1 Perishing (Rewritten)

"Here we are again." My voice echoed through the hallway.

I've lost track of how many resets it's been, I've lost all hope of ever changing anything, and despite that, I still put on a smile.

"Remember my question when we fought? No matter how bad anyone could be, they could change?" I grinned.

"𝗜 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝘃𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿." My eyes lit and I immediately launched an attack.

As per usual, the human had dodged every attack with precision.

"You know the deal." I sighed, they sped towards me and attempted to strike me.

"Kids like you… No… Monsters like you… 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹!" I summon a series of large gaster blasters to fire on the human, all the while throwing blue bones towards them so that they would stop.

I've done something entirely different from the previous times. Why? It felt as if that if I didn't give this one time my all, everything would disappear.

The human proceeded to dodge elegantly, not without taking some injuries however.

Light shining through the corridor, our battle continued as we fought back and forth.

"𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆." I kept giving it my all this one time, however it was draining me faster than usual.

'Damn it, if this continues on, it's a guarantee I'll lose..' I quickly thought before maneuvering around an oncoming knife.

My body was tiring out from moving and using so much magic power that it started having a toll on me.

𝐒𝐖𝐎𝐎𝐒𝐇

I barely dodged the attack, unfortunately it had scrapped a small part of my right arm.

"Guh." I grunted from the pain, normally I would've died from this, but due to it being a scrape, I held onto .1 of my hp, leaving me badly injured.

I started bleeding from my mouth as the human watched menacingly.

I stayed silent and began another assault with my weakened body.

Bones flying around, Blasters firing around, launching the human back so that they don't hit me.

𝘽𝙁𝙒𝙊𝙊𝙈!

"Huff… Puff…" I tried to take a break, but the human, who'd just eaten a pie ran up to me and attempted to slice me into pieces.

"Hup!" I shouted as I tried to fight back using a bone as a shield.

𝐁𝐀𝐌!

The bone barrier was immediately destroyed, and the human came flying at me with a knife in their hands.

𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗸!

I felt the metal slicing against my chest, and the cold yet hot feeling of blood pouring out.

"..." I remained silent as I watched the blood ooze from my wound.

"Welp. I'm goin to Grillbys." I stood up weakly to walk away, but was kicked to the ground.

"What?!" I was shocked as I saw the human looming over me.

"..." The human was silent as usual, but…

"I'll make you join your brother. And then we'll keep doing that for eternity." A strange droopy face appeared upon their head.

I watched as my body instantly turned to dust, and the human walked away as if they'd done nothing at all.

'No… Please!' I tried to call out to anyone, knowing that there was nothing truly out there, I still tried.

'I don't want to watch everyone die over and over again..!' I tried to reach out, but felt my conscious fading away.

'Please…' I tried to reach out in the black abyss that my eyes had seen.

My… Body?

It felt as if I was in an endless sea of nothingness.

I could feel the cold water enveloping my body, but I felt as if I could not resist.

My eyes suddenly started to work and I could see the dark watery abyss.

It was an endless sea of nothingness, no surface, and no floor.

'Is this… The void?' I thought to myself.

I've never seen it, but there were many theories that it existed.

'Maybe… HUH?!' I was petrified as a familiar face suddenly appeared before me.

It made a bunch of strange symbols with its hands and gibberish with its mouth.

I could barely make out what it was saying due to how it sounded murky, but my vision and my sense instantly disappeared.

"Ugh…" I groaned, I felt as if I had the largest hangover skeletonly possible, and it wasn't pleasant.

"Where am I?" I looked around, and immediately deducted that I was in a dumpster.

'Seriously? Of all places?! Now my jacket is gonna smell like junk!' I sighed as I pushed myself out of it.

My injuries were of course missing from sight and I could not feel any further pain from where the human had originally sliced into.

𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐩! 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐞𝐞𝐞𝐩!

"Huh?" I could hear what sounded like loud honking.

Upon reaching the exit of the dump, I found a sight I never thought I'd see.

'Holy smokes…' I was bewildered as I witnessed hundreds upon hundreds of adult looking humans walking about.

To top off that off, buildings reaching to that of the sky were built around the area!

I tried taking a shortcut onto one of them, which I successfully did and found an amazing view of a massive city-like area. With buildings galore spanning hundreds of kilometers!

The scene took my breath away, not that skeletons could breathe.

I tried looking around, searching for anything below for anything useful to watch.

I saw some playground in a park.

"That's normal… Wait!" I immediately looked back and witness a child doing something that humans normally couldn't do…

Lifting a pile of leaves seemingly without any physical force.

'How is that possible?! Humans shouldn't be able to use that type of magic..' I immediately tried thinking of solutions to this question.

However it got worse as I witnessed even more children doing abnormal things!

𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠!

My bird watching was immediately interrupted with the sounds of sirens.

"Get them!" Someone shouted in the distance.

Looking over, I could see what appeared to be some robbers running away from a police force with bags of money.

They wielded guns and were firing back at the cops.

'Hmm, I'm not really obligated to help these guys, but…' I took a shortcut behind the robber folk and took the bag that one of them were holding.

I immediately ran by teleporting back onto a nearby building.

"Huh? Where'd-

The robber fell to the ground dead, from a gunshot to the head, "Shit! We've gotta get outta here!" Another thief yelled as they tucked their tails under their head and ran.

"Welp, whatever." I investigated the bag and found hundreds of stacks of paper.

"Is this the currency? They don't use gold around here hm?" I flapped the money around as I wondered what to do with it.

Objective: house

I looked around for any sort of house for sale.

Oo there's a good one!

There was a slightly damaged house with a red sign out front in the middle of a neighborhood.

I took a short cut in front of the house and knocked on it.

Knock knock knock!

"Coming!" I heard a voice from the other side of the door, reminding me of a certain someone.

'Man, it's been like half an hour since I've been here and I already miss the underground.' I reminiscent about the pacifist run.

The door opened to a guy wearting a white T-shirt.

"You interested in buying?" His eyes almost glowed as he looked at me.

"Uh, yeah." I threw him a stack of the money.

"Holy! Here's the key sir! Hope ya enjoy!" He immediately ran out and drove off into the sunset with his small vehicle.

"Uhh sure." I walked into the house.

It was empty of furniture but I could get some later.

Looking around, it was clear that the owner didn't put some real effort into keeping this place tidy, but I could always improve it later.

I took a shortcut beneath the floor boards and placed the money in some random empty space under the house, while taking a stack of money with me.

Objective: tech

I walked outside, asked the nearest some obscure background character where the nearest store was and made my way there, teleporting every so often so that getting there would take less walking.

"Walomartu" I read the massive billboard on the store and entered.

It was jam packed with people walking about.

'I thought only that human had that face, but I guess I was wrong.'

I wasn't an expert on human biology.

I went looking around for a computer, but made some stops to buy a few cushions if you know what I mean.

While searching, I saw a girl wearing some kind of uniform, so I of course walked up to her.

"Heya Ms, not trying to pick a 𝙗𝙤𝙣𝙚 with ya, but do you mind telling me where the computers and stuff are?" I joked around.

Her faced scrunched up at the sound of a bad pun, "What kind of quirk is that? Whatever, it's over there." She pointed in a direction.

"Thanks." I thanked her and went off with my day.

I grabbed a decent looking computer and went off to one of the registers.

It was curious how humans scan these things, "Your total is 100,750 yen." The cashier said lifelessly.

I grabbed the stack of money and threw it in their face, "Keep the change." I winked.

I wasn't too sure how much money that was, but in the end, the cashier looked like he won the jackpot.

'Time to head home. I mean my new home.'
