1 Hypocritical Distraught

"Big bro, come home carefully, okay?" My little sister Lisa said.

I put on my shoes to get ready for work as I give thumbs up to my anti-social and introverted little sister. With deep sea-blue eyes, pitch-black hair, and long, messy black hair that resembles a horse's mane. She radiates a cute face.

"I will. Don't die on me when I come back home, okay? It's not like you spend time outside hanging out with friends, anyway; you're a shut-in NEET," I respond, smirking and holding back my laughter.

She gives me an annoyed, pouting face as I chuckle. She continues to make a face and stomp over me, attempting to appear intimidating.

"Not funny! Not funny! Stop laughing! I have friends to meet up with!"

I look at my sister, amused.

"Friends? Are you sure you didn't buy them? Or did you do something dirty to win their love?"

I burst out laughing as she kicked me faintly a few times. Was it all the laughing that made me cry, or was it the pitiful kicks she threw?

"They're real! They're real! You're the worst brother ever!" said the now watery-eyed introvert. For some reason, this made me laugh more because she's desperate.

Finally, I stop laughing, catching my breath. Then go to the front door to leave for work.

"I'm off now, Lisa; take care! Have fun with your imaginary friends!"

As I walk away from the door, I look back at our rundown house, the overgrown trees, and the vines. I also look back at my little sister, who gives me the finger but bids me farewell.

I walked until I came to a populated area of the city. My job is to steal wallets from under people's noses. It's a pretty dangerous job, but it can pay generously. You must be quick, precise, and alert at the same time.

Yes, I am a thief, but there's a valid reason. We're poor, and I don't have a job and can't get interviews to get hired. So I don't care about how others feel when I rob them; they have ways of earning money, but I don't.

Look at this woman here; Someone can easily rob her. And that's another—wait, this isn't a wallet; it's fabric and soft. I opened my hand to see girly white panties with ribbons. Why in the hell does someone keep panties in their purse? What are the odds? I'm getting out of here before she notices!

Some hours pass, and it gets late in the afternoon. With four wallets and $392, it's enough to pay for food but not bills this month.

"Uggg, I can't afford to skip this month's payment… It's already past due..."

Perhaps I should be a male prostitute or stripper, haha. If only our parents didn't abandon us, what did we do to deserve that? That's not my fault your wife cheated on you with someone better in bed haha. You're great parents if you leave your eldest son with a female newborn in a small, rundown house. The scenery was breathtaking; the rain started as they said they had to go somewhere else. I'm curious if they paid the rain because it is a paid actor. My parents are liars.

There's something wrong with this world. It's unjust. Luck and favorability It's as if all the bad luck belongs to the unlucky few. In, my case and my sisters' case... I wonder what I could do if I had the chance to restart my life. Will I still have my sister? Would a truck hit me and get isekai'd?

"That's preposterous!"

I have to stop saying what's on my mind... A faulty habit of mine. It might get me in trouble like one of those anime protagonists. Goodness, I'm relating my bad habit to an anime; my sister's NEET disease is rubbing off on me.

"It's rather late now, isn't it?"

I look upwards at the sky as the sun lowers and the moon rises. I'll go home—I completely forgot I had these panties on me... Perhaps I can use it as armor or something... Or let my sister use it when she's older. I wonder what she lo--

"NO! NO, NO, NO! I AM NOT A DEGENERATE SISCON LOLICON!!!" I say as I slam the panties into a nearby trash bin, with some strangers and bystanders looking at me weirdly.

"Okay then, let's go home." People will think I'm strange because I'm talking to myself and screaming something... That means I'm probably a pervert.

Oh, my reputation... Oh, my reputation... Before I get back home, I'll order McDingus takeout.

I hold three burgers and some fries in a bag as I leave McDingus and onto the str-

Vrooooom--

Holy shit! A truck almost hit me! Is that driver drunk? Or sleeping? What the hell? I would've made the ideal Isekai trope if I got stuck and died from it. It's fortunate I avoided that, though. But I'm late getting home...

I arrived home a few minutes later... to a broken door and red lights reflecting on the wall...

"LISA!!!-"

Bang—Bang—Bang—

Before I knew it, I was lying on the ground, shot three times in the chest. This hurts like hell. Those robbers took our stash of money to pay bills... The robber got robbed! As I cough up blood, I notice Lisa on the ground. Did they take her before me? How... Ironic... To put it mildly, it was depressing... I wanted to die before she did. What the hell... It was only a joke...

Perhaps she's right; I'm the worst brother... Ah, I can already see the light...
