*Asuka POV*

Today, I and my family went out of the city to go to a certain guy's birthday celebration. It's a birthday of a certain guy called Necros and his party outside was quite fun. Bands were singing, happy people dancing and drinking everywhere, and some people were just talking. Happily.

There was a room in the center of the house. The room is only for nobles from other countries. In the room, there were bands singing and nobles dancing. There were also nobles talking in the side, and some are eating. I don't know about this party it was just a little too formal.

I sat down at the corner of the room because I was tired from introducing myself to nobles and talking to nobles that wants to impress me.

As I was gazing around, I saw a guy looking bored. He has brown messy hair and has yellow gold-ish eyes with an unusual cat-like line in the middle.

Our gazes met and I looked away.

A few seconds later, he was already in front of me and he put his left hand out as an offering and asked,

"Would you like to dance?"

"Of course"

We headed to the center and danced. While dancing, we had a little chat.

"Was my party formal?"

"Oh, so you're Necros Dragoncest.

Yep. It was too formal..."

"Yeah, I think so too.

The room is so full of nobles full of pride that boasts their money and brag about their treasures and accomplishments. The big accomplishments are mostly lies though.

I would rather party with commoners rather than nobles.

But yeah, some of the nobles here want to enjoy the party and they are cheerful for my birthday.", he explained.

"You really are a fascinating fellow.", I said while having a smile on my face.

("Oop- I unintentionally smiled.")

It took a while for the music to stop. But in the end, the music stopped and the dance stopped as well.

"You are one of the best dancers that I've encountered so far.", he said while bowing to me.

"It's an honor.", I said replied while bowing back.

Only by the time we finished dancing did we realize that all the nobles from all over the country were clapping at our dance.

"Now it turned interesting all of the sudden.", he said said.

"Pffft! Hahaha!."

"Hahaha!."

We both laughed at the same time and when it was finished, we bowed at the audience.

We sat at the corner where we can see people from outside singing and drinking.

"People here are enthusiastic when it comes to your birthday, huh?", I asked.

"They sure are."

"That was fun."

"Yeah, I enjoyed it too.

By the way, what's your name?", he asked.

"Oh! I haven't introduced myself, aren't I?

I am Asuka. Asuka Winston. I am a daughter of a Marquess from the Capital. Fourth born"

"I am Yuuki Tenshin or Necros. You could pick from the two. I am the son of Lawrence Dragoncrest, the chief of the village. I am the third-born"

"Then I'll pick Yuuki. That name seems unique."

Yuuki's POV

*Awkward silence*

We were just staring at the sky while waiting for each other to start another conversation.

"Hah... Tomorrow is the big day huh..."

I accidentally said something I shouldn't have. I forgot to disable the PC from following my actions.

"Big day? Are you going somewhere after this?", she asked.

"Hm? Yeah, why?"

"Where?"

"Don't tell anyone about this ok? Though mom and dad already know about this.", I said

"Mhm.", she said as she nods her head.

"I'm going to the Oxwell tomorrow. I'm going to register on the Adventurer's Guild once I get there.", I explained.

"Adventurer's Guild??", she said as her eyes went wide open.

Then I said, "Yeah. Why are you so surprised?"

"That a pretty unusual thing to do despite being a son of a Baron."

"Don't worry about it. My parents already knew about this and permitted me. Plus I can't stay here for long because I won't do any help to the village. I'll just be a hindrance to my brothers because I'm the third born son so I don't have a chance on becoming the village chief. But if I become an adventurer, I can help the village and be free at the same time. That's why I want to become an adventurer."

"I'm going to tell you a secret too.", she said with a smile.

"Hm? What is it?", I said with a puzzled expression.

She comes near me and whispered,

"I'm gonna be an Adventurer too."

"What?! But you're a daughter of a Marquess, right?!", I said with a really shocked face.

"Yes, I'm a daughter of a Marquess but the status doesn't matter. Plus, I want to be free like you.

Come here. I'm going to tell you another secret."

She gestures her hand to come over there.

I came close to her and she puts her face near my ear.

"Don't tell other people about this okay?"

I just nodded out of curiosity.

"I like you."

"..."

after saying that, she kisses my cheek.

The moment she kissed me, my face turned really, really red.

I stepped back while holding the part that she kissed with my hand and looked at her.

She had a smile on her face. She was a little red but the smile on her face is of the ones who tease. It's like the face of Nag@#$% or Tak@^% whenever they tease the main characters.

"Are you kidding?"

"Dunno~"

"I don't seem to understand what's going on..."

"Really~? Or are you just really dense~?"

"Hmm... If you ask me, I would rather pick the really dense."

"Correct~ You are really dense."

"Hm!"

She hopped down the balcony and landed on the ground without any injuries.

I hopped off too after she jumped and landed without any injuries.

"I didn't expect you to jump down without any injuries. I even thought you won't follow me", she said.

"It's just luck, pure luck."

"Your luck must be pretty incredible."

"Maybe it is."

We were walking down the street when I saw an old man that I know was getting very tipsy.

"Hey, old man. Don't drink too much. Go home after an hour."

"Don't worry this is just a light drink."

"Light drink? You've almost finished an entire barrel.", I said as I look at the barrel.

"Iya~ you got me good.

Alright. I'll go home after an hour."

"Ok, take care, old man."

"You too kid. Oh, and happy birthday."

