“Because the department has some very savvy computer experts, as I’ve already said. Two emails, from the same anonymous address, sparked my interest so I asked them to see if they could trace it. You’re good, Amery, but not as good as you think. The address came back linked to you.”
Amery shrugged. “I won’t deny it, since obviously at this point I can’t. But there’s no big mystery about why I sent them anonymously. The first one, concerning the missing Mercedes? As we’ve said, we’re particularly fascinated with that house. If we were rich, and it was available, we’d snap it up in a heartbeat. Right, Myles?”
