1 Back To Life (Edited)

Country Y

In a dimly lit house which looked like it would fall any minute was a girl who looked to be around 16 years old. The girls had her eyes closed and was sprawled on the floor with only a thin rug acting as a barrier between the floor and her body.

The house was barely enough for someone to live in and there was only a stove and a bed which didn't look comfortable at all. On the floor were a few boxes and you could see a few clothes falling out of it. Overall the house looked really old.

Ling Xi opened her eyes slowly and looked around her. Her head was aching and she felt dizzy but still she could make out the place she was in even with her blurry eyes.

She stared at the familiar yet distant walls of the house she spent all her childhood in but had to leave it behind when she was fighting to survive.

She had clearly died but here she was in the place she desired to be in the most.

Is this because I've been craving for a home of my own that god sent me here one last time she asked herself?

A frown could be seen taking form on her face from all the confusing thoughts going through her mind. She looked at her face which looked so lively and her eyes full of brightness just like it was years back.

She looked just like she did in her teenage years which seemed like a dream, a distant memory.

Huh my arms look so white and soft

Have I gone back in time?

Even though the idea was unreal to her but after all the things she had seen and experienced, the idea of rebirth was not even at the top of the list of shocks. She looked through her surrounding and her gaze fell on her old and cheap phone, she turned on the screen and saw the date.

I really am back to 16 years old.

It should be about 10 days after Grandfather's death.

Ling Xi couldn't stop the feeling of nostalgia that came over her as she remembered the faces of the two people who brought her up since she was an infant.

Ling Xi's parents had died a month after her first birthday. Her family could be considered to have some money but after the death of her parents all the responsibility fell onto the shoulders of her old grandparents who were just ordinary farmers.

Things were still sustainable for the first few years but things changed after the little amount of money left by her parents was used up. With no other income to survive Ling Xi's Grandfather had to resume working in the market selling vegetables.

Things started going downhill after the death of Ling Xi's Grandmother when Ling Xi was 15 years old, the first couple of months, Ling Xi's Grandfather held on but as time passed, he couldn't fight the loneliness and grief in his heart from losing his lifelong companion and succumbed to his end.

Ling Xi had mixed feelings thinking about her grandparents' death. She didn't know if it was a blessing that they didn't have to face what was to come after the next few years.

Ling Xi straightened herself up and sorted her emotions, the first thing she had to do was to change her fate and improve her future. She had to become someone powerful if she wanted to survive the catastrophe that's going to struck.

She was not sure if she still had the power that was granted by the catastrophe. She had the power to absorb jade and the famous jade eyes which slowly transformed into something much more powerful. It was a strong and rare power but sadly she received it too late. The only thing that she could utilize was the magical space provided by her eyes which could grow crops and sustain life but sadly at that point in time everything was already infected and couldn't be used.

"Would I still have my powers with me", Ling Xi mumbled to herself but even she wasn't sure of it.

She closed her eyes and sat with her legs crossed and tried to concentrate on the feeling she felt every time she entered the space. The feeling of every cell in her body lighting up and coming to life, just as she felt that she was close to her aim, her body convulsed and she fell down to the floor clutching her chest.

My body is very weak and can't take the power right now, could it be that she would have to part with the treasures that she had collected over the years

With a heavy heart Ling Xi sat on the floor with difficulty, she couldn't believe that all her gold, rare metals and currency were all gone, just like a flash.

After living in the catastrophic world for a couple of years, Ling Xi met some people in the trading business.Be it weapons, metal, gold, diamond or things that were hard to come by like food, they sold it all and after staying with them for some years, Ling Xi started feeling affinity with gold and rare materials. One could say that even in the catastrophic world, Ling Xi lived a decent life.

Seems like I'll have to train my body before trying to enter the space, was the first thought that came to Ling Xi's mind.

"Ah..... I just can't take this, why bring me back to life if you had to take away all my babies from me"

No I shouldn't think like that, it's good that I'm back now I can correct all my mistakes and find him.

Liu Jian just wait for me, this time I won't let you die this time, you won't ever be disappointed in me in this life.

Ling Xi calmed herself down and took a look around the single room house that she used to live in.

At least it's better than sleeping outside; the first task is to earn some money.

I hope my eyes work and can be of use in some way.

Why had she been so foolish when she was young?

She had never learned how to do the household chores or ever tried to help her grandparents. She even foolishly believed that those people actually cared about her but in the end they were the ones who sent her on her way to death.

Thinking of all the things she did in the past, Ling Xi couldn't help but smile wryly.

Those people were nothing without me yet the stabbed me in the back.

In this life, let's see who the first to die is.....

I'll play with you till the end.
