy who caught my attention yesterday. He was leaning against his car, a black sports car, and wearing a casual outfit, a black leather jacket, a white t-shirt, and blue jeans. He looked even more handsome than yesterday.

"Um hi? What are you doing here Jason?" I said What was he doing here? I thought.

"I was wondering if you need a ride to school. I'm going that way anyway." He said, flashing me a charming smile.

"Um, thanks for the offer, but I usually walk to school. It's not that far." I said, politely with a straight face.

"Come on, don't be shy. It's no trouble at all. Besides, walking is boring. Riding with me is much more fun." He said, winking at me.

"I'm sure it is, but I really prefer walking. It's good for my health." I said, trying to sound firm even though my heart was racing.

"Health hmm... You're already fit and healthy with a nice body You don't need to walk. You need to live a little." He said this while scanning my whole body with his eyes which painted my cheecks in 55 shades of red.

I looked at him, feeling torn. He was being very persistent and persuasive. He seemed genuinely interested in me, and I had to admit, I was curious about him too. But I also remembered what happened with Alex, and how he broke my heart. I didn't want to go through that again. I didn't want to fall for another player.

"Sorry, Jason. I appreciate your kindness, but I really have to go. Maybe some other time." I said, turning around and walking away.

"Wait, Celeine. Don't go. At least give me your number. I promise I won't bother you. I just want to talk to you." He said, following me.

"I don't think that's a good idea, Jason. I'm sorry." I said, quickening my pace.

"Please, Celeine. Just one chance. That's all I ask" He said, grabbing my arm and stopping me.

I looked at him, feeling his grip on my arm. He looked at me with a pleading expression, his eyes shining with sincerity. He was so close to me, I could feel his breath on my face. He smelled good, like leather and cologne. He was so handsome, I felt my heart skip a beat.

"Please, Celeine. Say yes." He whispered, leaning closer to me.

I felt a surge of emotions, a mix of fear, excitement, and attraction. I didn't know what to do, what to say. I was about to say something, when I heard a loud honk.

"Hey, Jason. What are you doing? Let's go, man. We're late." It was one of his friends, who was sitting in the passenger seat of his car. He looked at me with a smirk, as if he knew what was going on.

Jason looked at his friend, then at me. He sighed, and let go of my arm.

"I'm sorry, Celeine. I have to go. But I'm not giving up on you. I'll see you at school." He said, giving me a quick kiss on the cheek.

He ran back to his car, got in, and drove away. I stood there, stunned, touching my cheek where he kissed me. I felt a tingling sensation, and a warm feeling in my chest.

What just happened? Did Jason just kiss me? Why did he do that? What does he want from me? Does he really like me, or is he just playing with me?

I had so many questions, but no answers. I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. I had to focus on the exams, not on Jason. He was not worth my time, or my heart.

Just then Ria came and huged me from back. And what she said jungshoocked me "heyy~Celeine~ why was the school's heartrob talking to you so nicely? And he even gave you a kiss!! Oh my gwaddd!!"

"Oh Ria he is just playing with me nothing else!" I said.

"Why dont you give him a chance?" said Ria.

"Give him a chance? after what alex did to me?? NO way!"

Ria then said nothing because she knew how much I love him.

We continued walking to school and I was hoping to forget the encounter. But I couldn't. Jason was stuck in my mind, and in my heart.
