C117 [CLICK BAIT SEXY GIRL... OH NO, IT’S A TRAP!]

*It seems that some people didn't like the last chapter. Idk why they didn't like it. Something about me not caring about the story and the duel being bad. Was it actually bad or what? Let me know. I have a doctors appointment today so I'll read the comments later tonight.*

POV Armad

'I lost.'

I knew it the second I awoke in the castle's infirmary. I lost to a kid. Not only did I lose to that kid, but I lost my chance with Aella and the spear that's been passed down through my family for generations. I keep thinking of how it should have been. I should have taken the fight seriously from the moment it began. I should have tried harder in my endeavor to win Aella Bestia's heart. I should have done a lot of things.

My nose is broken and I can't even breathe through it at the moment. Every time I shift in the bed I'm in, I feel excruciating pain from my ribs. I'm wrapped in gauze like some sort of mummy. This is like a nightmare that I wish to wake from immediately.

All of this pain and sorrow is nothing compared to the look my father gives me as he walks into the infirmary. The look of disappointment that stares into my soul is excruciating. Just going off the look on his face, I know that the following conversation is going to be hell.

"How are you feeling, son?" He asks as he stands beside my bed.

"I feel how I look. Burned and broken." I reply with a hoarse gravely voice.

A few moments of silence follows as my father just looks at me. I can't take his stare anymore and start shifting in my bed.

"Can you leave me alone for a while, father? I don't want to be around anyone right now." I say and look away from my father.

"Sure, I just have to say a few things before leaving. First, you'll be moved back home soon. We just have to wait for the doctors to finish looking you over. Second, and I'm sorry to say this, but you're banned from coming to the royal palace for the foreseeable future. You're also not allowed to pursue Princess Aella, but I'm sure that is obvious to you." My father says as he looks away from me.

"Yeah, I understand, dad. Can you leave now, please?" I say as tears start falling from my eyes and soak the gauze that has mummified me.

"Yes, I'll give you some time alone. I'll tell the doctors that you don't want to be bothered. Once your home, I'll call the family doctor to look after you. Your mother has missed you for a while now, so I'm sure she'll be happy to have you staying home for a while." He says as he starts to leave the room.

I could swear that I saw a tear rolling down his cheek as he turned to leave, but it must have been my imagination as my father isn't the type to cry. When I was finally alone, I felt exhausted from everything that's happened so I went to sleep.

I awoke in the middle of the night to the sound of the door to the infirmary opening. At first, I thought it would be a doctor or nurse consign to check in me, but once I looked to see who it was, I saw a person dressed in all black with a mask covering their face. I couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman. I started to get very nervous, as I'm defenseless with all these injuries I've sustained. The masked guy or girl must have noticed my predicament because they spoke up and started talking.

"Hello, you don't have to be nervous. I'm here to merely speak with you. Although I look like an assassin, I'm only dressed like this to protect my identity." The masked person says in an unrecognizable voice.

"Why are you here then?" I ask as I contemplate if I should call for help.

"I'm here to talk to you. May I sit by your bedside?" They ask as he or she waits patiently at the door.

"Umm, sure go ahead." I say as I don't want to make the masked assassin or whatever this person is angry.

"Thanks." The person says as they walk over and sits in the chair.

As the person walks over, they made not a single sound with each step they took. If that isn't an assassin, then I don't know what is. Once he or she sat down, they look me over and speak up again.

"I would like to make you an offer." He or she says and I feel like I'm being spoken to by some sort of devil.

"What offer?" I reply as a try to act calm.

POV 3rd person

"I'm willing to heal you, grant you power of which the likes you've never seen, and deliver you the love of your life." Every word that leaves the masked individual's mouth is weaved in magic.

With every word spoken Armad could feel his interest peaking higher and higher. The words bathed in magic enter his ears and seep into his mind. Not only did Armad want all of those things, now he needed them and the only being in the world that could deliver is this masked person before him. The frightening feeling he once had disappeared and he started getting excited at the prospect of getting all this person promised.

"What do you want from me in return?" Armad asks with interest sparkling in his eyes.

"I just need you to do a few things here and there. I'm sure you'll enjoy every minute of working for me." He says with the magic still in his voice.

"Yeah, I'll be happy to work for you!" Armad answers happily without noticing how odd his change in behavior is.

"Good, first let's wait until you leave the palace before we start doing anything. I'll speak to you when you've moved back to your home. See you later, Armad." The masked person says and strolls out of the room without making a single sound.

Armad is just left laying there with a smile on his face.

"It seems my luck is looking up!"
