"Fenris, please…" Kanaru saw the glowing light. He knew how that thing could summon light beams to cut and toast whoever it touched. The king would kill the maiden if he didn't act fast enough.

Not that Kanaru didn't want the tiger to suffer, but he didn't want things to take a turn for the worse. The tiger maiden had colleagues who would vouch for Kanaru's 'intentions' on the girl. If Fenris killed the maiden, it would just be the king covering up for his new favorite. The prince couldn't let Fenris suffer from public prosecution, even if the case went away in the court of Middlemist.

Kanaru forced his body to hug Fenris's leg. Fenris then looked down at the bird prince dyeing the king's clothes with his own blood this time. Kanaru looked up at him with a grave expression.
