4 Scholars Day (Chapter 4)

The glazed surface of the sun spread across Avalon Hillside to represent a beautiful morning. The day had come... the day that would shape the new Era of citizens. The day of Scholars.. A day when the students that were studying in the West region would pick a scholar which could be blacksmith, carpenter or solider. Etc. They decide this at the age of 15.

"Hissori get down here now!!" Sinda yelled from the bottom of the stairs He was going to be late she thought The walk from Kojo Town to Avalon Hillside was a long one and he had to be early .

"Hissori your gonna be late boy!!" Sinda screamed He was always like this he never cared about anything.

"Get your ass down here now!" Sinda yelled at the top her lungs still getting no reply from Hissori

"Com.. ingg.". Hissori said sluggishly not caring at all

He slowly crept down the rickety staircase as if it where any other day . He rubbed his ominous purple eyes in a circular motion.

"What's the point?"- Hissori said aloud.

"Aye don't be a sore tooth, today's the day you finally become your own person." Sinda explained while putting Hissori in a headlock and drinking her rum. "Don't take it for granted." Sinda thought to herself; "just like I did.." then taking another gulp of rum

"Fine.." - Hissori proclaimed annoyingly he only really was doing it to get Sinda off his back

Avalonian Hall-open space near the palace used for large events such as this

"WELCOME STUDENTS OF THE WEST !!" Emperor Kenmei yelled to the crowd. "You all have grown to show great excellence in your studies, however, do not falter now this is just the start of the steep hill you must ascend named life. Let Byakko himself deliver you with the guidance you need to decide a sufficient scholar" He spread his wisdom across the crowd of students. The Emperor sat at the front of the crowd in the at the side of him were the two princesses Minka and Shuri dressed formally for the special occasions also wearing women's masks.

"Hissori!! hey Hissori!! over here!" It was Nelen. A boy the same age as Hissori who befriended Hissori in his early years of studies. Frail, spikey blonde-haired, green-eyed trickster

"Hey man!!!!!!! been looking for you what time did you get here?" Nelen jumped on Hissori with screaming the words with joy

Hissori shrugs his shoulders. "Who knows? And why are you always so loud Nelen?"

"SHUTUP YOUR LOUD!" Nelen yelled back annoyed but not surprised at his friend's rudeness.

The Hall slowly began to fill up and be a lot louder than it was at the start until the Hall doors opened two people walking in. Commander Benkei enters the hall greeting students as he passes.

However, at a close distance behind him followed his son a junior soldier in his second year of training. His son was a cadet named Minato He was of an average height wore the finest and latest clothes had green eyes and brown hair . Minato walked with such great pride and honour belittling anyone seeming to stand in his way. "Move" He would say. "Who even are you? Get out of my way." But he had a special greeting for Hissori and Nelen as he knew them personally from when they we're all younger in the same school. "Ahh look who crawled up the Wells. Freak number one and two." He sniggered will proclaiming his thoughts

"MY NAME IS NELEN IDIOT!!" Nelen yelled at him, refusing to be bullied like the others.

"Oh, please it would be a waste of space in my head if I actually remembered your names." Minato laughed and as bullies do he looked for the weaker target as he usually would. Here it was the silent Hissori. "Ohhh seems like pale face doesn't want to stand up for himself." He got into Hissori's face.

Hissori looked right at him though like he didn't even exist. It was creepy, Minato turned his attention back to Nelen.

"Want to know a secret, I've been showing off back at camp.. Haha they might even make me successor of Legendary weapon of Byakko hahaha." Minato was full of pride at that moment

"YOU DON'T KNOW A THING YOU HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN IT NO ONE HAS!" Nelen bellowed with annoyance "And what are u even doing here you picked your scholar two years ago?"

"For your information they invited me here imbecile. I am the best junior Cadet the west has seen." Minato made a face of joy and praised himself

"Well got to go sit in my private area section as I am the guest of honour here chow losers hahaha." Minato proclaimed will walking away

"What a bother hmh" Hissori sighed

"Yeah man he's got such a punch able face. "Nelen proclaimed will agreeing

"No I meant this whole day is a bother.." Hissori sighed and looked at the sky

Drums began to bang in rhythm to signal the start of the scholar's ceremony

"LET US BEGIN ALL STUDENTS WRITE YOUR SCHOLARS ON THE FOLLOWING SELECTION BOARDS TO PICK YOUR SCHOLARS The hall announcer said. Silence fell on the students in the hall and instantly makes lines towards the wooden boards each one carving their names in the scholar boards.

Engineer seemed popular this year as did architect. Soldier, as usual, was packed with young students feeding of the rumours of victorious war battles, adventurous and exciting missions.

"I WILL BECOME THE GREATEST WAR SOLDIER THERE EVER WAS". Nelen announced.

His response was met with laughter. from all the students as they chanted things like "You the freak why would you be great" and "Loser!"

"Quite down all of you" Commander Benkei shouted standing up with a stern face

"None of you deserve to say that you are all scholars NOW ACT LIKE ONES." The Commanders words echoed in the Hall. The voices started to shallow down until a full stop. However, something that no one had ever expected happened in a second of notice..

"I will also become the greatest war soldier..." Hissori proclaimed sighing

"Uhh.. h.. What he just say" Minato though

"Hissori.." Nelen gasped with clear shock and joy

"HAHAHA THAT'S MORE LIKE IT!! YES YES" Commander Benkei screamed with excitement "These are the types of brave students we need in the regional army."

"Haha correct Commander what fine young students haha" The Emperor joined in taking interest into what was going on

"Minka who are those deranged boys I mean look at them they cant be soldiers!" Shuri whispered towards Minka "I don't know but I think... never mind" Minka looked towards Hissori smiling compassionately

"those dam bastardsss.. they don't deserve praise" Minato whispered in anger

The scholars day had ended and the future was set in stone closer than ever to see where Hissori would turn towards the Light or the Darkness...
