Chapter Three

Present Time

My throat burns with constant agonizing torture. I have only survived on human blood for so many decades that the blood of the creatures or animals is not as satisfying for me. I watch these two idiots drink animals and be completely fulfilled, as where I need human blood.

"Possum?" Ash tries to pass me the cold Stiff animal.

I smile, shaking my hand. "You enjoy it."

I see the concern on his face, but I know he won't challenge me. My clan rules are pretty simple. Number one, don't challenge me, and number two, don't confront a creature leader without my knowledge.  Other than that, I don't care about who they drink or who they kill.  Ace will kill humans, while Ash simply refuses and survives off the blood of animals. I believe we have all these instincts and superpowers for a reason we might as well use them.

"I'll be back."

The boys nod. They both know I am leaving Sandy Shores for a while for a real feast. I don't need to explain.

My feet crunch on the dead leaves and twigs as I walk towards the exit of Sandy shores. Just one little town outside contains one little grocery store. I know that this is the only access for food for the werewolves, and eventually my killing of humans is going to lead the great alpha on my tracks. Alpha cricket I feel is more loosely on this subject. He is a little more carefree, and his only concern is protecting his pack. Alpha Ajay, on the other hand, has a lot of core values at heart, and he cares about protecting the whole entire Forest. And also the humans on the outside. I think it's a little ambitious.

Arriving at the grocery store, I hear the chime of the door. Stepping in the store, I noticed every eye is on me, there are so many advantages of being a vampire. We are stronger, faster, and more equipped to our environment. But the very saddest thing of all is how humans find us very attractive and are drawn to us. Like they needed to be at all. They couldn't even put up a fight against us if they wanted to.

I walk through the store aisles  scanning the selves not that I was looking for something to eat well, I was just not something physically on the shelf.

Many moments passed and I waited what felt like ages for the last customer to slip through the door. My eyes landed on the beautiful girl working the cash register. Her red curly hair was everything and her golden brown eyes felt like they were looking through my soul if I had one still.

She smiles when she saw me approaching. Her lips are bubblegum pink.

"AB." I smile and reach out my hand giving her a firm shake.

"Alice." She looks not even meeting my eyes. It was very obvious that she was shy. But I hope she's  not too shy because I have a fun game to play.

"Why don't you step out from behind the counter and we get to know each other a little better."

She eyes me for a long moment.  I know nothing about me is initiating red flags for her, which it should be.

She smile and steps out. Her eyes twinkle with a certain cuteness I can't put my finger on it.

"You from around here AB." I know she was trying to start a conversation so things weren't too awkward.

"I live in the forest."

"The forest." She lifts up her eyebrow giving me a goofy look.

I nod. I slowly stepped closer to her trying not to alarm her. She doesn't look scared, mainly just shy, and she's participating my next move I assume.

"AB I ..I don't .. think we should," she stutters.

I put my finger in front of my lips motioning her to be quiet.

Stepping closer I wrapped my arms around her pushing her body into my. She looks up at me with her mouth dropped open.

I know she realized how cold my body felt. I bring my lips to hers kissing her anxiously. I was anxious to drink her blood. The taste of her lips only made me more thirsty.

I feel her fingers run through my hair and her body press closer towards mine I don't even think a piece of paper can fit between us.

"AB, quit playing with your food," I hear Ace laugh entering the store.

I feel her lips pulling away. "Food," she whispers.

Then my fangs rip into her neck and her blood instantly serves the burning in my throat. She doesn't even have time to react before the life is sucked right out of her.

"You gonna share?" I hear Ace ask.
