14 Kel Vs. Goku

Goku pushed the rocks off of himself and floated in the air. Blood leaked from his lip as he looked toward the assailant.

It was only now that the Master realized what had happened. He looked at his giggling brother and sighed. He knew this would happen.

As Kel giggled, a man flashed behind him, grabbed him by the head, and threw him. It was Goku who used his extreme speed to appear behind the little Saiyan baby.

"What a strong baby," Goku said as he watched Kel fly along the same trajectory he had, crashing into another mountain.

"Is this one of the little brothers you wanted me to train?" Goku asked.

"Yes, he's a Saiyan like you; we also have a couple of Kryptonians and..." The Master described his entourage.

"Quite the lineup. Kryptonians...aren't those the superstrong guys who hate green rocks?" Goku asked.

"Exactly, his name is Zod, and there are others. You can even fight against Amazo when you get bored. But, as I said, let me help you with your wife." The Master said.

"Okay, oh, here comes the baby," Goku said.

Kel appeared before Goku and unleashed and furious series of attacks, but no matter how fast or hard he attacked, Goku blocked everything.

The frustration of being unable to land a solid hit on Goku grew more intense. Finally, Goku punched Kel, who flew off in the distance once more.

"Wow, he's got a lot of potentials. If I train him, he might even give me a run for my money. He's even stronger than Uub when we first met. I like this kid, and he doesn't quit. So take care of my wife Chi Chi, and I'll train you and your friends."

Once more, Kel charged into battle against Goku. But, again, he learned fast and unleashed a barrage of much stronger attacks and more strategic than the last time.

Unfortunately, he was still sent flying away, this time with a kick.

"Do you guys have any sense beans?" Goku asked the Master, who observed the battle.

"I can get some," he responded.

"Get a bunch. We Saiyan's improve faster the closer to death we're pushed. I can push this kid, But I should probably end things here. Once you've solved my problem, we'll begin training," Goku said.

Kel was back again, but Goku knocked him out with a chop to the neck this time.

"Lots of power, but he doesn't know how to fight. I guess he's never been trained. I should have Gohan and Goten help me. They've been getting lazy again. Maybe Piccolo and Vegeta would like to help."

Goku touched two fingers to his head and disappeared. Kel was still falling toward the ground. The Master didn't bother catching him, and he crashed onto the floor. The Master looked at his brother and made and condescending sound, and turned around.

"Chi Chi, I'll take care of her for you, Master Goku, but not in the way you'll like! It will serve my purposes, though! HA HA HA HA HA AHA!!!!!!!!!" The Master laughed evilly as he plotted his next move.

The Master and his friends weren't the only ones taking the Hunter exam in the Death Zone. Until now, however, they did not see any of their fellow test-takers.

Zod walked along a ridge and discovered a battle between Doomsday and a Chinese young man who wielded a sword. The battle's intensity grew the longer the duo fought. Zod contemplated both fighters for a while.

A blond-headed cyborg appeared after passing through a path in the rocks. He also sat down to watch the swordfighter against Doomsday. The young man seemed bored.

"Your sword attack isn't very powerful with the way you're using your energy. Circulate your energy in a 3-3-1-2-1-1 rhythm. It will increase the power of your strikes.

The swordfighter was able to follow the cyborg's advice because his sword penetrated the impossibly dense skin of Doomsday. After a few more attacks, the swordfighter became bold and finally beheaded Doomsday.

The young swordfighter ran up to the cyborg.

"Thank you for the advice! Are you a swordmaster?" The swordfighter asked.

"No, I just have a knack for seeing opportunities and understanding things. I'm Cypher," he said.

"Ji Ning, nice to meet you," Ning said with a bow as he cupped his fists in a formal greeting.

Zod listened to the two people conversed and appeared near them.

"I am General Zod," the baby said from behind the two.

Ning was frightened at first, but when he saw it was a baby, he smiled in relief.

Cypher stood up and looked at Zod for a moment.

"A Kryptonian, same species as the Doomsday," he commented.

"Hardly the same species, Doomsday was an experiment of Kryptonian science long before my birth. A failed experiment. To lose to such a sloppy sword technique; it's quite disappointing," Zod said.

"Sloppy sword technique?" Ji Ning scoffed at Zod's words.

"If it weren't for Cypher you would have been crushed to death by Doomsday in less than five moves," Zod said.

"It's true, in three moves you would have been dead," Cypher added.

Ji Ning looked at the pair and exhaled softly.

"Maybe so, I felt like it was playing with me. I guess I need to train more!" he said.

"What a coincidence, we are undergoing some training of our own. I wonder if either of you would mind if I took the Doomsday remains?" Zod asked.

Both Cypher and Ji Ning shrugged their shoulders. Zod turned around and grabbed the head and the body flying off.

"What a strange baby," Ji Ning said.

"A dangerous baby, Zods are known to be ruthless military geniuses. Kryptonian strength is well beyond anything someone like you has fought so far. Doomsdays are hard to kill and even stronger than average Kryptonians, but they are also mindless slaughterers.

A trained and focused Kryptonian however, they would make short work of you. You might not even have a chance to draw your sword," Cypher said.

"Ouch, and here I thought I was pretty good." Ji Ning added.

Flying back to where the others were waiting, Zod deposited the remains of Doomsday on the ground. He used his heat vision to fuse the head back onto the body. Next, he stabbed something into the creature's head.

"When it recovers, Kel will have someone to play with," Zod said smiling as he looked at his unconscious brother.
