240 "It's like carrying two grapefruits on my chest..."

Qie Xieling had no idea that Jolie had misunderstood him and so did everybody else. Everyone thought he had a death wish but he, out of everyone wanted to live more than anyone else. Qie Xieling slowly regained consciousness, his eyes struggling to focus as he blinked away the remnants of his hazy state.

His heavy eyelids seemed to defy his desire to wake up fully. Every muscle in his body screamed in protest, reminding him of the severe punishment he had endured. 

With a soft grunt, Qie Xieling mustered the strength to turn over, intent on finding a more comfortable position. But his feeble attempt was met with an unexpected clanking sound, emanating from his ankle. 

His heart sank as he cast a weary gaze downward, revealing a chain securely fastened around his leg. The weight of defeat settled upon him as he pressed his face into the bed.

Suddenly, the door of the basement creaked open, causing Qie Xieling to snap up with renewed vigilance.
