1 Chapter 1

"If you kill me, you become me."

"Either way, I Live."

"I will not let the darkness and hatred consume me, I will not become you." Barry spat at the scarred man.

*thud*

The man was punched in his face and his vision blurred.

'I've gone this far. I must move.' The man thought within.

As Barry turned around to see his friends, the man rose. He gathered his remaining strength as electricity crackled around his body.

"DIE!"

*BANG*

The scarred man dropped down. His spine cracked from the bullet that pierced it from behind.

'No, this isn't suppose to happen. I was suppose to live. Why is everything going wrong. Why?' Questions ran through his head.

Did he regret everything he did?

No.

Everyone shunned him, betrayed his efforts. They turned a blind eye from his sacrifice and treated him as if he was invisible.

'It always worked, why is it different now? WHY!?'

The man was on the ground lying on a puddle of blood. His eyes were still open, but, empty.

'What could I've done differently?'

Lifeless and powerless, his drive slowly dissipating.

*VRRRRRRRRRRR*

A spiralling wormhole appeared behind the lying man causing Barry and his friends to be surprised. Barry immediately rushed for the man.

"NOOOOOOOO!" Barry yelled.

Time seemed to slow as the only movement came from the red 'Flash' and a white aura.

The white aura emerged from the wormhole and prevented Barry from touching the lying man. The man was lifted and pulled into the wormhole.

'Was everything worth it? What if I had abandoned them and lived new life?' The man was experiencing flashbacks of his life. '

'What was I trying to prove again?'

Oblivious to the fact that his body was being transported, the man was trying to think of the different paths that he could've taken after he was abandoned.

The white aura engulfed the bloodied man and healed his wounds.

The scarred man began to regain his senses. His touch, smell, and sound.

It was a familiar sensation.

His eyes blinked open. He was in a tunnel whose walls appeared similar to a water torrent.

"Why am I alive?" The man stood up and looked around at his surroundings. He was confused.

"I saved you as compensation for all the time you served me." A voice suddenly spoke out.

A ball of light glowed and levitated towards the man.

He was confused as it all seemed too unbelievable.

The ball felt really... familiar?

The man just stared at the glowing ball. His face expressionless and unreadable.

"You're the speed force?" The man asked slowly.

"No, the speed force is a but a power. I am the true ruler of it" The glowing ball replied.

The man slowly approached the ball and stopped just as he was a metre in front of it.

"I want you to serve me longer." The ball spoke in a very commanding tone. "I have a task for you..."

The ball waited for an answer and observed the man it saved.

The man reached for the ball of glass. The ball of glass allowed the man to grasp it as it felt no ill-intent coming from the man.

The man felt the familiar power coursing through his body. Red lightning crackling and jolting through his body.

Unexpectedly, the man with all his physical strength, crushed the ball. He crushed the speed force.

"You... you are the source of everything I've been through. You took everything away from me." The man's calm demeanor turned into one of pure anger and hatred.

The tunnel reverberated and everything started shaking both in the speed force and Earth one.

The red lightning jumping around the man's body turned blue. He felt his body strengthen and a sudden surge of energy flowed through his body.

The overwhelming power came with an unbeatable pain.

"AAAAAaaarghhhh" The man screamed, his eyes bloodshot. He felt his skin starting to burn, his heart unrealistically fast.

So long has passed, years. He had flashbacks of all his darkest days. The days when he needed them the most. The days when THEY abandoned him. It replayed in his mind continuously and it drew him, mad.

He saved everyone, did his best. He witnessed his mother being murdered. Spent all of his life trying to find the murderer to free his father, just to witness his friend murder his father.

He fought to save the people he loved, but in return, they all turned their backs on him.

The woman he loved, his best friends, the 'real' him.

Days became months, and months turned to years.

It replayed over and over and over again.

He was forced to go through every single miserable moment. He tried to ignore it but couldn't. He acted like a God, a man devoid of emotions, but in the end, he was still... Barry.

Still feeling the pain, the man could now feel something else. As he was witnessing his father about to be murdered for the millionth time, besides the rage and sorrow that pierced his heart, he felt something.

He turned his head to face the direction of the source. Looking at it, he felt powerful.

The man reached for the orb, feeling that it would end his eternal torture.

The orb floated towards him and entered his body. As soon as the feeling disappeared, the man grabbed the murderer of his father by the head and slammed it on the ground.

Instead of a gruesome scene, the whole scenery changed.

The man was back in the tunnel of torrents, the speed force.

He felt a small part of his new power being drained and with a surge of energy, the man cut off all his connections and he felt the leak in his power stop.

He is now the only speedster in existence.

He is Savitar, the true God of speed.
