4 Chapter 4

The adult was a tall man with black-rimmed glasses and the child was a little girl.

Both of them had black hair and they kind of looked alike if you looked closely.

The expression on Meguro's face was stoic and he thought. 'I know who this is.

Kakine from my family.

He's a high-ranking executive that controls most of our businesses and probably has the most economic power after me and father.

But just because he's in charge of the money doesn't mean he's any less dangerous.'

Looking at Kakine's forehead that was hidden by his black hair, you could see two wounds close to each other.

Those were bullet wounds he got in the middle east when he used to go to wars under missions.

A true retired soldier.

But even with all that, Meguro wasn't intimidated at all.

Meguro in this world was on a wholly different level than what he was as a drug dealer.

Since he merged with the original, he naturally became him.

Even if the man in front of him pulled out a gun out of nowhere and started shooting at him he was still confident that he could kill him.

But we'll get into his strength later since these thoughts are unnecessary.

The man and his daughter only had one waiter with them and the man saw Meguro after the doors closed.

Meguro was a good distance away so he didn't notice him right away.

Kakine's eyes widened and after saying something to his daughter he approached Meguro.

He stopped in front of his table and said with a smile on his face. "Good evening Meguro-san, it's good to see you healthy."

Meguro smirked and raised his hand with his palm up towards the chair in front of him. "Please, take a seat.

You can't have your daughter standing after making your way here."

Kakine closed his eyes and bowed while saying. "Thank you."

He made pulled his daughter's chair fist and after that he pulled his own.

Normally, it would be weird for someone older to use honorifics with someone younger than them.

Kakine was over 25 while Meguro was only 18 years old.

But normal logic didn't apply here since Meguro has a higher position than Kakine and he's earned respect within the family since he was a teenager.

Meguro decided to avoid conversations regarding the organization since Kakine's daughter was with him.

Meguro opened his mouth and asked while looking at the little girl. "What's your name?"

The girl looked at him and replied almost instantly. "It's Noa."

Meguro nodded and said. "Noa-chan, do you want to order something specifically?

It's on me since I haven't seen your father in a long time."

The girl's face light up and she said. "Really?

You'll get me anything?"

Before Kakine could say anything Meguro stared at him without any expression.

Kakine understood the message and the only thing he could do was sigh.

Meguro smiled with his eyes closed and said. "Yeah!

They even have a special place here when you can play until the food gets ready.

They even have one of those pools filled with plastic balls."

Her face light up even more and she looked at her father. "Can I please go there?"

Kakine sighed and he signaled the waiter to come here.

"Yea, you sure can.

This man here will show you the menu but make sure to not order more than you can eat."

She got up from her chair and said while leaving with the waiter. "Thanks mister!"

If you couldn't tell by now, Meguro did all this just to get the little girl to leave so he could have some adult talk with Kakine.

Kakine stopped looking at his leaving daughter and he turned to Meguro. "There's no need for you to pay for the meal.

But thank you for the generosity."

Meguro waved his hand and said. "It's no big deal since I have more than enough money to pay for the meals.

But this restaurant is probably the safest one to dine in Tokyo."

Kakine nodded and said. "That's true.

The walls are armed and there's even a secret passage for escaping in case something happens, paired with the bunker underground it's even safer.

Well, if we count the enforcers and the retired ones that are in the area you can say we're ready if a war breaks out in the area."

Meguro's tea came so he blew on it while saying. "Well, father was the one that wanted a peaceful place where his family could dine peacefully.

A lot of money and time went into this place."

Kakine fixed his glasses and said. "Yes, the money was basically no problem but being able to build this whole building was somewhat troublesome because of the amount of illegal things there are here."

Meguro smiled and said. "Enough about the restaurant.

Is everything going alright within the family?"

The look in Kakine's eyes changed and he said while taking a sip of his coffee that came not long ago. "Everything's pretty peaceful but it won't last for long."

Meguro took a sip of his tea and said. "Now that we're stable, father wants to advance again.

Isn't that right?"

Kakine nodded and replied. "He told us about how you're in charge of the special guest that's coming to our new casino.

And he also told us to act up if there's any problem.

That means that he's ready to face the Hundred Devouring Families."

Meguro had a smirk on his face and he said. "That's right, it looks like he has something planned in his mind.

I just hope it's not going to involve war any time soon."

The look in Kakine's eyes became even colder, to the point his eyes were just hollow black orbs, just like Meguro's brown ones. "War, huh.

That's for sure, a war between two organizations this big will attract the attention of other organizations and the authorities.

Well, since the authorities can be bought and the police chief can turn a blind eye to this if the civilians aren't hurt....

But that's not the biggest problem here.

The biggest problem is the Hundred Devouring Families that are on a higher level than us."
