suspicion

19:15pm...

Alex was in his office, his head was spinning as for the last 2 Days, he still got nothing concerning the murder of the case... he sat on his chair holding on his head trying to figure out what's going on here, he knew that someone was trying to cover the murder but, who was it, could it be the officers in the police station or who else?

then, he called Lee inside, Lee came in and asked

"Yes sir?"

"sit down officer Lee"

"Yes sir"

officer Lee sat down, he saw the tension in Alex's eyes and his heart started pounding fearing that he won't be able to remain quiet anymore the moment he decides to talk.

"I know you think the same way as I do"

"Meaning sir?"

"Concerning the murder case"

Officer Lee didn't expect the sheriff to ask him, of all other people this question. he sat properly and asked him

" Why do you think so sir? "

" Because I've seen you, and I know you know something about this whole thing that is going on here officer Lee "

" No sir, you're mistaken, I know nothing about what's going on with the murder case, we've been solving the case together sir and am sure if I knew something about it then I would have told you isn't it sir? "

"Yes you would have, but then again, you wouldn't"

" Meaning sir"

Alex stood from his chair and started walking around his office, this tensed things up in the room and Officer Lee knew that Alex had something in mind.

"I mean, if someone threatens you like.... if you say anything concerning what happened then, things will get out of hand"

lex looked at officer Lee and told him

" Am sure you got a family officer, a wife and a loving daughter"

" How did you..... "

" I looked into your files and found out everything about you, so technically, the fear of losing your family due to your own stupidity is clearly getting the better of you "

" What are you trying to say sir? "

" Am trying to say that, just like Mart's entire family, you've also been threatened officer lee "

" You're wrong sir"

" and why would I be when everything is so crystal clear? "

" Just having a thought sir, but you're wrong concerning me. am a police officer sir, it's my duty to protect the citizens of New York city from criminals then why would I hide a criminal if I know who it is? "

" Then do one thing for me, bring me all the criminal records in New York, right now"

" Yes sir"

officer Lee stood and went out, Alex breathed a little and let it out.

officer lee went to the files of all criminals in New York city, he took them, and left with them heading to Alex's office.

" Here they are sir"

" Alright, you may leave officer Lee "

" Thank you sir"

officer Lee turned and left the office, and as for alex, he just sat on his chair and checked through the criminal records....

Alex was just in a dilema about all the stuff thats going on, he knew that one of his police officers knew something about the murder and perhaps even know the murder himself, but he just couldn't figure out who it was, this afternoon, he suspected that perhaps by the way that officer Lee was looking at him, maybe he wanted him to know something but was just afraid to say it and that's why he decided to talk things out with him in the evening.but then he thought maybe he was wrong about it and that's why he decided to let things go. and started looking into the files of all criminal records in New York....

21:45pm

Alex was now tired and he couldn't stop yearning, then closed all his files and decided maybe now it was time to go back home. he took his jacket and left his office, outside, he saw only few officers left. ND most of them already went back home. the others stood and asked

"Anything you need sir?"

"No, nothing, am just heading back home"

"Alright sir"

"If anything happens contact me, especially concerning the murder case"

"Yes sir"

"Alright, I'll see you guys"

" Have a good night sir"

Alex smiled and left.

the night was cold in New York, especially with the wet atmosphere as it was raining slowly, he drove through the wet roads of New York as his mind was lost somewhere else.

he arrived at his home around 22:04pm.

he entered inside and went straight to his daughter's room.

Lorena was busy chatting when her dad opened the room. as soon as the door was open, Lorena sat and Sid to her dad

"oh! your back!"

"Yes, am back"

he went to her and gave her a tight hug.

"You're still awake?"

"Yeah actually"

"Busy chatting with that guy you came with today"

"Dad come on"

Lorena said as she was busy chuckling to what her dad seems to be thinking concerning this whole situation.

"you still have those kind of ideas about me and Rider?"

"Just reminding you that his too old for you cupcake"

"Ok so let say that his too old for me dad so tell me something,you'd prefer me dating those teenagers hitting at me at school rather than dating a guy who's already successful and

got the right mindset just because his too old for me?"

Alex rolled his eyes and told her

"No but actually, I don't want you to date at all"

" Well that's unfair, you dated mom and even had me on the process and you don't want me to date? seems like you're the jealous type of a father"

" Every father in the world is jealous when it comes to her daughter dating a random guy whom she just met on braid day light"

" Yeah right, you and I are never gonna be on the same page when it comes to dating so just forget about it."

" and that's true"

" so tell me, found out anything concerning the murder case"

" Still nothing but am looking through it"

" hope you'll find him soon so you can relax a little bit "

" Yeah me too, anyway, good night cupcake"

Alex stood and bent as he kissed her on her forehead.

"Good night too dad"

Alex stood straight and and headed out

"and don't chat with that Rider"

"can't promise that"

Alex turned with a shocked gaze and asked

"Excuse me?!!"

"love you dad!!!!"

Lorena went to the door and shut it closed.
