1 I'LL KILL YOU!

"Oh, how did this happen? What a poor woman..."

"From what I hear, her son had blocked the carriage of the city lord's son by accident. Her husband tried to protect him but in the end, the city lord's son had them both flayed and killed."

"Ah, how unlucky...What will she do now? She's been sitting there for days outside of the courthouse but no one would answer to her."

"Why do you think? It's the city lord's son, who would dare go against his father?"

"Still, that son of his, to be so cruel and unjust, abusing his authority like this."

"Stop it, you don't know who might be listening unless you want to end up like them."

Outside of the red gate of the courthouse was a woman sitting before them. By her side was a straw mat where the bodies of her family lay, covered by another straw mat. She sat perfectly still, almost like a statue while passerby's merely glanced and walked.

No one dared to come close, whispering to each other from a distance. After all, anyone that helped her could be a victim to the city lord's son.

The day neared its end as the sun descended and the skies darkened.

In the end, it was just the woman and her family.

The woman finally moved, turning to look at her family. Their dead bodies were hidden under the straw mat but she could see their lifeless fingers and feet poking out of it. Her eyes were the same, there was no light in them.

She stood up without another word and left, dragging the straw mats that carried her family away.

Elsewhere, in the center of the city was a lavish mansion where an older man sat behind a table, looking at some documents scattered around. He had a rather powerful aura around him, one with authority and discipline. His hair was tied into a bun and there was a short mustache on his face pairing a strict expression.

His clothes were extravagant, white and gold robes made of silk. There was even a small dragon embroidered on his arm sleeve, coiling around them with three claws on each hand.

Seated in his quarters, he carried out his work, reading and signing papers that regarded the city's well-being and other affairs. From a distance, he could hear the sound of steps growing louder until someone walked in.

Immediately, this person stood before him and kneeled, lowering their heads before this man. Cupping his fists, the figure clad in armor greeted him.

"Guard Xing greets Lord Yan!" he said

"Mm, you can get up, is that woman gone yet?"

Lord Yan asked, moving his fingers up to gesture to the guard, who stood up and answered promptly.

"Yes, my lord! She is no longer outside the courthouse at this time!"

The city lord leaned back and sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose.

"Hah, and she hasn't accepted the money for the funeral costs, has she?"

The guard shook his head.

"No, my lord."

Lord Yan sighed once more, looking up at the ceiling of his room.

"To think my idiot son would just execute that woman's family on the spot. Just where did I go wrong in teaching him?" he thought to himself, showing both a tired and rather annoyed expression.

"Where is my son now? Where is Yi'er?" he asked.

Guard Xing lowered his head and looked down as he answered.

"Your son has been going between the Rosy Blossom House and the Laughing Fortune Pavilion."

Suddenly something flew over the guard's head as Lord Yan screamed out.

"FUCK! That idiotic son of mine is going between a whorehouse and a gambling den?! Fucking bring him back before he spends any more gold! And don't go by yourself! Bring an entire squad with you! I don't care what he says, take him back by force! He is to be put under house arrest for six months! No, one year!"

"Yes, my lord!"

The guard quickly stood up, cupping his fists before going.

"Hah, damn it."

Lord Yan just stared forward, leaning back on his chair and looking at the mess he had created. He just sat there in silence, perhaps thinking over his life. In the end, all he could do was sigh and go back to work while several attendants came in to clean up.

He just sat there quietly,

Another day came and the woman returned, sitting in front of the doors of the gates with the remains of her family. Again crowds of people came and passed, watching from a distance as she sat there without ever moving.

She did not eat, nor did she drink, she was simply wasting away, waiting to expire.

"Stop it! I can walk with my own two feet! I'm the city lord's son, do you think I'm so weak?!"

A haughty voice echoed down the street as the people suddenly moved to the sides as a group of people walked through.

There was Guard Xing and the rest of his squad standing behind a thin, young man who wore a set of gold robes and slippers. His clothes were beyond extravagant but unfortunately stained and smelled of alcohol.

His face could be described as handsome but the expression was nothing more than disgusting. His cheeks were reddish and covered with a few hickeys while his eyes seemed to show nothing but disdain for everything else.

"Of course not, young master, we would not dare think of you that way. But you are Lord Yan's son and he has commanded us to bring you back safely", said the guard.

The young man smiled and laughed.

"Hah! That old man? Why does he care?! I'm Yan Lang! I don't need his shitty commands! Now let me go back! I still have some unfinished business with a few women. Hehehe."

Despite those words, he continued walking, too drunk to realize that he wasn't going back.

And then, they walked by the courthouse where the woman was and Yan Lang suddenly stopped, wrinkling his nose.

"Ugh, what's that smell?"

Yan Lang looked around, showing an expression of disgust on his beet-red face as he looked at the woman with her family.

"Who is this disgusting bitch? What the hell is she doing in front of the courthouse?! She is sullying this very city! Guards! Get rid of her!"

He shouted out, sneering at her as Guard Xing looked at his men. All of them were stone-faced except for him, he just turned towards the woman and sighed.

Marching forward with several others, they grabbed her and the straw mat, dragging them away from the courthouse. She didn't even react or try to struggle, probably too weak to even try it. But the guards didn't quite have a grip on the straw mats and the one covering the corpses fell off.

And then the smell hit them.

They suddenly stopped and let go, taking several steps back as they covered their nose and mouths. None of them could even bear to look at the rotting bodies of a husband and son. The woman suddenly turned and saw it. Her eyes were wide in shock as she tore herself from the grasps of the guards, stumbling forward until she reached for the straw mat. Unable to stop herself, she embraced their bodies in tears, quietly crying.

There were gasps, and groans, some even gagged at the sight!

But among them, Yan Lang was the loudest.

"Eugh! Isn't that the pair that got in my way?! That's twice now that it happened, only this time, they're even more disgusting!"

He looked and pointed at the broken family, his face was twisted in disgust as he had nothing but cruel words.

"You know what? They deserved to die! You as well! Disrupting the peace of this city! Guards, take her away! Lock her up in the prison! I'll show you a fate worse than death!"

The disgust slowly turned into a warped grin as he looked at her.

The guards were hesitant. In fact, everyone that heard those words felt even more repulsed by him. In the end, Guard Xing spoke to the others.

"Take her to the prison."

They all shared a look, reluctance was in their eyes but they moved nevertheless. The woman looked at Yan Lang, tears streamed down her face as she stared at him.

"What are you staring at? Am I that handsome? Do you want to be with the handsome me?" he responded, sneering at her.

But that wasn't it. As their eyes met, Yan Lang felt a chill down his spine. There was fear within him, the type of fear found when met with a look of unbridled hatred and insanity.

"Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill."

She muttered incessantly under her breath, staring at him with those fearsome eyes. She barely even stood up before suddenly sprinting at him, stretching her arms out to grab him. Her voice suddenly turned into a bloodcurdling scream.

"I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL KILL YOU!"
