Ch. 60 Beyond the Walls

-Sasha-

It's not his fault.

It's not…

His..

Fault…

I gasp back to life after he finally let go of my throat

My legs have gone completely numb again

Ever since Historia reached her second trimester he's been around a lot more often than not

Even now that Historia has gone into labor

He pushes me aside

Is he done?

Already?

I must've been out most of the time

I close my legs

"Ugh* shit" he smears the condom on my back

I roll over as he got out of bed

I strangle a pillow between my thighs, hoping it'd somehow ease the pain

Once the bath water was ready Kara called for me

I scrubbed his back, arms, chest, everything as he enjoyed his glass of whiskey and a cigar

After that, I get his clothes out from the dryer and he gets ready for the day

"Did you take the test?" He asks as he brushes his teeth

"Y-yeah." I toss his dirty laundry into its bin

"What'd it say?"

"I'm not.. I'm not pregnant" I sigh

"Perfect" he spits into the sink

Maybe that way he'll leave me alone, but from the looks of it I'm going to have to wait a while longer

I follow him into the livingroom

"Here you go, old man" Kara drops the sack of cash he's 'donating' to my fathers orphanage

"You are too kind, You're Highness" my father bows his head

But even he knows he's only doing so to keep his mouth shut

"Yes, indeed. I'll be heading out now, say hello to little Kaya for me." Kara waves goodbye

I sit down, finally being able to rest after watching Kara leave with Odin

"How much longer will you put up with him?" Father drops the money

…

"I already told you dad…"

"Y-you know. I'm sure if we tell the police they'll be more than willing to put a way such a dis-"

"What?! Dad, he's not a creep!" I close my legs

"Then what is he?!"

"He needs help. I tell you this, every time!"

"I… I'm sorry, darling… I just.. I can't stand listening t-to my little girl-"

I stand up

"I'm not a child! I've told you again and again, that this isn't about me!" I storm into my room

Kara… his mind is sick.

Ever since Shiganshina his heart has become stone cold

Being the king for some time now has put a great weight on his shoulders

He needs something he can lash out on every now and then

Like a pillow to shout into

Only in this case.

…

Of course this doesn't make him a horrible person

I'd never come to that conclusion

His mood changes greatly every time he pays me a visit

So one could say he's horrible for cheating on his wife while she's going into labor..

Or the exact opposite. Maybe he just wants to be as happy as he can ever be on a special day like this.

Pov.

-Kara-

"How much longer?" I groan

"You just got here!" Hange growls

"I'm only kidding." I sigh

"Hmph" she crosses her arms "so why did you want your child to be born in Shiganshina? A child of royalty should be born in the capital not… out here"

"Hmm? Well I don't know.. I guess it feels like home" I shrug

"My ass, you didn't want to miss out on the mission" she grumbles

"Man, why'd she have to go into labor today?" I groan "can't she just hold it in or something, till we get back?"

"You can't just hold in a baby" she raises an eyebrow

"Yeah? Well I'm hungry go fetch me something to eat or I'll make sure you stay behind with Historia" I lay back

"Wh-what?! How dare you?! Hmph*" she turns around before heading outside to fetch us some food

"Lord Amaterasu?" I hear a nurse

"Yeah?!" I jump to my feet

"Your Greatness," she bows "Queen Historia is-"

"Finally!" I hurry down the hall and bust right into her room

And there she was

My beauty of a wife, laying in bed with our child

"What is it?!" I jump to her side

"A boy" she smiles

"Yes!" I giggle

"Colt" she presses his face onto her cheek

"Colt… right" I smile, remembering we had settled on that name if it were a boy

"Mhmm" she nods

"You're going to grow up big and strong just like papa" I pinch his cheek

"Careful, you're going to wake him up" she pulls him away

"H-hey" I frown before the door gets kicked open

"It's here?!" Hange gasps

"Does it have a tail like Kara? Hey wait, he has blonde hair, and no fur, ooo I wonder if it'll grow later on" she giggles

"Excuse me, b-but I think it's about time you let Lady Historia rest" the same nurse that went for us says

"What?!" I turn around "c'mon we still have some time don't we?"

"Actually, you never had any time to begin with. I was going to inform you that we still need to run a few tests on Lady Historia"

"Hehe" Historia giggles

"Alright, c'mon Hange" I sigh

After making sure a number of my security stayed behind to protect Historia we were lead out and we made our way back to camp surrounded by the the rest of the secret police making sure no one lunged at me and what not

"Commander Hange! P-please excuse me, Your Greatness" a garrison soldier bows before me

"Speak" I give him the permission he was waiting for

"Everything is ready for our final mission, there hasn't been a single titan sighting in the past three days" he says

"Perfect" Hange smiles

"Thank you, you may go" I dismiss him

"Sir" he bows once more

We've been killing all the titans that gathered up on wall Maria every second of every day for the past nine months that we've most likely killed every last one of those things

"After all this time we're finally going to see the truth about this world for ourselves" Hange says

"Yeah" I smile

Erwin would've loved seeing this for himself

We go on ahead. I found Odin already packed with my things

I double check everything and everyone, even the 20 secret police appointed as my security, were all here

With everyone following my lead we rode on for hours

The sun was directly above us when we finally arrived at the sand dunes

They were the final stretch before the platform I was supposed to be executed on long ago

"Fields of sand just like that book and Dr. Yeagar said" Armin says I'm amazement

"An amazing thing wouldn't you say Erwin?" Levi smiles

Everyone looked so excited even Sasha's face lit up with great joy and curiosity

Sasha…

"C'mon" I step forward on Odin "the final stretch men!" I raise my blade "The moment we've all been waiting for!" I turn around towards the salty water, a beautiful scent I hadn't smelt in years

"CHARGE!" Hange shouts

"CHARGE!" everyone shouts behind me as we did so towards the ocean

It only took us about five minutes, everyone was shouting and yapping throughout the entire way, excited to see what exactly was behind the wall

At about 30 meters before we reach the wall I stand up on top of Odin's snout

I open my arms and create a perfect bridge that connected to the top of the platform, letting us arrived safely

And there it was, ocean we longed to see

"Whoa…" Armin gasps under his breath as everyone unmounted their horses

"Go on then." I smile

"YEAH, ALRIGHT!" everyone races into the ocean like little children

"Gah it's salty!"