"Thanks."

As we were walking in the middle of the streets, she said,

"You really know them all huh?"

"Well, not all of them. I know most of them since I was a kid."

"Want to go on a date?", she suddenly asked.

"Yeah, sur-

Wait, a date?!"

"Yay! You agreed, right?"

"No, no, I didn't."

"I'm pretty sure I heard you say "Yeah sure"."

"Fine..."

"Look, a meat skewer stall.", she said as she pointed at the stall.

"Do you want one?", I asked.

"Yeah, I wanna try one."

I went to the meat skewer stall and asked, "Can I buy two meat skewers, please?"

"You're as mannered as always.", said the cook.

Then I shrugged and said, "You know my old habit."

"Haha! Two meat skewers coming right up!"

"Oh, I recommend this sauce it's really good.", I said.

Then the cook said, "It's the boss's original sauce recipe."

"Boss?", Asuka asked.

"It's what we call him since he was a kid."

"Haha! I remember the first time you called me that.

You almost got crushed by a monster right?"

"Haha! The good old days..."

After that, we sat at a bench in front of the stall and waited for our meat skewers.

After a few minutes, our meat skewers finished cooking.

"Wah~, it's amazing. It feels like it's melting in my mouth and the sauce is the best too.

What's the sauce called?"

"It's called barbecue sauce."

"It's really tasty."

"Agreed.

Oh look, there's sauce on the side of your mouth."

"Oh, sorry. I'll clean it mys-"

I wiped the sauce off her mouth using my thumb and licked the sauce on my finger.

"Eh...?"

Her face was clearly beet red after saying that.

"Eh???"

"What?"

"No-nothing..."

The storekeeper was just looking at us while smiling.

We finished eating and her face was still beet red even after that.

"Co-come see me tomorrow at the forest in the north in the morning ok?"

"I'll walk you back."

"No thanks. I can walk back alone."

After that, I waved my hand and she walked back to the mansion while galloping.

"What an interesting fellow."

The storekeeper stands beside me and said,

"You're quite smooth aren't ya?"

"Dunno."

["Hey Necros, could you explain what happened?"]

["Wha?!"]

["Hey! Your nose is bleeding! I thought you can't feel pain in this room?!"]

I summoned 2 nose tissue rolls to stop the blood from dripping from his nose.

It took me a night to fix this situation. All it needed to I answer 100s of Necros's questions about how I attracted such a beauty.

*The Next Day*

*Asuka POV*

I got to the forest in the north just as said it would be and I saw him. He was wearing some unfamiliar clothes. He was wearing a brown leather vest with a white polo and a black necktie underneath. On the other hand, I was wearing a breastplate and light armor.

"So, what do you want?", he asked.

"I want to fight you.", I answered.

"What...?", he said with a confused face.

"I said I wanted to fight you."

"Why?"

"I want to have a trip with you but we have to show our strength to each other.

Let's have 2 matches. One match for Magic and the other is for swordsmanship.

First, let us have a magic battle."

"Ok?"

We stood at the center of a circle drawn by a stick.

"Just in case.", he built an earth wall on the outline of the circle as he said that.

I activated my magic eyes which can see mana inside the body and scanned his mana.

("He built a large wall but his mana is not even reduced by 1%.")

"The rules are simple, whoever touches the wall, loses.", I explained.

He nodded and said, "Ok."

He was just standing and is not even in his fighting pose.

("He's provoking me.")

"What?? You're not even in your fighting position?? Hey! Are you looking down on me??

Well, nothing will happen if I were to just shout here..."

He unleashed killing intent. That made me tremble.

"Shape, sharpen, slash! Water Blade!"

He put his hands on the ground and an earth wall appeared.

The earth wall absorbed the water blade and didn't penetrate his earth wall.

"Chantless magic?!"

"It's my turn"

Sharp water blades penetrated the wall with blinding speed.

He followed his water blades so that he would not get hit by my homing water blades.

He dodged every water blade I throw at him even deflecting some of them.

We were three meters apart when I started to chant Basic Fire Spell: Fireball.

"Burn and blaze, Fire-"

He arrived first and then and the water blades stopped at my neck.

"Do you want to surrender?"

"Yes, I surrender."

"Then next is swordsmanship."

"Wait... There's more?"

"Yeah".

("Though I'm not good at swordsmanship.")

We stood in the middle within 3 meters apart.

("I'm not going to use the same method as earlier. I'm going to wait.")

He again unleashed killing intent and that made me tremble.

He took a step that made a shockwave. He launched forward and closed the gap between us in a mere step. I was about to swing my sword but he was faster... I have accepted defeat but I didn't surrender.

Then he stopped the momentum of his sword near my neck.

"Do you want to live?"

"Ye-Yes, I want to but maybe I can right now."

"Don't worry I won't kill you. Just surrender and I will let you live."

"I-I Surrender."

"Now return to your home. You might be killed here without any bodyguards protecting you."

"Hah..."

She let out a huge sigh while she was walking away.

"Ahh! Forget it!"

"Hey! Where are you going?"

"Hm? Home?"

He tossed me a coat but it is thick. It is colored black and has cat ears on the head.

I tested it out and he said,

"It looks good on you."

"Tha-thank you."

"Come with me. I will teach you everything on the way."

"Yes!"

A day after Yuuki's 16th birthday, we left the Village to go register at the Capital City of Oxwell.
