Sarah

---

Sarah sat at the kitchen table, her hands trembling as she stared down at the plate of food in front of her once again . Her heart pounded against her chest aggressively, each beat echoing the conflict raging inside her. She picked up the fork, her fingers white-knuckled, and stabbed at the salad leaves. The crisp sound of the lettuce tearing felt deafening in the silence of the room.she played around with it , a tactic she'd do to make everyone think she had eaten a bit of it .

Her mother watched from across the table, her eyes filled with concern and love. "Sweetheart, stop picking at it …please try to eat. You need to take care of yourself," she pleaded, her voice gentle but firm as she watched Sarah carefully.

Sarah's throat tightened, the lump forming as she struggled to swallow her fear. "I.. I'm eating it ! ," she whispered, her voice barely above a breath but harsh as she just stared at her plate .

Tears welled up in her eyes, blurring her vision as the memories flooded back. , "no ..no don't do this . I can't brake in front of her "she thought to herself The countless nights spent counting calories, the relentless voice in her head dictating every bite, every morsel. She longed to break free from its suffocating grip, but the chains of her disorder held her captive.

"What's wrong with the food , is it not nice or something ? " her mum looked at her , pointing at her plate .

"It's not about the food, Mom," she choked out, her voice sharp and trembling with emotion. "It's about… it's stupid and non of your business" she stops as she looks up meeting her mums watered eyes "If I can't control this , then... then what can I fucking control, it's not that easy , stop judging!?"

Her mother's hand reached out, offering comfort as she places it on Sarah's hand ,"But sweetheart, this isn't control. It's destroying you, piece by piece," she said, her voice breaking with emotion. "You're slipping away from us, and I don't know how to bring you back.i thought you were finaly getting somewhere.."

Sarah's shoulders shook with silent sobs, the weight of her struggle pressing down on her fragile frame. She wanted to scream, to rage against the darkness consuming her from within. But all she could manage was a whisper, a plea for someone to see the pain beneath the surface.

"I'm trying, Mum," she whispered, her voice trembling with raw vulnerability. "But I don't know if I can do this anymore. I don't know if I have the strength."Sarah places her head on the table closing her eyes as she silently cried .

"Darling…" she said getting up and walking toward Sarah and enveloped her in a warm comforting hug, holding her close as if to shield her from the storm raging outside. "You don't have to do this alone, sweetheart," she whispered, her voice shaken and scared . "We'll fight this together, every step of the way."
