The mysterious quest? [Edited]

Chapter 7

The next day. the ray of sunlight were illuminating from there window as the birds were chirping elegantly on top of the house. the time was almost noon with Theresa waking up from there long slumber. her field of vision was slowly getting clearly by the second with her yawning and stretching her limbs then she smiled. "(That was my best sleep in a long time.)"

Right after that she quickly realized that something or someone was missing. a person was gone right beside her. "Wait, where did Ren go? (is he under the blanket again)"She lift up the blanket to check, and it surprised he wasn't there considering before they fall asleep he face was shoved in between her boobs. "He isn't under the blanket, were could he be"

Theresa sit up straight with her head looking side to side to see if she can spot him, maybe he was hiding all she know, she the got off of the bed to checked were could he be. a minutes have gone by she checked everywhere on the house and outside even the vicinity around her but she still couldn't find Ren. she went back to the house and she was started to get worried until in the corner of her eye she saw a folded piece of paper laying on the dinner table.

She went over there to take a closer look. "What's this?" she said as she picked up the paper and procced to open it.

"It's a note, and it's from Ren." the note says as she read it. "Theresa if your reading this I'm on a journey for the week doing some quest and stuff, I'm still trying to find the dragon soul and I'II be back sooner than you know it, and also i cooked you some food eat it before it's get cold alright and take care... from Ren"

Theresa felt relief after reading the note, thank go he left a not before or else she would have peen panicking and getting all night. but she still has a worried feeling about Ren's journey something on her gut was feeling her that he will encounter something. but what could it be? "Take care too Ren. where ever you are" she said in a worried voice.

As the scorching heat had finally settled in Ren was now walking on the side of the mountain edges. even though he could fly he wanted to walk so that he could enjoy the experience of adventuring even more. "(I hope Theresa wakes up, the food might get cold.)" he then look at the poster once more. "Now where could this stone giant be."

Flashback before Ren left the kingdom. he was looking very carefully on a bulletin board full with quest to do. in the kingdom there are alot of bulletin boards place on the streets or place on the side of somebodies house since this much more efficient for a hunter or a knight to go to expedite a quest. "Hmm..."

"H-hello sir, are you looking for a quest by any chance?" a knight suddenly approached Ren.

"Hm?" he finally notice her in the corner of his eyes. "O yea I'm looking for a quest. do you have any strong demon's or some monster by any chance. if not I'm fine whatever's on this board." Ren replied to the young knight, she was short like six inches shorter than Theresa, she was also wearing a full set of steel armor with no helmet that revealed her long black hair and black eyes, then she has a leather sling bag.

"Right on time." she grab two poster inside of her leather bag. then she handed it over to Ren "Is this enough sir? both of them look pretty strong to me.

Ren slightly bend and took a closer inspection on the two poster.it definitely caught his attention "Hmm.. interesting."

[Quest poster 1]: Wanted: Stone Giant. Location: Near the vicinity of the mountains. Reward: 20,000 Gold. Sign's if your near it: It will cause an immense rumbling on the ground.

[Quest Poster 2]: Wanted: Unknow. Location: Dessert vicinity. Reward How much you want. Sign's if your near it: Random.

After reading the two poster they were both the one he will pick, but he's mostly intrigued by the second poster. "I'II take two of these quest, but why does the second poster has nothing except the location."

"I don't really know either sir, I'm just hear to send these out." The young knight replied.

"Is that so." he said as he took the two poster from her hands. then he folded them up and put it in on his pocket since he finally decide it's time for him to go. "Alright time for me to take my leave. take care."

Back to the present. Ren was still searching for the stone giant and was still on the edge of the mountain, his eyes were wandering around trying to spot something out of the ordinary, but he was slowly losing his temper since it said it was nearby the mountains, so where is it! he grunts in frustration and yelled on the top of his lungs. "WHERE IS THIS STONE BASTARD AT!!!"

His voiced echoed through the mountains with birds started flocking away since they got startled by the voice of an angry dragon. his body started radiating fire on frustrated he was, but he suddenly he sense a energy nearby a living one at that. "Finally i can sense you!"

