-April 1st-

I've been so focused on my plans and projects that I almost forgot that April 1st was approaching. And this could seem like just any normal day, but I knew that for a duo this is a very special day.

April 1st is the twins' birthday, and from what I've heard from older students, ever since the twins arrived at school, every year on that same day the school is hit by a wave of pranks.

And with that information, I knew what present I would give them.

I knew that they don't really care about presents or expensive items, so I decided their present would be me playing one of my best pranks in the entire school.

Of course, I would also give them some prank items that I created.

The prank I played was to give everyone at the school characteristics of magical creatures, where some students had dragon faces, and other troll arms. Even the teachers were hit by the prank, and seeing a Snape Dementor terrified and delighted many people, with the twins being part of the last group.

And as a combo, the twins and I teamed up as the Three Musketeers to end the day with a huge prank explosion.

At the end of the day, from their feelings, I was sure this was one of their best birthdays.

-Great Hall - Breakfast-

Today is Monday, which meant that my first class of the day would be Potions, and according to Professor Snape, we would be making a Strength Potion, and any honorable Minecraft player would be jumping with excitement when making that potion.

I'm a little better at potion brewing, thanks to the items I bought at Diagon Alley, and my weekly studies.

While I was thinking about class, Hermes arrived with a note, and the note was from Hagrid warning that the egg was about to hatch, and across the Great Hall I could see Hedwig also carrying a note for the trio.

'The egg will hatch in the break between first and second class' I mused, 'Should I stop Malfoy from spying on us? Hmm, nah, if Hagrid doesn't have a reason to send Norberta away, he's likely to take care of her until she's a full-grown dragon in the Forbidden Forest, that is, if the dragon is not discovered sooner, which would be a big problem for Hagrid and for the Headmaster'

-Hagrid's Hut-

Potions class went smoothly, with me being the first to finish the potion flawlessly, which was probably due to my excitement at making it. As soon as class ended, I immediately started heading to Hagrid's hut.

Arriving at the door of Hagrid's hut, I heard the voices of the golden trio. I then raised my hand to knock on the door, ignoring the lurking ferret.

*Knock! Knock!*

"Hagrid!" I called, to let him know it was me.

"Hi Ethan, glad you came, it's almost hatching" Hagrid said as he opened the door, letting me in.

As soon as I walked in, the trio's startled eyes immediately went to me.

"What are you doing here?" Weasley asked in surprise.

"I came here to say your mom is calling you," I replied sarcastically.

"Serious?"

"So Hagrid" I turned to the half-giant, ignoring the only redhead in the hut who was still looking at me stupidly, "Where's the little one?" I asked.

"Oh, he's over there" he said pointing to the egg, which was on a table.

"It's going to hatch in a few minutes," I said, staring at the egg, and even using my Magic Vision to see if anything magical would happen when the egg was going to hatch.

"How do you know?" Granger asked me.

"I don't know, a feeling maybe" I shrugged, getting a flat look from the girl.

"Hagrid, what is he doing here?" Potter, who had been quiet this entire time, asked, eyeing me warily.

"Um, obviously he's here to see the little dragon hatch," Hagrid replied, as focused on the egg as I was.

"But aren't you afraid, well… that he'll tell someone?" Potter asked, whispering the last part to the other two members of the trio and Hagrid, but I heard it easily.

"Oh, you don't have to worry about that! I trust him, and besides, he found out about the egg long before you did," Hagrid said, dismissing his suspicions with a wave of his hands. But that still didn't stop the trio from looking at me suspiciously, nor from looking at me surprised either, as they didn't expect me to have found out about the egg before they did.

'Why are you so suspicious of me? I didn't even do anything to you guys,' I thought as I rolled my eyes, obviously forgetting when I silenced Potter in the hospital wing or when I threatened to put Weasley's finger in his spot where the sun doesn't shine.

Any other exchange was interrupted by the sound of something cracking, and with everyone following the sound to the source, we saw tiny cracks appearing in the dragon's egg.

With everyone paying full attention to the egg, I glanced at the window out of the corner of my eye, seeing the Slytherin blonde spying on us. Seeing that he was also paying attention to the egg, I increased the potency of my Magic Vision, trying to absorb every detail of Norberta's birth.

The cracks in the egg got bigger, until a small hole was made in the egg, and out of it came a little reptilian face. With the egg breaking even further, Norbert, or Norberta, started to come out of the egg, and at some point she was completely out of it, stumbling on her feet as she fumbled with her own huge wings.

The first thing a baby dragon does at birth, like many other animals, is to look for its mother, and Norberta was no different. And probably because it was the most striking thing in the room, or because she was literally with her face almost touching the baby dragon, the first thing Norberta saw was Hagrid.

From Norberta's feelings, I knew she was confused but happy.

"He is not handsome?" Hagrid asked affectionately, reaching out to pet the dragon, only to be nearly bitten by those small but sharp fangs, "Look, he recognizes Mom."

Hearing that from Hagrid, even though I knew he was right, made me snort.

"Hagrid, exactly how fast does a Norwegian dragon grow?" Granger asked, but Hagrid didn't answer as he was staring palely at his window.

"Hagrid?" Weasley called after him, only to be startled when Hagrid jumped up and quickly approached the window.

"Hagrid, what happened??" Potter asked.

"Someone was spying on us through the window, a boy is running towards the castle," he replied, and when the trio went to the window to look for the boy, they saw a familiar platinum blond hair.

""Damn"" Potter and Weasley cursed, and Granger didn't even try to scold them.

"Malfoy saw us, and even worse, he saw the dragon!" Granger exclaimed.

"Shit, I knew we must have drowned him in the lake a long time ago" Weasley grumbled.

And while the trio and Hagrid panicked, I was looking at the baby dragon, who was curiously looking at me too.

I then tilted my head to the side, and playfully the little dragon did the same. Seeing that Norberta was imitating me, I lifted my left arm a little, and she, who didn't have much hand coordination, tried, and failed, to lift her wing, which was bigger than her body.

With the little dragon trying to control her body to imitate me, which I thought was really cute, I started thinking about using Beast Talk on her, but I didn't want to risk doing that in front of the trio, or even making the connection with a newborn being, as I had no idea if it would have side effects either way.

'I'll wait until the day it she'll be delivered to Charlie's friends, since by then she'd have at least two weeks to live, which is probably enough for me to try a weak connection with her' I reflected.

Trying to connect with any two-week-old baby animal would probably be dangerous, but dragons grow faster than other creatures, which is why I was confident nothing would happen at that moment, and that confidence came from an instinct inside me, and generally my instincts are never wrong.

'One way or another, I have Quirrellmort to thank for allowing me this opportunity, as I doubt I could meet a baby dragon that easily any other time' I thought.

End.
