Prologue

The tapping of heels seemed to echo against the pavement in the dead of night. It seemed lonely yet powerful. The red pumps were in contrast to the barely visible night sky that had no visible stars. But the pile being dragged by her seemed to interrupt this eerie mood rather than complimenting it. The bright red lips seemed to be pulled in a senile smile, her sharp nose matched her beautiful face while her figure that was rather petite bore inhumane strength as she easily dragged a bulging sack with her right hand.

There were beads of sweat on her forehead that made her hair stuck to her forehead. She reached the entrance of an alley and dropped the sack in a place that would make any passerby take notice to it.

A few hours later came two men talking and laughing the shorter one had his arms wrapped around the taller one and the taller one helped his drunk friend walk. When he got tired of being supported he removed his arms from around his friend and walked and stumbled on his own. He ended up falling directly on top of the sack.

A few moments later a shrill scream rang out through the dark night.

The blazing sound of an ambulance woke the entire neighborhood. A lifeless body was being lifted up on the stretcher and was being taken away, there were two people who sobbed in a corner leaning against the wall shivering in cold, pale with fright. The couple who happened to come across the corpse on their walk home. They were wrapped in a blanket while the surrounding officers asked them questions.

A majestic figure stood tall in the crowd, unafraid with a frown on his face. "This is already the fourth one."

"Huh? Fourth? What do you mean sir? And who are you?"

"Venson. Lance Venson."

When someone sucked in a sharp breath everyone looked over, "Do you know him?"

Zac walked over with stars in his eyes. Zac is a cheerful police officer often considered the pure milk dog in the team. He raised his hands and saluted. "Captain."

Lance looked over at him and nodded.

The realization slowly sunk in the eyes of the police officer at the brutal crime scene.
