19 Escape Into The Night

"Cora...we are friends right?" Lia asked, sitting beside her on the stairwell somewhere within the storeroom and its many hallways. Cora glanced at her, the princess who was always very happy, cheerful, and even sassy, was now sitting beside her with her cheeks stained with tears and her eyes filled with sorrow.

"Of course, Lia. You already know that I consider you a dear friend of mine, and seeing you like this breaks my heart. Please, tell me what's wrong, I will help you any way I can if it's within my abilities." Cora said, she considered the girl in front of her, a friend, and she so dearly wished to give her a hug. However, even a child knew that it was improper to even touch royalty without their permission. But it is what Lia so desperately wanted, comfort.

"I have a favor to ask. B-But it is alright if you reject it, since you will be breaking some laws..." Lia said, pushing her hair behind her pink ears and glancing at Cora who nodded without question.