"Amazing" I hear Levi beside me, looking out into the ocean

"Who would've thought all this water would be sitting out here" Hange says

"Yeah" I sigh

I walked around noticing the blood stains on the floor

Are these.. From way back then?

"Woohoo!" Hange finally decides to join in on the fun "c'mon Kara!" she shouts

"Hehe alright" I giggle before joining them

We splash around in the water for hours till we were all finally exhausted

"Man its hot" Eren huffs

We get on up and I could see Odin sniffing around the sand as if looking for something

I walk down the bridge, joining his side

"What is it boy?" I pat his snout, once he finally stopped sniffing "what is that?" I ask as he began licking an odd black rock

He began carefully digging with one paw

Wait.. is that ?

I sprout the red rinkaku kagune claws from my back and began helping Odin dig

We dug for about three minutes trying not to hurt whatever was down there

And I couldn't believe what I saw

It was a female dire wolf, just like Odin. Only it was white, so white it looked like it was glowing

She was just barely alive in a far worse shape than I found Odin in

"Alright, let's get you up" I dig under the poor dog and pull her out before setting her on top of Odin

"C'mon boy"

I travel with Odin back into the forest where we set the wolf down in the stream

I left the two alone and I hunted down some deer and a turkey

"Hey guys" I smile as I find Odin licking her face clean as she drank all the water she could

I throw two deer on the floor beside Odin and I take my seat at a rock, watching as the two bathe

I take a deep breath

"Think I'm really missing this" I sigh

After a few minutes I decided to bathe with Odin and finally got out with..

Well Umm…

"Friia" I pick out a name for the pup "that name suits you just fine doesn't it?"

She tilts her head before she began panting

"Yeah" I giggle

Odin began chewing up the deer, so that it'd be easier for her to take in

After bathing I decided to take a nap under a tree only to be woken up to people in the distance

"Hey, over here!" They shout

The sound of galloping horses got closer and closer before they all finally charged in through the trees

It was my team being lead by Sasha who I assume managed to sniff me out

"Kara!" Hange shouts

"Oh… hey" I yawn

"Seriously, what were you thinking?!" She stops beside me

"Me? I just saved Friia here"

…

Only, she wasn't here

"Wait where'd she go" I look around

I walk over to Odin before I see her pop out from under his belly

"Nghk" I step back

She was puny

"Hey wait so you get super tiny or what?" I crouch down beside the pup

She transformed into a little puppy

"Haha, whoa. Hey pup!" Hange was ready to hop off her horse before Levi stopped her

"C'mon, we need to get back" He says

"Right" Hange sighs

I pick Friia up by her nape and I sit her up on Odin's head right in between my legs before we set off again

We ride on for hours till we finally arrived back at Shiganshina by nightfall

I waited to hear something from Historia but I ended up staying for a whole day

"C'mon sir you could've at least slept in the room we prepared for you" the MP says after I finish my breakfast

"I told you not to prepare it and that I'd be staying in the hospital till she was better

"B-but it's already been 30 hours. Surely you could just-"

"Hey" I hear Historia right behind me

I jump to my feet

"Hey, my baby!" I take Colt from her arms

"H-hey careful" Historia reaches out but I block her with my body

"Hey, you're so tiny aren't you little guy" I pinch his nose

"Sir you probably shouldn't do that" the MP says nervously

"What? This?" I pinch his nose again

"Kara!" Historia squeals

"Hehe, I'm only kidding" I giggle as she takes him away

"C'mon let's go home" Historia pouts

"Yeah-yeah" I grumble

We head into a carriage where we waved everyone off as we made our way back to the capitol

I was watching how Friia was laying on her back, in the little dip between Odins eyes when Historia said my name

"Yeah?"

"What are you thinking about?" She asks

"Oh… how long till we can have sex?"

"Four to six weeks" she sighs

"Hmm… you can still use that mouth right?"

"Is that all you think about?" She blushes

"I'm only kidding" I pull her into my arms

"Careful you'll wake him" she says

"Man, I really wanted to name him Chaos" I sigh

"That's a horrible name for a baby" she says

"What do you mean? It's awesome, kehe" I giggle at the thought of calling out to him with that name

"No it's not, it's too violent. I mean Chaos? Really?" She shakes her head "by the way what is Odin doing with that pup?" She asks

"Oh that's Friia she's a dire wolf"

"Friia? You see that's why I didn't let you name our child" she sighs

"What?!"

"Hey.. so do you think they can really build a ship like the galley we were brought here on?" She asks

"Oh… I'm not sure but with the resources we have here on the island we might even be able to make a steam ship like the one in Grisha's journal"

"Oh… right" she closes her eyes

"You let me worry about that, okay?" I pull her head into my chest and hold her hand supporting our child

"Rest, we'll be back home in a few hours" I lay My head back

"Okay" she yawns
