1 [The Manuscript]

SEA YOU- 1

I was dumbfounded while holding the original vintage manuscript from my friend who owns a publishing company. He told me to turn this script into a movie because he said it was written a hundred years ago. It is based on a real-life story. It was said that the woman who wrote it died after a shipwreck that happened in the 1930s. My friend Ethan never found out who that woman was.

Her novel was published in API (Asian Publication Industry) on August 28th, 1930. She was the first bestselling author in API. Her original manuscript was preserved in the company and she also broke the records for having the first printed run of one thousand sold copies. But right now her book stopped reprinting. The only last reprinted copy of the book was before she was buried and all of the royalty that she received was given to the island where she lived.

Ethan's mother saw that woman and said she was beautiful at the age of 29 and died exactly after her 30th birthday. Her picture can't be seen on the internet because the internet at that time was not created yet. Even in the magazine her novel and her pen name were detailed without her picture. Photography and typewriter were available back then but Ethan's father does not have any pictures of that woman because she doesn't want to appear in public as per request but she agreed in featuring her bestselling novel in the magazine.

Anyways this is another big project for me. This was my first historical romance movie where the script was written a hundred years ago. Ethan wanted it the way it was exactly written that's why I needed to review this to know the story more and how the movie should start and end. Ethan's father trusted me of doing this project that's why I will do my best. He wished that the movie will premiere at his centenary celebration next year.

"Sea You written by Se-In-Blu." I read the cover page. I took a deep breath before I started reading the manuscript. I felt challenged in doing this project because I felt something...strange. I felt it the moment Ethan explained the summary of the manuscript.

"I can say that he was destined for this role." But, the moment I read the first sentence, my head spinned.

"As I watch him grow older, He took the position of his father as the leader of our island. He was given the tasks as the heir to the mafia boss. His mission is to defend our island from pirates. They were doing illegal activities and organized crime like fraud to bring down the pirates because they were connected to the government." I stopped reading and sighed. I held my head making me close my eyes because it hurt so much. It was making me see hallucinations that seemed to be familiar in my head.

"Argh shit! Back up I got hit." I bite my lips when I saw Julio assisting me. Kaela immediately runs toward us and let Julio go back to the war. She made me sit down as she get the first aid kit and check my wounds. "Oh my god, Kiro I was about to cry right now seeing you shot." I held Kaela's face then she stop cleaning my wounds and looked at me, as I wiped her tears using my thumb. I smiled. "Pretty woman. Stop crying, I already see the serenity fading in your eyes."

I slowly opened my eyes and looked around the writing room. I felt that I was in there, in the year the 1930s. The scenes... the emotions... the characters... they felt so surreal. I shooked my head to stop the scenes and continued reading again. "As I watched him grow up, I realized that all of the decisions he had to make should not be immediate, because they could affect the island that he leads. All of his decisions must be informed to his father who used to hold the position. It's not that easy for him to live what others might think beautiful because he can't he grew up having everything. But what they don't know is that it's hard to live when there is a duty waiting for you to fulfill. It's not that easy to live when you have to inform every decision you make."

"He once told me that he already told his father that he wished he hadn't grown up in that kind of family. He wished he had lived in a family that had no obligation to fulfill, that wouldn't affect the decision he wanted to make." Who is the man she is talking about? She keeps on telling about that man but she never mentions his name. I just shrugged my shoulders and continued reading.

"He's the only man I admire here on the island and he doesn't care about any tragedy. We've been attacked by pirates several times but he's just so clever in planning everything. But his father keeps on blaming him for everything he does." I immediately put down the manuscript and immediately left the writing room.

I went to the kitchen and got fresh milk from the fridge, poured my glass, and sat on the sofa. I closed my eyes when I felt a headache again. I should see my doctor after this. "Argh!!! Shit hurts!" I was holding my head because it was so painful that I couldn't help but lie down on the sofa and take a deep breath. Then I decided to close my eyes maybe I just need to take a nap.

"Leonelle, what are you doing? What I'm asking you to do is easy, why haven't you gotten it yet? You're making a lot of mistakes and if you do it again in just one mistake I'll take all your inheritance, everything you've worked hard for will go to nothing." my father shouted angrily at me.

I got tired and left his office. He never once understood me, he always saw my mistakes in me. I didn't even feel that he loved me, I felt that he was selfish because he was always working on organization and he didn't pay attention to me. I felt that I was being left alone, even though he was there.

Because of the restriction my father made me, I became stubborn. I did not follow his order which caused an unexpected danger to happen. I almost died because I didn't listen to him. He told me that I shouldn't listen to what others have to say. I should not trust others and if I do, I should only trust the members of my organization. I have become more serious about what I do and I do not limit the activities that our organization does.

But everything changed when I met her.

She usually writes everything. Even in the simple things, on the island where we live. It was detailed in the novel she made. At first, I got mad at her because she states everything about my life. But in every chapter of her novel I read, I realized, everything she wants me to think is that I should be grateful for the life I have.

"Didn't your parents raise you well? You shameless woman, you don't respect m—" he didn't finish what he had to say when I suddenly pulled Kaela away from him and I immediately punched him. "I respect you because you are always there for me. But to respect you as my father, you should treat my girl right!"

I look at Kaela she was shaking while looking at me I want to hug her but I can't move from where I'm standing. Kaela might look at me differently because of what I did. This was the first time she saw me punch my father. While my father kept looking at me seriously maybe he couldn't believe what I did;

"So you're doing this thing just for a girl, Leonel?!" I frowned and looked at dad.

"Why? Father, should I tell you about finding a girl for me?" I asked him emotionlessly. "Do I still need to ask your permission to choose a woman to love? Answer me!"

I immediately got up and held my chest. Why do I seem to feel the pain of the man in my dream? That name looks familiar to me. So I ran towards my writing room and get the manuscript I was reading earlier and read the last sentence before the end of the foreword.

"My Kiro, the man I adore. Kiro Leonelle Gutierrez, the man behind my inspiration the reason why I start writing this novel." My eyes widened at the name I read. I couldn't believe it, because his name matched the man in my dreams.

[Why is Klay dreaming of Kaela and Kiro's past? Is it because he is a director who will be the way to relive the past that Kaela and Kiro had in the 1930s? Just comment below. What do you think?] -biyahbhabe