Ren then jump from the edge and landed inside of the forest that cause a small crack on the ground. he set his straight towards the certain direction and started running towards the energy, he jog for a good few minutes but when he arrive nothing was there. it was just a really big open field. "What?! nothing's here it's just a large field, tree's and mountains surrounding it"

Considering there was nothing but an open field of grass. he was a little bit speculated and idea suddenly pop into his mind. he lift his right knee up and infuse his right boot with fire then and he proceed to stomp his feet hard on the ground that cause another yet decent size crack.

After that nothing happened, maybe the stone giant wasn't in the fields after all. with that he turned his body around and started to walk the opposite direction, but as soon as he did that the ground started to tremble .

"The ground is shaking?!" a smiled formed from his face. "I knew it! you were just hiding on the ground! now prepar-" his words suddenly got cut out when the ground started rising. "Now's it's raising!?"

"Woah!" Ren tumble as the ground rise faster and faster, but he managed to regain his footing a few seconds later and he proceed to jump off the head of the stone creature. as he landed on the ground unharmed, he slowly backs away to see the giant slowly standing on it's legs and a smiled started to form on his lips and fire started radiating out of the corner of his eyes and the tip of his hair. he was excited to fight after being out of commission for a week. "(It's the stone giant!) Finally!!"

The stone giant was casting a shadow over him as it towered the surrounding trees but not the big mountains, the creature was like 90 meters tall with a big rocky mossy body with long arms and he suddenly spoke with a deep voice. "A human is in my territory? I'm not surprise."

"I'm not a human!" he claimed with a yell while his index finger was pointing at it. "I'm a dragon and I'm here to annihilate you!" 

The stone giant immediately shift it's body and quickly launched a uppercut with it's fist grinding and destroying the ground as it was closing the distance on him. so in natural instinct he raised both of his arms as he took the attack head on. "GHHHHHH!"

Ren managed to hold back it's fist for a few seconds but he still got overpowered somehow and proceed to get sent towards the mountains "GHAA!" as his body made impact to the big rock formation, it quickly made an explosion and a huge blacked smoke immediately appeared on the scene.

After a few seconds went by, the smoke finally dissipate revealing the red hunter laying the ground but he doesn't seem to be hurt at all. rather a smile formed from his face

Ren procced to get up like noting happened to him and he start flying towards the stone giant without hesitation.

The stone giant noticed Ren flying toward him. "So you have a death wish dragon! i can gladly give you that!" the stone giant launched another right fist at Ren.

Ren see's the fist coming toward his way, he start infusing his fist with fire . "DRAGON FIST!!"

Both fist connected with each other and it caused immense shockwave's of air across the whole planet. but within the clash the stone giant's whole arm got annihilated by the dragon fist as the creature reaction was simply in a silent shock. 

Ren then land on the ground and looked up at the distraught stone giant. "Not so tough now are we?" that angered the big monster and launched another punch down at him. but he completely out maneuver his attack and procced to fly toward as he launched his counter attack by giving the creature a hard punch on the chest causing him to release a painful grunt and a noticeable crack appeared.

Following that he suddenly teleported right above him as he clasped both of his hands together and hammer slam his back down making him stumble in the process. but the giant immediately recovered and tried to counter attack by swinging his arm hoping to hit him and again he easily out maneuver it. "Too slow!" he yelled as he flied towards him, aiming to punch his chest again to finish it. but the giant suddenly grabbed him and throwed him down to the ground as hard as he could causing the the area to tremble.

"You damn dragon!" as he looked down beneath him inspecting for him to attack or not. the monster can't tell if he is still alive or not because of the thick smoke he created. but the instantly dissipate when as the giant was shook to see Ren was still standing showing his amazing aura and wasn't faze by his attack what so ever instead he started treating it as a joke now since he was stretching his limbs and stone giant got furious "What?! how come your still alive? i throwed you hard on the ground!" 

He stop and spoke. "Let me teach you about us dragons" he points his finger up at him as he suddenly disappear in thin air making the giant to be alerted in his surroundings. but then he felt an impact to his chest causing him to release another painful grunt. "We dragons have a thick skin!" 

