Chapter sixty two Precious miracle

When he got to Janice's room she was surrounded by the prayer warriors from his church, so without interrupting he joins them in prayer, half an hour later he took a seat next to her bed as they said their goodbyes to the ladies. "How are you feeling?" He asks softly. "I don't know, I won't be able to go home because I'm spotting again and the cramps are back." She sobs. " I'm scared that I won't be able to carry this baby to term and I'm also scared that you will change your mind about marrying me." She cried.

"I'll marry you in this hospital if I have to, and I'm not calling off our wedding and God knows how badly I…..need this child, and whether our baby lives or dies it's up to God." He said with tears in his eyes. She squeezes his hand as a serge of pain ran through her. "I really don't want to lose this child, God please, help me." She cried. "He will baby, we just need to have faith, but one thing is for sure, whatever God has in store for us, I want us to face it as husband and wife." "I want that too, so much." She said forcing a smile.

"What do your cramps feel like?" He asks massaging her hand. "A little like a contraction, but not as painful, yet very uncomfortable." She said searching through her bag." The doctor says that we will soon be able to see the sex of our baby." She said with a smile and dried her eyes. "That's wonderful but in the meantime, we're going to treasure every moment we have with this precious little miracle. He said kissing her lips softly.

"There'll be none of that Dr. Jackson." The doctor said entering the room. "Sorry but I don't think I'll ever be able to stop doing this." He laughs. "Okay but I need to take Miss. Janice for a few more tests." She said putting the wheelchair next to the bed, he then helps Janice off the bed and walks with them down the passage; he was almost to the examination room when a message came in from Martin saying that he was on his way to Janice's room. He stayed until she was settled then left to find Martin.

Tyler reached the room as Martin emerges from inside. "Oh there you're, now I know you don't have much time and you really don't owe me any explanations but I'm so shocked and confused that I just couldn't stay away." He said scratching his head. "Come on let's get some fresh air," Ty suggests heading down the passage. "Where is Susan?" He asks observing their surroundings.

"She's in the car, says her feet hurt," Martin replied. "Now I've to admit, I was floored to hear that you were engaged and speechless when I got your invitation and realized that it was next month, then I showed up at your church this morning only to hear that your fiancée was in the hospital due to a difficult pregnancy. Is that the reason you are marrying this girl?" Martin asks cautiously.

"No, I proposed to her before I knew she was pregnant, actually if Kayla hadn't attacked her we probably still wouldn't have known." Ty chuckles. "Did she know you were seeing Janice?" "Yes, she found out when she showed up at my birthday party, man, she was pissed, she actually accused me of cheating on her, can you believe that?" "After everything she did to you? She is crazy but how long have you known this girl anyway?" Martin asks.

"I met her the same night I caught Kayla in bed with that man, She was hurt and needed someplace to stay and since my parents practically lives for people like her, I took her to the hospital then when she was release we took her home, she has been living with us ever since," Ty explains. "And you and she were together all this time?" "No, we were just friends, you know how I'm around the girls that my mom takes in, but I would be lying if I said that she hadn't been my rock through all this." He said shaking his head.

"She laughs with me, cries with me, and did everything she could to cheer me up when I was down even if it was just for a few minutes, we weren't intimate until about two months ago." "Wasn't there any sign that she was pregnant?" Martin asks. "There were signs but she didn't know what they meant, she said that she had her period for four days, two weeks before and she was also cramping which she thought was from her period, but it turns out that she was feeling exactly what she's feeling now." "So she could have miscarried without even knowing that she was pregnant?" "Looks that way," Ty said with a deep breath. "Well, Kayla may not have known that your girl was pregnant but she knew Susan was and she still attacked her," Martin said taking a deep breath. "She did, really?" Ty asks in surprise.

"Yep she did, but don't worry I set her straight about that, she won't be coming near my wife again but on the other hand, I know how much you want this child so Susan and I will, of course, be praying for you all, now I could be wrong but I personally think that if God was going to take this kid from you he would have done it before you knew it existed, she might be having a difficult time right now but I think that she and your kid are going to be okay ." "You mean that?" Ty asks skeptically. "Yes I do, my days of acting like a selfish, envious jackass are over," Martin assures him. "Thanks for coming by….I….think I should be getting back….to her…I'll keep you posted," Ty said patting Martin's shoulder, then turns and walks away.

The following morning everyone heard when Ty came through the front door, they held their breath and wait in anxious anticipation for him to come through the kitchen door, and when he didn't they all piles from the kitchen and up the stairs. They found him on his knees his body shaking as he sobs. His parents walk over, bent down beside him, and place their hand on his shoulder.

A few minutes later he turns around and sat on the floor, his parents still by his side. "Is she and the baby alright?" His father asks. "Defines alright?" Ty asks in a shaky breath. "You know, I can't help wondering what I did that was so wrong that God feels the need to punish me like this," Ty said tears running down his face. "Ty don't, it's not…" "What, not my fault? He asks cutting his mom off. "Then why can't I catch a break, I forgive Kayla, I forgive Martin, I even turn in my gun because more than once Kayla has pushed me way too close to using that thing."He said then continues.

"I've rid my life of everything I could think of that would block my prayers and it still may not be enough because the doctor is now telling me that they are doing everything they can but there's a possibility that she may not be able to carry this child to term." He said his body trembling. "And you still didn't tell me what you were doing at the hospital that day," Ty asks Caleb.

"Let's just say right place at the right time," Caleb said. "I thank God every day for you brother." He said hugging Caleb. "Damn you can be so corny sometimes but don't worry, we got you, bro." Caleb laughs. "We all know that if Janice loses this child neither of us will be in the mood to go ahead with this wedding so what is God trying to tell me?" He groans in frustration and runs his fingers through his hair.

"I need to take a shower." He said getting up and heading towards the bathroom. "Not so fast, young man, you won't be doing anything until you eat something." Miss Mona said entering the room. He nods, took the tray, and sat on the edge of his bed. "Thanks, Miss Mona, and could you please ask Miss Alice to get Faith ready, I'm taking her to see her mom." He said biting into the sandwich.
