Ch. 80 Battle of Marley x

Pov.

-Kara-

It's.. it's raining?

No…

That's blood… My blood

The sky was spinning.

The clouds.. no… the city is burning around us

I look down at my hands.

They were covered in blood, mostly fresh

I tilt my head

There was a woman laying on her side

I brush my fingers over the horrible burns on her body up until I meet her gaze

"It… it isn't your fault, okay?"

I tilt my head, wondering what she was talking about

What happened to her? Who would do such a thing?

"It isn't your.."

…

"Colt! Please wake up, you have to!" Falco cries "Hurry up while he's still-"

I snap back after hearing his painful cries

"Fault…" Sashas shuts her eyes

"S-Sasha?"

What's she doing there?

"Falco.." I croak after remembering he was behind me

His eyes widened "d-dad?"

"Your mother… wh-what happened?" I huff

"Dad… you…" he stops after the mere thought was too much to bare

"No.. no, you…"

I shake my head

No this can't be right…

No… it was all a dream.. it had to be…

…

Her body was trashed

Could I have really done this to her?

No, I would never, right?

"Sasha." I set a hand on her shoulder

This is bad

How could I let this happen?

"Idiot." I grit my teeth "I told you to kill me"

I shake my head

"Why didn't you kill me?"

"Wh-what's happening, dad?"

She's still breathing. But that's it.

We have to get her out of here

I set her head down

There were titans fighting in the distance

Reiner..

What the hell is going on?

Why'd he help me?

"Bastard." I grit my teeth

"Falco, take your brother."

"G-go?" I hear Colt

He was crawling over to..

Pieck..

Yeah… I remember now…

"Colt…"

"Shut it, I don't wanna hear a word from you, y-you animal" he pulls Pieck into his arms

"Falco, retreat with your brother"

"Wh-what about mom?"

"She.. she'll be fine, just leave her with me"

"Y-you really think so?"

"Shut up!" Colt growls "Sasha… P-Pieck, how could you?!" His tears dribble onto her face

She wasn't nearly as bad as Sasha

Even so…

"I hate you, I hate you. God, I hate you" he looks up at me

His iris had gone from its natural blue to red and it had two odd little tomoes inside it

"I'll kill you for this," he slowly sets Pieck down "you'll pay in hell for what you did to my woman" he brings himself to his feet

His body disappears before me

I raise my right hand up to my left cheek catching his knee just before he could smash it onto my face

"Stop this" I calmly block his attack

He responds with a quick 360

I take a step back as his foot flys across my chest missing by a hair

I take a few steps back

I have to end this quickly if I'm going to help Reiner

He charges at me

I wait for the last moment before going for a roundhouse kick to his chin

Only…

I missed

How?

Before things could drag on I quickly blitz behind him and I pat his nape with just enough force to put him to sleep

"Kghk*" his eyes roll back before his body collapses onto the ground

That could've been bad..

The way his eyes changed..

They weren't just for show.

It was as if he knew what I'd do before I even made my move

A fight like that would've been interesting

"Wh-what is it?" Falco asks

Wait.. what am I thinking?

I set a hand over my mouth

Was I smiling?

Damn it..

"Just go.." I grumble

"N-no" Colt groans still awake apparently

"Colt, c'mon let's take Pieck" Falco says as I began backing away from the two

"C-come back, you coward!" he growls

"Get as far away from here as you can" I vanish before Colt could protest further. I launch towards the brawling titans

Reiner was getting jumped

I almost wanted to sit back and enjoy the show but it looks like Eren is starting to get a hang of the War Hammer

And with Zeke's brute strength it might get ugly for us

As much as I hate it, getting away might be our only choice now..

Even so..

I have to get my heart back..

He said he grabbed the wrong one..

What the hell did that mean?

Anyways, if it comes down to it, I can always do that..

But for now I should only focus on getting my heart back

I was quickly approaching the titans

I was only a couple of meters behind Reiner when I decided to jump onto his back

Both Eren and Zeke were ready to finish him off

I slam my hand on his back as I explode into my Titan form

I slam my right foot onto Zeke's jaw and my left onto Eren's face sending the two crashing into opposite directions as I simultaneously did a front flip over Reiner

"Kghk*" Reiner grunts

"Now I don't owe you any favors, Reiner" I glare at him

He smiles "how've you been, Kara?"

