Part 62: Realization

The earth siren pretends to think for a moment. "Actually, Malnivero told me that the pearl used to write Destiny's name is said to be the recent soulmate." The earth siren looked at Kosair with a fake shocked expression at the end.

Kosair couldn't believe what he heard and his face grew dark. "So...it was mine? But how did it end up-"

Kosair then fell into a big realization and his tears began to stream down his face as he laughed in pain. "Mom, how can you be so selfish?" He whispered to himself. "Why did you do it?"

The Earth siren tries to put a hand on his shoulder but he moves away. "She just wanted you to stay alive. Don't you remember what happens when your soulmate-"

"I know." He said in a monotone voice. "I guess the kingdom is what I have left to fight for."

Kosair wiped his tears and started to swim back to the direction of the palace.

The earth siren smiled as her plan of revenge is going smoothly. She thinks about prince Nile and her smile turned into a sad one. "I just need a glowing blue pearl and Destiny's help, Nile. I'll bring you back soon."

She waves her hand around and the dust around her falls back to the ground and she swims back to the palace.

"You did what?!" Kole's shocked voice almost alerted the guards.

"Shh Kole, you're brother might hear you." Olivia tries to calm Kole down.

"Mom, do you know how much he's going to resent you?" Kole asked Olivia with a pained expression. "You just gave away what was supposed to be the love of his life. It's not your decision to make to write Destiny's name on Caroline." Kole said to Olivia, making her look at the ground.

On cue, Kosair appeared behind them and just looked at them with no emotion. He picked up the sword he threw earlier and picked up his training armor inside a chest in the corner of the room. "I'm off to train. I'll be back."

As Kosair was about to leave the room, Olivia called him. "Kosair..."

Kosair stopped and sighed. "I heard everything. Kole's right. You will never know how betrayed I feel."

Olivia's heart broke as Kosair leaves the room. Kole could only agree in his head but spare no pity for his mother. She's the queen, she should've been wiser. She should've thought of this through before making that decision.

The screams of terror erupt from Ruby's mouth as she finds disemboweled roadkill in her house.

A notification rang from her phone. It was the school she applied for and her application was denied, and another application from her dream school declined her, and the last school she applied for denied her one more time.

She received a letter from the principal of her current school to expel her and it will be on her permanent record.

The sobs of that girl were music to Harvey's ears. "That's what you get, whence." he whispered to himself. "No one hurts Caroline."

It was moments later when a police car stopped in front of her place and Harvey casually watches from behind a tree enjoying the shade as the cops file Ruby for an arrest warrant. She'll be taken to court for trespassing and harassment. It will be worth a year of imprisonment for her age. Harvey would think at the back of his mind that it never be enough from what she did but it will be enough to ruin her life.

As the cops leave, the audible cries and sobs coming from that house can be heard by multiple neighbors. Harvey could see one of the neighbors smile and the other laugh silently, mouthing "Karma's a bitch."

Back in Caroline's house.

Caroline gasped "You want me to do what?"
