8 Bordering on Madness

I hope things don't get too confused for you guys, i'm a begginer writer and its my first time writting fanfiction related to "Sword Art Online."

I'm looking forward to do my best and build a story, at least, interesting and with time, understand the plot u want to convey.

If you have any criticism or doubt, you can send me your feedback and i will gladly answer it with calm and in the future, try to correct certain things so that there is no confusion in your mind that read a lot all day! Good reading.

"Well, everyone who's here... knows that it took me years to create this game, through a lot of effort, days without eating, years without seeing my family..." Kayaba went on a bit about his experience, and everyone paid attention.

Reno then stood in his corner against the red panel that prevented the players from leaving and watched Kayaba Akihiko from afar.

"Let's see what will be done." Reno said in his mind with a cold expression and observed everything around him.

"Well, since you're all gathered here... know that this world was never just for personal entertainment." Kayaba said with a mysterious tone to the players, hinting at unknown actions.

Some were curious about what might happen, but Reno seemed suspicious of the Sword Art Online creator's dialog.

He then opened the player menu and looked at the current state of the system.

Because he had the intuition that sudden things like this would change the system in such a way... and he believed in future changes to the world, for better functions and options.

[Items Kept/Applied in the System] History of items, codes, and gifts received over time.

He knew he'd get an answer that way... but unfortunately, all kinds of modifications and applications in the game only appear in the story or something similar after 5 minutes.

As the server loads thousands of pieces of information simultaneously, the company's computers and machines are active day and night... all to maintain performance and user consistency in the game.

So, translating all this... he wouldn't get any immediate response from looking at the player menu, so now it's all in Kayaba's hands.

"I'd still like to know where Reno is, I know he's the one who fled the plains." Kirito thought, observing the sides of the initial city, looking for any trace of Reno in any corner.

Kirito knew that Reno was somewhere in the square, but he couldn't distinguish the areas where he currently is.

There's a crowd on many corners, so it would be tricky to discover Reno's true face.

"Players, open your inventories... because I've sent you a valuable item." Warns Kayaba and points his finger at everyone present.

The crowd then opened their inventories, but Kayaba noticed someone unusual in the corners of the square... there was a boy who was watching his own system first.

He didn't understand why, since the players had nothing in mind to look for in the system other than pre-created settings.

Nothing happened, but Reno's decision... was really unusual, as if he knew the path Kayaba would follow and the orders he would give.

"Hmm..." Kayaba thinks, watching Reno from afar for a few seconds, and then looks away completely.

"Huh? A mirror?" Said some girl in the square and she looked at her reflection in the mirror.

After looking at her own reflection, she began to glow and everything about her changed to a different appearance.

Everyone around began to look at their own faces in the reflection of the mirror and began to change their appearance in a matter of seconds.

"Kirito! What happened to me?!" Exclaims Klein, looking at his own face and immediately looking at Kirito's face.

He realizes that everyone looks different from normal... it's as if everyone now has their own appearance, only in the game and created by Kayaba.

However, that's not what he did.

"Everyone now has their own appearance in the real world, because at the end of the day... Sword Art Online is my world, and I've imprisoned all of you here." Kayaba said in a voice of admiration and pride.

After hearing this, they started screaming and going crazy.

"Shit! You're a man!" Said an old man who was standing next to another strange man next to him.

In fact, the stranger was pretending to be a woman to attract the attention of fragile men and the old man was a man with a false chivalrous personality.

Everyone now discovers that their bodies and faces, which came from the real world, are now in the game.

"Well, now one last warning." Kayaba said, starting to finalize what he was going to say.

"Now, in the real news, there are reports of people being killed for trying to escape from this world... because Nevergear cannot be forcibly removed without being turned off via the exit button, which will no longer exist according to my system." Kayaba adds several accounts of people who cried when they learned that their children and relatives had died trying to escape the game.

"In the end, death is the intense electrocution of the equipment... exploding their own minds and putting them into orbit." He concludes by warning anyone who abruptly removes the equipment from their body.

Everyone is shocked by this, but Reno and Kirito remain emotionless.

"Mom, I beg you..." Reno said in his own mind, watching the scene without any emotion on his face.

"Don't remove our Nevergears without good reason!" Reno and Kirito shout simultaneously in their own minds.

"You'll have to finish the game to get out of here, good luck everyone." Kayaba finishes and simply begins to disappear from the square.

Kirito and Reno then notice two things in their own hands.
