15 CH 15 ~ Weakling

Hertz Residence~

"Honey… I am not going to die, right?"

"Why am I seeing hallucination?"

The duchess speaks with a trembling voice as her light coral eyes gets filled up with tears.

The duke was equally shocked to see his son, whom had almost cut ties with them, never wrote back or visited them for the last five years was suddenly standing at their door steps today.

"Your mana is weak but it will keep running for a few more years I guess. So you aren't going to die now."

Noah replied and the whole duchy became silent again.

As the silent lingered around a few more minutes, Noah sighed.

He really shouldn't have come back here.

How could he forget that it was him who had cut ties with them at such a young age?

Unlike the other parents he had got, the duke and duchess of the Hertz was the most uncomfortable one to deal with.

They asked for nothing in return from him, and their love was making him feel burdened.

All the other parents abandoned him, tortured him or used him for power.

But the duchess was different.

The way she would always cling to him and cared for him was making him feel uncomfortable.

They will also leave him alone and die in the end too, right?

Then what was the use of getting attach or even give her false hope when he couldn't?

Thus, as soon as his magic powers waken during his fifth birthday, he left the family and went to the magic tower.

The duchess cried and begged him to not go as he is the only child she had.

She couldn't even conceive another child due to her poor health condition and became sicker after Noah left.

The duke was greatly disappointed on his own son because of his attitude towards the duchess, so he didn't even try to stop his son from leaving the family.

He thought the child will get better, but unexpectedly the more love she showed, his son's attitudes turned worsen.

Kieran still remembered the day he had slapped his son, who was only five years old at that time.

Flashback~

"Baby… Did someone bully you here?"

"Why do you want to live mommy and go to that magic tower?"

Duchess Sierra's light coral eyes was filled with tears as she kneeled down on the ground and held her five year old son on her arms.

His grey eyes wasn't looking at her and he hang down his head, thus his dark purple hair was even making it unable for her to see his expression.

"Baby please… why don't you share it with mommy, what do you not like here?"

"Mommy will change it immediately for you and-"

"TOO NOISY!"

Duchess Sierra flinches as Noah suddenly speaks out with his gritted teeth, and her hands which were holding him starts to tremble.

"B-Baby?"

The duchess shuttered but Noah cut off her words angrily, her innocent face and love was really burdening him.

"I AM NOT A BABY! STOP CALING ME THAT!"

"WHY ARE YOU SO NOISY?!"

"CAN'T YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE?!"

Noah speaks all the words in one breath and everyone around them seem to be freeze because of his words.

Sierra's light coral eyes widens with shock.

Never once she imagined that she was the one whom he didn't like, but why?

From the moment she conceived him, she was so happy.

She loved him so much, then why does her baby doesn't like her?

What did she do wrong?

"W-What…Are y-you…say-saying, B-Baby?"

"M-Mommy…L-Loves y-you…s-so…so much…"

Sierra desperately tried to hold onto her five year old son as her light coral eyes became filled with tears.

She endured every pain to bring him in this world, even when her husband had protested to her pregnancy because of her weak body; she didn't give up on him.

Her trembling hands tried to touch Noah's face but he yanked away her hands.

"JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!"

"I DON'T NEED THE LOVE FROM A WEAKLING LIKE YOU-"

But to Noah's surprise, he didn't expect to use a little bit of his magic powers accidentally because of his emotions and ended up pushing Sierra on the ground.

"DUCHESS!!"

"MY LADY!!"

Guilt and regret flashed through his grey eyes as he watched the maids to rush towards Sierra to help her to get up, where her light coral eyes stayed glued on his face with shock.

Does her baby really hate her that much?

Because she is weak and her love is pathetic to him?

Noah clenched his tiny fists as he wanted to take a step towards her and tell her that she isn't weak.

He didn't mean to say that and hurt her.

But even before he could get a hold of his emotions his head tilted to the side as a hand slap fall on his cheeks.

The slap was light but considering the body of a child, it was a brutal hit.

"NOAH DE KIERAN HERTZ…"

"I REGRET LETTING YOU BORN IN THIS WORLD!"

Duke Hertz coldly spoke as his grey eyes stared at his son with no emotion.

"KIERAN!"

Sierra struggled to get up with the help of the maids as she shouted at her husband angrily for saying such brutal words to a child, not to mention slapping him.

"How-How can you say that to our child?!"

Her eyes filled up with tears as she gasped for breath while speaking.

"He is not our child, Sierra… He can't be!"

"HOW CAN A SON SAY THAT HIS MOTHER IS WEAK, WHEN HE IS THE SOLE REASON FOR YOUR POOR HEALTH?!"

"DESPITE HIS THIS ATTITUDE TOWARDS YOU, I NEVER PUNISHED HIM BECAUSE OF YOUR WORDS AND BEGGINGS!"

"BUT HE NEVER REFLECTED ON HIMSELF AND NOW HE HAS WORSEN EVEN MORE-"

Kieran couldn't finish his words as suddenly a thud sounding came from behind and his grey eyes widened with horror.

"Si-Sierra!!!"

The whole duchy fall into chaos as the duchess had fainted all of a sudden.

The doctor's kept going in and out of the room, where the duchess yelled with pain.

But no matter what, they couldn't find out what was causing her chest pain.

Noah just stood outside of the room as everyone just passed by him like he didn't even existed there, which was what he wanted.

But now he felt guilty, he wanted to see Sierra when she woke up.

Unfortunately, before he could even take a step in the room, he was stopped by the cold stare of his father and then he heard his father speaking to his aid.

"Help the young master to pack up his bags and then… settle him down at the magic tower."