"And we dragons have immense speed and strength. HAAA!" the onslaught of attacks kept on pouring every where on his body, landing on his torse, chest, face, stomach, his sides and legs. after the pummeling stopped, the stone giant was kneeling on the ground while his body was all cracked and one attack could finish him completely.

He lands on the grounds and put his right arm up towards the stone creature. then a fire energy ball started to appear between the palm of his hand and it started to grow, gaining some mass until it was done. once it's size was only a little smaller than he was, he blast it towards the giant and upon impact it completely exploded his whole body creating a huge black smoke in the process. pieces of his body went flying in all direction and only the head was left in the crater where they fought. 

Ren went up to him and was only several feet away from his huge head. it was really a nice warmup of the day he thought. he raise his arm towards him once again as a ball of energy formed on his palm and spoke "Any final word's?" 

The stone giant let out a warm smile and replied. "Thank you dragon, you've freed me from my bindings."

"What?!" Ren was in shocked upon hearing that and wasn't expecting that. so he dropped down his arm and spoke back. "What do you mean bindings?"

The stone creature only let a heart felt chuckle as he slowly said his final words. "Now I'm finally free." after that he closed his eyes as the ground started to spread with grass, repairing the damage they've done. so he flew up and see the crater was slowly getting filled with grass and the plain old fields was filled with more flowers than usual. a smile came across his face not from the victory but rather he freed someone from there curse.

He dropped back down and gave respect to him. "Hm. rest well stone head." he gave him a pat before heading towards his second quest. the mysterious poster, the one that he was most curious about while at the same time excites him. he grabbed the poster in his pocket to looked at it one more time. he was a bit spectacle about the location. he started to think what could be a threat in that dessert.

He has a weird feeling in his gut telling him to turn back, but he doesn't want to go back, the unknown gives him the thrill, never knowing when your gonna live or die. he started marching again this time to the direction of the dessert.

After walking for who knows how long, the dragon was finally out of the forest. "Whew. finally out of that forest." he could just fly to save up some time that, but that doesn't feel like a adventure to him anymore. Ren looked in front of him to see the dessert with all that he can see was the yellow sand stretching for many miles. "What a sight." he sigh as he stepped forward on the sand and started walking. "Now all i need to do is to found that thr-"

Ren was stop on his track, his eyes widen when he suddenly sense a super massive energy nearby. "(T-this energy! it's insane! and it's bigger than my mine.)" he started sweating since from what he can sense, the energy was double-no maybe even triple the amount of what he has. feeling a bit terrified he raise up all of his senses and started moving again. "(I need to be careful. that massive energy is nearby)" speaking in his consciousness.

He continued to roam through out the endless dessert trying to see if there's any out of the ordinary had happen. the scorching heat was setting in and it wasn't affecting him what so ever but the power he still sense was near the area but he couldn't pin point where it exactly was. it's still frightens him and maybe turning back was a good idea. "(I can still sense that crazy energy it's still near.) !!"

He was suddenly alarmed when a angry sandstorm appeared out of nowhere. he was immediately engulf as he tried to fly out of the dust storm. but he notice something above him that made him stop mid air. the sand was flowing on one same spot making a vortex it seem.

"(Wait?!)" he notice that the vortex being made was the super massive energy he sense earlier. this was the one that he was searching for. "(That forming in the middle of the sandstorm, it's the same energy from before!)" he dropped back down to the ground and prepared for what's to come, then. "(What?! the sandstorm suddenly stop.)"

Ren notice the vortex was finished but then it quickly burst into the air revealing a humanoid being. the human like figure dropped down onto the sand as he concealed his energy so that he could not be detected immediately. the person has a brown skin tone and has yellow wavy spiky hair. he was wearing something a god would wear and has bracelets on both of his arms. he was barefoot and his body was not all that muscular but it was well defined to say the list.

"(That person. he's carrying the same crazy energy from before.)" there were only several meters away and from the situation he was in he has to fight this god like person all alone. The mysterious person immediately turned his head where Ren was. he glared at him and there eyes both locked onto each other as he procced to say. "Who are you?!"