"I have no intention to speak with the likes of you" I face Eren who was pulling himself up

"Very typical of you" he faces Zeke

"Eren is all mine, get in my way and you'll be the first to die"

"Very well, I have my personal grudges against Zeke as well"

"I'm going to kill you myself so don't you die just yet, Reiner" I launch at Eren

He was wiping the blood off his lip before I slash his chest with my hardened claws

He stumbles back a few meters before creating a shield from his hardening blocking my hardened fist

His shield shatters and I open my hand, catching his fist

I bring my right hand up to my chest and I make the tiger hand sign with a single hand

Pillars of my hardening shoot from the ground attacking Erens weak points without me having to flex a muscle

"Agh-agk-ah*" he grunts before the attacks finally lets up

I yank him in and I dig my hand into his chest

He creates a sword from his hardening and he slices my wrist off

I harden a blade onto my other hand as he swings his sword at me

Our blades clash in the middle sending a shockwave followed by a sonic blast through-out the city

He hardens his forehead before slamming it onto mine

I stumble back a few meters before raising my blade, blocking his coming from above

He pulls both his blades back

I grab the dull side of the blade and I manage to block both of his

"Ghk*" I grunt

My blade wasn't as thick as his so its only a matter of time till it sn-

My blade snaps

"Kghk*" I grunt

I jump back as his blades slash across my abdomen

"Agh* fuck" I growl before his heel slams into my jaw

My head jerks aside and I fall on my ass

I quickly roll back before pushing myself back to my feet

His blades slam onto the ground just missing my toes

I step up on his blades before slamming my foot onto his temple

He stumbles back, trying to keep his balance

Before he could fall on his ass I grab his head and I smash my knee into his nose

I raise my arm into the air hardening my claws as I did

But before I could finish him off I hear Reiner let out a painful cry

"Kgk*" I grit my teeth

His head was smashed into the ground and Zeke was..

"Oh shit!" I growl

I try stepping aside but a boulder he launched at me smashes onto my head before I could even brace myself

I stumble back as Eren charged at me

Before I could pull myself together he smashes his knee onto my abdomen

My body folds in half

"Aghk*" I gasp before Zeke smashes his fist onto my chin sending my body flying, crashing into the ground over and over again

After smashing around I finally land dangerously close to Sasha

"Sh-shit" I growl

I spit the blood in my mouth aside

I was slowly pulling myself up when Eren kicks my face knocking me on my back

"You're really something else, you know that?"

"Heh* thanks shrimp dic- aghk*" he slams his foot onto my chest before I could finish

"Tch*" he smacks his lips "your gonna die now." he pulls his arm back

"But first.." his eyes widen "you're going to suffer" he shoves his fingers into the holes in my trachea

I grab onto his wrist as I take a deep breath through my mouth

He pulls me up before slamming his fist onto my face ripping my throat open and smashing my head into the ground

"Hghk*" I choke

I roll over, raising my body heat in an attempt to stop the bleeding but I only manage to clog my windpipe

"Haghk* fuck!" I cough

This is bad

I can't keep my hands from trembling

I just can't breathe..

Shit

It's only a matter of time till I lose my form again

I slowly raise my head wondering why Eren hasn't finished me off yet

Wait

Where's he going?

Sasha..

I reach out and I just barely manage to get a grip of his ankle

I yank him back and he falls flat on his belly

Before he could get back up I crawl over him and I shove his face into the ground

I rush over to Sasha slowly turning back to my human state as I did

"S-Sasha" I huff

Please be alive..

