"The early morning rays shown in the outskirt of a large city or kingdom or whatever you could call a huge land filled with tiny houses and skyscraper that where almost clustered with its outside surrounded by large tall walls that towered the rest of the buildings except from the building that stood in the center of the city."

"The city was called the city of Zealdeed and there were many cities like that all around the world joint together secretly by railway channels. The world wasn't like that in the past. There were different continents like Africa and Europe and Asia and so on, it was a time where humans lived in different parts of the world and were solely conceded about eating, working, resting, and safety; their personal safety."

"Now things were different. It all became different after the great world war, and no. This war wasn't about countries fighting against themselves over some useless debacle of gaining territories, or a war between men and women or any other nonsensical things like those, no, this was a fight between nature and the world.

The scientists were stupid. They knew that 50% of the world was yet to be researched, but whether they actually wanted to discover it or not, the remaining beings living in that same fifty percent of the world decided to reveal themselves and they were not the kindest."

"Before the world could recover from the shock of what they were seeing, hearing or watching in the news, they came out from every their territory and decided that they had been pushed to far by the humans, they wanted to expand their territory and they didn't care if the humans agreed or not."

"It was a total one sided massacre, one that didn't favour the humans. Those whose countries were affected but survived after the little territorial expansion of these beast mourned their losses and their country. It was shocking to see that all their weapons and massive arms of destruction were utterly useless in the face of the beast.

Twelve years had past after the war and..."

"Ma!" A tiny voice from behind interrupted the teacher's monologue.

"Is there a problem Renault Sophia." Asked the History teacher, she had never been interrupted before in class and was quite surprised.

"You never told us about these creatures or how they looked like?" The blond haired girl with huge glasses asked. "Or isn't that also in history?"

The history professor, professor Andrea, looked around the class and noticed at once almost all the student who were usually nodding their head off in class were suddenly alert.

"Well I supposed it is..." The History teacher said while fiddling with the textbook awkwardly. " ...but the information about them or the details about what they had done was extremely gruesome I don't think anyone who had witnessed that event would want to talk about it."

"Am sorry professor." Interrupted a boy with dark furry hair that almost covered all his forehead. " Aren't we supposed to know all these details, I mean you never know what could happen in the nearest future, if am going to die at least I want to know whats killing me."

"I am sorry Jack, even though I am amused over the fact that you are suddenly curious about history when you've never been before, I do not want to..." Started professor Andrea.

"Was it that bad?" A round faced girl, pony tailed, with large green earrings that complemented her eyes. " We tried asking Mr Buttombell, but his eyes went weird and he began to stutter like we never asked him a single thing."

Professor Andrea tried to reply but felt like there was an invisible lump stuck in her throat. She paused, closed her eyes and steadied herself on her desk. Catching her breath she opened her eyes and found out that all eyes were on her, half embarrassed and horrified she stood straight and the class followed suit by sitting straight on their chairs with eagerness written all over their face. They had finally pressurised their target into talking, most professors would just walk off or feign ignorance even their parents refused to tell them.

"You do not understa... You cannot possibly comprehend wha..." Started the professor in a shrilly voice that scared the whole students and changed  the atmosphere completely. "What happened that day."

She wanted to stop, she didn't like remembering that event, but it felt so good to let it out, to warn, to inform, and if truth be told the students were right, they needed to know what happened, all what that happened that very day.

"It all started on a casual Friday morning." Professor Andrea began. The class went completely still and  no one moved a muscle; except for a bratty pigtailed girl who was chewing on a gum like her life depended on it." Nothing special, nothing different. I was in my workplace, I worked as a waiter at Eyret burgers".

She closed her eyes and felt like she was back to that moment, with no clue of what would happen next. "I remembered it being loud. It was like a k drama, a soap opera but in real life. I was waiting for my shift to be over watching the TV in the cafe and then in a heartbeat the TV channel we were all watch changed to a news channel." She opened her eyes and looked beyond the windows of the class, beyond the horizon to the past.

"We all thought it was some stupid horror film or some funny joke that was caught on the news or some crazy animation that was intended to scare the viewers." Professor Andrea left her table and moved slowly and silently to the window nearest to her without a glance at the students that were watching beside her. "I was irked at the channel and so were many customers so I grabbed the remote and decided to do the cafe a favour by switching the channels, still it was the same news as the first.

I switched and switched and switched but all I saw was news of the same thing happening in different parts of the world."

"We wondered if it really was real. We were all focused on the TV as we saw videos live of properties being destroyed, people in total chaos, guns and missile flying everywhere and dust and smoke blocking our view from what they were firing at,it felt like the end of the world, but even the end had a cause."

"We thought it was war but before we could verbally agree to that, we all saw something that froze our mind. In sympathy for those who were dying we had forgotten that we also lived close to the sea side and it wasn't until we saw our area mapped off for evacuation on the news did we really move. We scrambled up and down the street, some woman was yelling about her kids. I wanted to get back to my apartment to grab a couple things."

"I got to my apartment only to find that most of the people living there were gone, some had also returned like me to take their belongings and kids. I hurried out and packed my large suitcase came out and knew that even if I could, I wouldn't be able to board a taxi at all due to the chaotic movement outside. So I dragged my box down the street, got bumped by many individuals, lost my footings once or twice, almost got hit by I car but I kept on moving, albeit slower due to my heavy suitcase."

She faced the students and they all shifted uncomfortably on their seats when they saw their professor's face, they almost thought she was dead for a moment.

"I heard loud screams behind me and when I turned I was awestruck at the sudden collapse of the tall magnificent buildings far, far behind me. There was no explosion, no water, it felt like something large, had smashed into these buildings and was leveling it down in seconds. The smokes from that far was traveling at a great speed towards me."

"I didn't know how long I had stood there watching until a man collided with me from behind, he passed by after steadying himself, he looked horrified and kept on shout 'my boys!' Over and over again while heading straight for the smoke in a dash. I stood up and watched from the corner of my eyes as the man entered the smoke, seconds later, I heard a loud shout from that direction and saw the same man running at breakneck speed out of the smoke, screaming to me to run at the top of his voice."

The student watched as their professor's body started to shake in fear and felt a bit agitated for asking her to relive the story for them.

"He had almost come out of the smoke but something...something dragged him back." She hiccupped, her eyes red, her fingernails digging into her hand. " I saw something fly out and land on a truck beside me, those people who were evacuating also froze on spot as the object fell off the truck to the ground to reveal that that object was the head of the man who had ran into the smoke...and then I saw..."

She froze up to her mind reeling as she saw something large, dark, tall as the size a large truck placed horizontally and bloodied coming out of the smoke.

The class had reeled in forward now, turned between curiosity and fear they watched her with one question on their mind.

"What did you see professor?" Asked a feeble voice from behind the class.

Professor Andrea almost choked, she opened her mouth to say the words, to describe to them the fear, to share her venom of what it felt like to be the prey.

"I saw..." The distant sound of the school bell interrupted her and seemed to have brought everyone back to earth.

"I... I have to go..." She stammered as she moved towards the door with a speed that caught every student off guard. "...go get coffee." She completed as she exited the classroom.

"Jeez?" A tall brawny jock cried in disappointment. " I guess we'll never know now, would we?"

...whew, that's one done, more to come...
