Chapter One.

It was just my friend and I. We were out on the ocean, many miles from land. We would come out here to dive and take beautiful pictures of whatever we could capture. That day, right when we suited up, we saw a whale pass by our boat. With excitement, my friend grabbed his camera and we both dove in to capture this moment.

Upon entering the bright blue sea, it was hard to miss the majestic blue whale. As I was measuring up the vastness of the creature, I saw a giant net tangled on its tail. The whale looked to be struggling to get the net off but, was unable to. I motioned my hands to my friend to let him know I was going to get the net off. He gave me a thumbs up, and swam behind me as we made our way to the whale.

My friend was behind a little distance to capture me with the whale on camera. I was close enough to run my hands along the sides, going down the tail so I can get the net. The creature seemed to be still while I struggled to remove it, eventually I slipped it off. But after I removed it, the whale whipped it's tail viciously, causing the water around me to move with such power. I was helpless, the net then wrapped tightly around me, constricting my hands and legs to my body. My friend was blown back a distance, he couldn't help me. The power of the rapid water pushed me down, I was sinking.

My oxygen tank seemed to work but, I had no freedom of movement. All I could do was to look up as I sank. Looking down with panic, I saw a darkness. I looked back up again to see if my friend was coming but, I couldn't find him. The bright blue sea was disappearing, now darkness was coming over me. I descended into the abyss with terror of the unknown, "When will I hit the bottom?" I wondered. It was pitch blackness now, I could not see an inch in front of me. Sinking. Sinking. There were sounds of movement all around me, I couldn't make out what it was. "Is that the sound of the water? Pressure? Monsters of the sea?" Pure terror was in my heart, for I didn't know what was about to come to me. I wished to die. Death would be better than this terrifying torture of the unknown blackness. Unfortunately my oxygen kept me alive, and I kept sinking, sinking, sinking. "When will I hit the bottom? When will I die..."