I turn around to face Eren

He's just in front of Zeke

I slowly bring my thumb up to my mouth

Reiner who was far behind sees what I was about to do and throws himself onto the ground

I chomp down on my thumb and before Eren could get any closer I rip it off

In exchange for every drop of stamina I had left I create an explosion that dwarfs even that of the colossal

An explosion of this caliber puts so much stress on my body that it feels as it were devouring itself within

Eren crosses his arms, bracing himself but ultimately gets blown away

It only took a few seconds to annihilate everything within a mile radius

"Kghh-k-khk" I choke as blood pours out my mouth

My legs were ready to give out from underneath me and my ribs were in pieces

I slowly turn back around

"S-Sasha" I manage

She was laying soundly on her back, completely untouched

"Thank God, you're okay" I force a smile on my face

Pov.

-Falco-

After getting Pieck back on the ship they had to lock Colt up because he refused to let us turn the ship around

He was dead set on challenging dad again

"We need to get as high as we can to avoid shrapnel or crashing into any buildings" Hange orders the pilot as Levi sits down beside me

"It was horrible" I say

"Was it all as Colt said?" He asks

I nod

He did all those horrible things to mom

How could he?

"There's something sinister hidden deep inside him" Levi says "let's hope we won't ever have to deal with it again" he adds

"Y-yeah" I sigh

"Look, I'm sure we got enough doctors on board, so don't worry about Sasha. I'm sure she'll be just fine" he gives me a little smile

"Right.."

"For now," he stands up "help us review our next move, I've heard from Hange you're-"

Before he could finish there was a sudden rumble that shook the blimp

I stand up

"Hey, the hell is that?!" Hange growls

Levi opens the door

There was a mushroom cloud where dad was battling the titans..

It was odd, where have I seen that before?

"Wait..that looks like.." I step back

The blimp slowly began trembling

It looked as if there was some kind of transparent barrier closing in on us

Buildings and houses were getting blown away like paper

"Wh-what the hell.." Levi grits his teeth "Hange! Close the doors and tell everyone to brace for impact!" He shouts

I've heard of these..

It's just like the new concept weapon we were told will easily annihilate titans

Did they use it on dad?

No..

They wouldn't drop such a devastating attack on their own soil

This has to be His doing..

The blimp began shaking violently

"What the hell are you doing?!" Hange shouts at the pilots

It's only been about 5 seconds since the eruption

The speed of sound travels about 330 meters a second and we're just about two miles away, that means we have 4 seconds till the sonic blast hits

If it's anything like that concept weapon

Then things are about to get nasty

"Where are you going?!" Levi shouts over the rumbling as I bull rush over to the Hange

"Falco?!" She gasps before I tackle her onto the ground

Three.. I count down

I quickly push her under the desk

Two..

I grab one of the pilots tie and I yank him down with us

One..

I turn around around to face Hange

"What's going on?" She asks before I cover her ears

The sonic blast hit just as I thought it would

My ears pop and all I hear was a loud ringing

It only lasted less than a second, even so, all the windows exploded from the impact

After a couple of seconds my hearing finally came back

My balance had been thrown off so my head was still spinning

I slowly crawl out from underneath the desk and I pull the pilot out with me

"Dammit" I curse

The glass ripped the other pilot to pieces

His guts were scattered all over the ground and you could already smell the horrible stench they gave off

"C'mon" I help Hange up

"Th-thanks," she grunts

"We have to go back, alright?!" I shout at the pilot making sure he could hear me over the wind rushing through the broken windows

"What? What are you talking about?!" Hange asks

"Trust me!" I shout back

She looks over my shoulder at Levi

He gives her a subtle nod

"Fine," she turns around to give the pilot orders

"What do you think that was?" Levi asks after I join him

"Dad.. it had to be" I say as he helps me open the door

The explosion itself annihilated everything and everyone within a mile radius and the sonic blast that followed could've as easily traveled 50 miles

The blimp slowly began descending into the cloud of dust until we finally reached what almost looked like the peak of a hill

"Kghk*" we hear

He was dragging his feet with every step

We take a few steps back

"Nghk*" he chokes before finally stepping foot on our platform

"D-dad?" I ask in disbelief

He looked like he had lost 30 pounds

And he was holding..

Mom..

He cradled her like a baby

They were both bathed in blood

Mom looked just as horrible as she did last I saw her

Her body was slumped in his arms

"Someone… s-someone s-save her" he croaks
